    Yup, people become very jealous when it comes to weddings. Sad but true. Dont bother with people like that. Try to surround yourself with people who real truly care about your wedding. I am sure that if not all the majority of us here can relate.

    So far we have spent $4,000, this includes our trip for 11 days, reception, invites, favors. Our reception is for 40 people so as long as I don't go over I am guessing we won't spend more than $6,000. I am saving $$ because my BIL does photography as a hobby and he will be taking our pics we will be buying a camera which we will be able to all enjoy at a later time.

    My vote is for Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom. My FI and I go there all the time. I love both water rides and roller coasters but my FI cant really handle the roller coasters so this is a perfect medium for us. Plus it is cheaper than Great Adventure and most hotels around the area can provide you with tix at a discount.

    I was worried about people not sending the RSVPs back in time so I wrote all the details (hotel name, TA's info) on the RSVP cards and requested that those interested email or call me. I too had a master list, as people are calling me and emailing me I have been updating the list.

    My legal day will be before the DW and my parents sisters and brother are coming. My FI is not saying anything to his family b/c they have been giving us a hard time about the DW, so if they find out that we will be married before the DW they might just cancel there trip.

    I went through the same thing. I was pricing different places her in NY and the cheapest I found was $25,000.00 and that was their basic, most simple package. We both felt that we could use that towards a down payment on a house. So we decided to do a destination wedding and gave ourselves a budget. So, no, you are not off base. Some people feel that spending 30,000 on there wedding is justifiable while others dont. Hang in there, I think what Jacilynda wrote is a good way to approach it. Tell them what you have and can do and see what they can do for you. Good Luck!
