What is it? What's it's significance? Where do you get the stuff for it? Does it take the place of a unity candle during a traditional ceremony? Thanks! Yes, it's similar to the unity candle and is used a lot for sea-side weddings because the breeze usually does not work for the unity candle portion of the ceremony. I've attached sample wording that I found from another bride on this site. You can order some really cute sets online for the sand/vases, or just make your own. Here's a cute set I found online: Sand Blending Ceremony.doc

I haven't given too much thought to the website thingy but maybe I should revisit this. I sent out the STD's about 9 months in advance and had the website ready to go right before they went out. It had the website on it so that my guests could get more detailed information about the wedding and travel information to start planning ahead. I then sent out a reminder postcard last month (6 months prior to wedding) to remind people about the Early Booking Bonus and remind them to take a look at the website for updated info and start puting deposits down. The website is nice because it's a place that I can post updates and travel info that my guests always have access to. Hope this helps

Here is what they looked like before: ...and voila!

I'm thinking we'll send out the formal invites the first of the year and have people RSVP by February 17th or so that way we'll have a final headcount of who will actually be going so we can do OOT bags, etc. The invitation just has the ceremony information and then the insert will have the Welcome dinner, and Wedding Ceremony and Reception locations, etc.

I have so many questions too, but my wedding is not until July 3. I do not want to get on their annoying side just yet! Thanks! Oh, I was going to try and make my own runner. I'm sure if they offered it they would want to charge an arm and a leg for it! CutieRosie got married on the beach there and it was beautiful. Try to search her name to find her MP review and there are some pics in there. I know what you mean! I try to lay low with the coordinators but as our date gets closer there is just some info that I need to nail down

Oh, I see what you're saying. Thanks Maura Luckily for me my photographer has shot a wedding at the Chapel Gazebo before (Laura's wedding) so if I do get married there she'll already know what she's up against Thanks for all of the valuable information!!!

This is Post-hurricane conditions...

Thanks Maura but I don't think that will be a problem in April. In November the sunset is known to be earlier (5PM) but in April it's not until (7PM). That's the time of year we usually go to Cancun and it's not dark at 5PM yet. Thanks for the insight though! It will be very helpful for those having their wedding around these months

Thanks! That would be great if you could! I'm hoping to have my wedding in the chapel gazebo or the tucan gazebo
  14. Wow! Those are gorgeous! You can't go wrong with any of them... sorry, I'm a SUPER indecisive person so picking my faves would take forever! He's going to love whatever you pick!

I wont think any less of people that dont come but will have a special bond with people that make the effort. How are you doing with bookings? x I completely agree with you! That's how I see it too I figure I did my job by sending out the Save The Dates and a reminder postcard so if they want to come they can look further into it. I was thinking about not sending out the invites until after Christmas and having the RSVPs due 2/17/10 that way if people are going to Meixco they will already have their travel dates and I can have them add it to the RSVPs so that I can get OOT bags and stuff together We are going to have a blast no matter what so those that don't go will just be missing out!

The gazebos do come with a red mat type runner, but the red won't go with our wedding colors so I wanted to make a custom white runner. The beach weddings come with a more sturdy brown/tan runner that looks really nice on the beach so I wouldn't worry about that Thanks FMrs.M I just sent her an e-mail with a bunch of other requests and questions earlier today so I'll save this one for another e-mail. I don't want to overload her with too many questions or else she'll never get back to me! LOL!
  18. I also posted this in the MP 2010 thread but... Does anyone know the measurements of the gazebo aisles (just inside the gazebos...not the whole walkway leading up to it) I want to make an aisle runner and have searched what seems like every post and still can't find it! I know HaleGrifa made a runner too but I can't find the measurements anywhere....

Maybe you would put something like "For early booking specials and other wedding/travel information please check on our website." Or something like that...that way they know to look at it early but don't have the prices right there in their face? I agree! Make sure they know to go to your website for Early Booking incentives and detailed pricing info. You may also want to consider having them tentatively RSVP online for the Mexico ceremony so you have some idea of the guest count to get a head start on OOT bags, etc. I did this and it has worked great. I also made a note on there that I know this is not set in stone but since this is a destination wedding it will help us with planning.
  21. Here's mine! Veronica and Patrick's Wedding - wedding website by mywedding.com Wedpass: cancun2010 It has a password because it's just easier for me to keep track of which guests have visited our site but feel free to log in!
  22. What a fantastic deal! I don't mind getting my dress dirty or wet, however I think it's going to be SO heavy if I get it wet!!! Thanks for the link! I may get one too
  23. What time would you suggest to have a welcome dinner in the month of April? Is 6pm too early? 7pm too late I can't decide!
