Expedia usually breaks it down per person. The total for 5 nights for 2 adults with just hotel is around $1600 (on Expedia) and air fare has been around $300-400 per person so if you add $1600 plus airfare it comes out to $1100-1200 per person. I think some of the girls on here are quoting per night (which is for two adults and not just one person) and not per person. Also some of the girls on here are from Canada and even Europe and prices may be a little higher for airfare etc. so when you add airfare and divide by number of nights that's how they get larger numbers. For me we pay $338/night (for two people) which is only $169 per person per night but they have to purchase airfare separately. Hope this helps Also you have to be careful with some 3rd party vendor travel sites because sometimes even though you put 3 or 4 people for the trip itinerary, they're charging you for all flights BUT for only two people for the hotel and you may have to pay for the extra people (over two) when you check-in. So what may seem like a great deal on some websites really is not.

I tried to get my TA to put a higher percentage in the contract but she said it doesn't matter b/c they usually don't give people a hard time. Is that true? I was so angry at my fi for picking a place that no one can afford... why is MP so expensive he assures me it is worth it and that everything will be wonderful. I hope he is right! Hi Slaps I'm not sure about the strictness of off-site guests however I did want to put your mind at ease about the amount of money spent per day to stay at this resort per person. I have been to the Moon Palace before and absolutely love it and think it is worth every penny. I've seen the other resorts on the strip and after all is said and done with the variety of food and drinks (alcoholic and NON-alcoholic), included excursions, variety of restaurants and bars to hang out at and various entertainment on site (for adults and kids) it is completely worth it. You don't have to worry about who's going to pick up the tab or splitting the bill if your group all go out for drinks or dinner together, whether you brought enough money for food and drinks to last your entire vacation (they are not cheap when not all inclusive), if you're going to get bored after a few days at the same resort, etc. You can actually relax and truly enjoy your vacation and wedding and only have to worry about what you want to do that day from all the options you have and not about how much it's going to COST for what you want to do... The last thing you want to worry about when you're on vacation is if you have enough money or travelers cheques with you. To me it is totally worth paying for all those luxuries up front and not worrying about anything once I get there My sister in law got married there last year and some people she invited were complaining about the cost, but once they got there and saw what their money paid for they can't wait to go back and felt silly for complaining... Hope this helps

My fiance and I are also determined to be healthier in 2010 Our wedding is our main motivation however we want to keep it up long after that. The first few weeks were the hardest for us but now it's something we need to do every day My weight has pretty much stayed the same lately but I definitely feel 'tighter' and smaller! I'm REALLY trying to get my arms tight! It's so hard! They're a lot better now than they were though Good luck! We are here for you whevenver you need us Feel free to post whatever and whenever.

They do have nice gift shops in the Nizuk and Sunrise lobbies. They also have fine jewelry shops that carry gold, sterling silver and swarovski crystal jewelery. I can't remember what exactly they have for favors but it's a fairly nice variety of souvenier type stuff (ie. shot glasses, etc).

I think the confusion here is that there are group contracts with Moon Palace and there are Group Contracts with your travel agent. I think when you fill out your wedding contract it asks if you are working with a travel agent. From what I understand your travel agent has to coordinate a group booking with the Moon Palace directly to link it with your wedding ahead of time in order to qualify you for the free events or you can bypass the travel agent altogether and work with Moon Palace directly to have a group booking. Once you have a confirmed group booking with Moon they give you a booking link (or give your travel agent a group booking link) so that they can keep track of who books for your wedding. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  9. Hi girls. MrsEddy just posted her Moon Palace review! It is fantastic! Here's the link if you want to check it out MrsEddy's Moon Palace Review
  10. Excellent review!!! What a gorgeous wedding! Thanks for giving so much detail! It will be helpful to SO MANY of us! Oh, I just thought of another question. Do you know how big the round tables are? and how many people were sat at each table? Thanks!

Also, the pictures were larger when I was editing them but when I saved the thread, they became thumbnail size. Any suggestions? Once again, I just want to thank everyone on this forum for contributing and making my dream wedding possible. I couldn't have done it without you! Enjoy! Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for all of the WONDERFUL information!!! I do have a question for you though. I've asked my on-site coordinator for an estimate for a lounge set-up by Zuniga but she has yet to respond. When were you able to make those arrangements with Zuniga? Did you do it on-site or during the 90 days before your wedding? Thanks!!! Also your bouquet looked gorgeous! That's one of the things I'm worrying about ... flowers.

BUT we still have plenty of time to get into great shape! Just make every single day count Well, I'm happy to say I've been really good at making it to the gym every day this week so far. If I miss a morning workout I have to go in the evening to make up for it so it motivates me to get out of bed! It really helps that my fiance likes to go with me too. Except this morning I got up (at 5:30 a.m.) and he said he wasn't going today because he couldn't fall asleep until past 12:30am. So I said o.k. and just went by myself... well after being on the tredmill for 10 minutes he showed up at the gym after all! I think we're in competition for who goes the most days..lol!

I didn't have to pay anything when I first faxed my request, however I did give them a credit authorization for the $300 cancellation fee, but they didn't charge my account anything. Now that they changed the packages (since I booked) I'm doing the New free package and will send them my $300 at least 30 days before my wedding so they may require that as a deposit now... I don't know for sure.

  15. So now that the New Yeas has begun and I only have 3 months and 20 days left (EEEKKKK!!!) I'm going to start paying to do WW Online and track my point religiously! I have to be ON TOP OF IT! Good luck in the New Year girls!
  16. Hi and welcome everyone! So my weddng is only 4 months and 2 days away so during this holiday season I am just taking it one day at a time and avoiding the goodies at work that are all over the place. Luckily for me my fiance is a great workout partner and has made it easier for me to stay on track where our workouts are concerned so that has helped too. We have a potluck at work today so my goal for stuff like this and the next few days of family gatherings is MODERATION I can eat what I want but will just take mini portions. Congrats on your recent successes Melfredo! I know how motivating those weekly weigh in are! I'm sure you'll still do good through the new year.

Bc my girls r thinking about walking barefoot..so now I am not sure if barefoot or fancy flip flops Thanks so much I haven't been married there yet but I've been there before . The bridesmaids stand on the sand for the beach ceremony, HOWEVER, the sand in Cancun doesn't get hot like the sand at most other beaches. I know it's hard to believe unless you've been there but this sand is more powdery and doesn't conduct heat like normal sand. I haven't been there for over a year and they've had a hurricane since so if this is no longer accurate someone please feel free to correct me. Thanks. Hope this helps

So I am curious to know how many people are on WW, just fell off WW, or want to start WW. Since it is the holidays, what is the hardest thing for you? Mine is finding time to work and avoiding all the chocolate that seems to be around me. Hat! I love WW too and have had great success with it. I tried every quick fix diet before WW and they never kept the pounds off for very long but WW has! I've been able to keep most of it off but have gained a little back over the last couple of years and started this thread to get back to basics and get some additional motivation before the big day! I did good for a while and then got busy wedding planning and just plain got lazy about sticking to my points and drinking all of my water over the last couple of months, HOWEVER I am extremely happy to so that for the last 3 or 4 weeks my fiance and I have been on a mission! We only have a little over 4 months to go until our wedding so we had to! LOL! We've been watching everything we eat (I don't actually pay for WW right now but I still eat like I'm on plan), no more wine, beer etc, adding lots of fiber and protein.. until the wedding and have been getting up at 5am to hit the gym at least 4 to 5 mornings a week before work! We have 4 kids so it's hard for us to do anything in the evening time after work when the kids are home. Neither of us were 'morning people' but after about 2 weeks we don't have any problem getting up that early now. We have to make every day count since we're running low on time and we want to be in the best shape of our lives

I don't care how my guests get there, as long as they get there Isn't it such a relief when you get the bridesmaid dress! Then it feels like the bridesmaids are finally more involved and start to get more excited about the wedding too What color are you going with? We're on the 'shoe' phase now.. but we might wait until after the holidays since everything is so hectic right now.

Keep in mind that you just arrive in a foreign country where things aren't as clear as you would expect them to be and unless you speak spanish there's a language barrier as well. We were redirected 3 times and walked around for a while before we got to the gate for our connecting flight. I think another thing that made it a little tougher was that we each had two carry on bags and we had to go through a little security (more lines) to have them scanned in Mexico City. So, even though we had a two hour layover, we really needed the time since the initial flight was late getting in and once we found our way around we were only there 15 min prior to boarding. One other thing that made it annoying, coming back we had to take a bus from the gate to the plane! So that time (last leg of the journey) we went thorugh two security check points, down some outside stairs to board the bus, spend 5-10 min standing while the bus took us to the plane, and climbed up more stairs to get on the plane. Mexicana also has rows of 3 on each side of the aircraft so although our seats were C and D and looked like they were together they were actually not for ALL of the flights We were able to rearrange with single people but a couple in front of us wasn't as lucky since they had couples on either side of them as well and had to sit across the aisle from each other We've flown Mexicana airlines almost every time we've gone to Mexico and haven't had any problems. We like to fly with them because my fiance is 6'6" and he has more leg room and space on most Mexicana flights than when we fly with most other airlines. I don't think it's the Airline that is the issue here. It sounds to me like the only problems being discussed here are with the layovers in a foreign country and the seats that were assigned Just my .02 cents...

I used Expedia Alert (you can download it from their site) on my computer to alert me when rates changed (up and down). I also went to the individual airlines themselves to see what their prices were when air went down.

After speaking with the TA she said that getting the promotions would be part of the pkg. When it came down to the paper work, neither of them had included any mention of the free inclusions for cocktail party or private functions I guess part of the confusion here is due to Palace not actually making it a part of their wedding packages. Also when they are referring to a "Group Booking" they are referring to THEIR Group Booking (Palace resort group booking), not your travel agents. They have worked with travel agents in the past to include these perks for their bride however I believe the travel agent has to work this out with them. They include the 'wedding freebies' when you sign a 'Group Booking' contract via the 'Group Benefits' link on the wedding website homepage. Here is what it says: Group Benefits We are happy to have you celebrating one of the most important days of your life with us, but we want to make your celebration even better. Palace Resorts is pleased to offer the happy couple with great incentives when booking a group with us* 10 to 19 rooms – complimentary cocktail for guests after ceremony * 20 to 24 rooms – complimentary private function + 4 free nights for bride & groom * 25 or more rooms – unlimited private functions + 7 free nights for bride & groom* To request a wedding group proposal for 10 rooms or more, click here * Free room and functions will be credited through a group contract. On-line bookings do not qualify. Certain restrictions apply. When you sign a group contract directly with Palace Resorts they send you a link that your guests can use to book their rooms directly for your wedding. Your Miami wedding coordinator manages the people that book via the link. I would have your travel agent contact Palace resorts directly and speak to their Group Booking Representative to try and work that out. Hope this helps.

We're having our local ceremony today because we are doing the Symbolic one there. I checked the weather and it says there's a chance of rain for most of the latter half of the week but I'm thinking Cancun weather is more tropical where storms pass versus the Midwest where when it says rain, you're not seeing any sun that day. I will be sure to post a review when I get back because I know how important those were when I was planning. This forum has been a lifesaver. I don't think I would've gone through with a destination wedding site-unseen without it. Wish us luck!!! Happy Thanksgiving! CONGRATULATIONS MrsEddy!!! Good Luck!
