Great thread..what if you have two wedding bands? Do you wear one on your right hand with your e-ring before the ceremony and flip them both over? They're contoured to fit around my e-ring and don't look right without it in the middle.

I don't think it's tacky to ask. We decided to upgrade to first class to get the extra weight limit. It wasn't too expensive at all.

I really want some diamond stud earrings. I'm getting all kinds of resistance to this idea so we'll see what happens. I'm thinking of getting him an HD video camera. He's always looking at them in the best buy and future shop flyers and I know he really wants one. Plus we can hand it off to a wedding guest to record our day.

We're not doing an at home reception so no way to make up for the cake. It's good to know they can add some rum to it. That may be a nice compromise.

These look fantastic. I wish I'd joined in the order.

We chose it because of the free wedding package, its not too close to the airport and I've been to mobay many times and it's big. We want to spend time with our guests but not run into them all the time.

I arrive on the 12th and leave the 19th. I wish I was able to come a little later but that's the way the packages work from Toronto and I wanted the wedding to be on a Friday for those people who can only come for a weekend. I chose the steakhouse- I guess Mamee Bay for our reception. Still deciding on flowers. I emailed Tai flora for some quotes and they haven't got back to me yet. I'm going browsing for some fake ones this weekend because I really don't like the ones included in the package.

I'm not doing too much. Hair, make up, mani & pedi at the hotel $172 Brazillian wax $30 eyebrow threading $5 Crest whitestrips $19 I borrowed workout DVD's from friends and burned my own copies of the ones I like and go out for min. 5K walks when the weather is good.

Scott-Pierre looks like we're getting married on the same date! What time is your wedding? I'm starting to get worried about hurricanes. That's the only thing that could really ruin the wedding. I decided to order a couple extra welcome gifts and wedding favours thinking that there may be a few last minute people thinking they'll find a deal. We still haven't finalized our ceremony wording either.

Thanks. I have Shelia's email. That's who gave me the quote. I've been reading that some people seemed to get a cake that wasn't chocolate or vanilla without asking for it so maybe that will happen. I'm still considering bringing a rum cake though.

Just a few weeks till we're married! How is everyone's planning going? I still have to order my wedding gifts, decide on hair and make up, put together my welcome letter, brochure, assemble my place cards and decide if I'm taking or ordering decorations for the reception tables and my bouquet. I hope we all have good weather for our weddings! I'm pretty easy going but I think this is the only thing that could ruin my day!

I was not planning on tipping at all until I read this thread. Still thinking about if I will. I never tip at an AI and have always received great service. The only thing I've done is left gifts for the maids.

I wanted to get some feedback from past ROR brides on their cakes. How did it taste? Did anyone upgrade their cake? It seems like a vanilla cake with strawberries used to be included in the free package but now there is only chocolate and vanilla to choose from. I asked how much to upgrade to a cake with one layer strawberry shortcake and one layer a traditional Jamaican rum cake (which I really don't want but, since my family is Jamaican, everyone else is expecting it) and it was $250. I guess it's cheap as far as wedding cakes go but for 20 people it isn't really worth it. I may just bring a rum cake from home! A family member can make it or I can just buy one for $30 or so. Has anyone done this? Any feedback on their cakes would be helpful!

Thanks for this. I was thinking of ordering them from a floral company with some coffee but I may just do bottles of rum as it's so much cheaper.
