  1. Happy planning, welcome to forum!
  2. You did a great job Amy! I will add only two things - how to avoid food poisoning and how to help if will happen. I'm righting article about this but won't be ready until the end of the month. One of the tricks is to drink a little bit of peptobismol everyday. Buena Vista Social Club plays every 1 and 3 Wednesday in Plaza America - amazing experience. Other thing - if you buy anything in Plaza America be sure to count before you will pay. If you want to rent a car don't do it in the hotel. Cubarcar charge 150 CUC for one day (Hunday Atos, cheapest and smallest one), you can have a car at better price at Miramar or few other rental places in the Varadero. If you want to give a gift for somebody - memory sticks, old cellphones(with sim card) , old laptops, are really precious there. If you want to help bring them with you and gift to somebody. Don't give your clothes in the resort, especially to the servers, maids etc. They all will be finishing on the black market. People who really need them are living out of the resorts. All the best for your wedding!

  10. Regarding food quality and atmosphere: Ø Le Gourmet - French (min X; max. 140pax) - very nice, sophisticated with excellent European style food choices Ø El Charro – Mexican (min. X; máx. 200pax) -nice place, if you like mexican food Ø El Pescador – Seafood (min. X; máx. 170pax) -nice colors, limited food choices (not everyone likes fishes and seafood) - very good seafood platers Ø El Mediterráneo – Mediterranean (min. X – máx. 140pax) nice place, good food Ø Snack Bar Las Olas – open air with a view over the blue ocean not really, it will be dark food a la snack bar, plastic tables and chairs Ø Snack Bar Piscis – open air with a view over the swimming pool the same like Las Olas Ø Reception on the Beach with an exotic atmosphere people will get hungry:) I will go with Gourmet or Mediterranean - because of cosines, atmosphere and food
  11. I never heard about Rolly, but I know few other professional photographers in Varadero, Cardenas and Havana. Be aware that they have completely different approach then modern photographers in Canada or USA. They don't have an access to the internet or other sources. Very good photographer in Havana (which is 1,5 hour drive from Varadero) - he is a real photojournalist but willing to shoot weddings: Abel Ernesto his e-mail: [email protected] (537)691-5335
  12. One of my favorite resorts in Varadero and still not crazy expensive, congratulations! You have a nice Marina on the right side of the road wich can be good background or a pictures.
