Yes - they will let you take them off. I was one of the dumb ones who didn't even think about it! LOL Thank god for photoshop! lol I'm not sure who they will allow to take them off, but I think the Bride & Groom for sure, and maybe the bridal party?

Your single affadavit (sp?) is only valid for 3 months from the time you sign it, so there is no point in starting the process any earlier than 3 months. We didn't go through WEDO, but 3 months is plenty of time. Since you live in TO, it's probably worth your while just to go directly to the Dominican Consulate to get it done. That's what we did. We just went to the consulate office with our birth certificates, unsigned single affadavits (you have to sign it in front of them if I remember correctly), passports & copies of our witness's passports. For the affadavit, I've attached the word document here - just fill in your information. The Dominican consulate will then mail you your translated documents. If you have any other questions about it, just let me know. I'll see what I can remember!! Oh...and I found the website for fees. It's $360 US...but I think some resorts require legalized documents which I think we paid an extra $200. We heard that our resort didn't require legalized docs, but we didn't want to chance it. We paid the $200 just in case! Here's the addy... I have mine on Saturday too! I wasn't nervous and I had no hesitation booking...but now that it's getting closer I'm really starting to worry about how much she can actually airbrush out! lol I tried on a few outfits last night & was like "ugh, hope she can get rid of those dents!" lol Oh well - it is what it is! I agree with Jenna & Meagan...just be honest. They should understand if you are just wanting a quiet intimate wedding. Although, keep in mind you cannot stop them from going to the same resort on a vacation of their own! Let's hope they don't stoop to that level!! I'm sure they will respect your wishes. Are you doing an AHR? You could tell them you are having a quiet intimate wedding, but would love to see them at the AHR... Good luck - I'm sure it will all work out!

I'm not sure the documentation you would need for that. To do a name change without any specific reason (marriage, adoption, etc) I think you would need to apply through your local government - I don't think it can be done in conjunction with the marriage. I could be wrong, but I think that's how it works.

That's exactly what I was going to say!! You can get pashmina's for cheap Or you could just expect your guests to know that the evenings are chilly & plan for it...although mine didn't!! But realistically, are the rooms that far from the terrace that they couldnt scoot out between events & grab a sweater/wrap/etc?? Good luck!! And I wouldn't change your plans that drastically for the sake of people maybe being a little chilly!

I did a french pedicure with a blue flower on each of my big toes. It was very cute!

Tracy - I think you should wear whatever makes you feel sexy. And anything that FI loves you in. ie, DH loves me in a white tank top & boy shorts...I'm going to be wearing that, along with some of my bridal lingerie, jeans no top, and I'm even going to be doing a couple in my wedding dress, but you can't do that yet!

I don't blame you for waiting - nothing to do with your body of course! I just dont' think I could wait a whole year (almost) to give it to him! lol But I'll show you my pics & then you can still contact Shelley about doing them next year!
