12 days until we leave and I just had my first wedding nightmare!!!

I finally got all my OOT bag stuff today!! Find a Word Puzzles/ Sodoku books $1.25 @ Dollar Giant Decks of cards $1.25 @ Dollar Giant First Aid Kits $1.25 @ Dollar Giant Tums $1.99 @ London Drugs Ibuprofen 10's $2.99 @ LD Cotton Swabs $0.57 @ Walmart Chapstick w/sunblock $2.82 @ Walmart Thinsations Snacks $2.77 @ Walmart (only one pack in each OOT goodie bag) Total $125.61 before taxes or $8.97 per person. I just found out on Wednesday December 30th 2009 (3 days ago) that my best friend is in recovery for drug & alcohol addiction. I've been friends with "Leigh" (not her real name obvs) since kindergarten, so 25 years. I'm very happy that she's made the choice to get better, but I'm wondering why she waited to tell me 2 weeks before we go. She's told me scary things like she was smoking crack & tried to commit suicide twice after her dad died. She is going to seek help for her mental health as she was once diagnosed as bipolar but never followed up with treatment. I knew she wasn't coming b/c she never send back the RSVP after she initially said she'd come. She's in a womens recovery house now with restrictions until she completes the required steps. I hope she sticks with it and stays sober. I know she will fall off the wagon but for the sake of her daughter, I hope she doesn't. I love her like a sister and I want what's best for her. I told her I'd prefer her to be clean & sober than come to our wedding. Thanks for letting me rant here. If anyone has any advice on this situation, I'm all ears.

LADIES: Today I was in London Drugs and I found these possible items at a good price: Tylenol* Extra Strength Tablets - 10's $2.99 Advil Tablet Vial - 10's $2.99 These are $1 each cheaper than Shoppers Drug Mart. Granted I haven't been to Real Canadian Superstore or Walmart yet....

Finally!!! The last major item is almost done!! Once we have paid the deposit, we will have booked Enrique at EM Weddings Photography. I just would like to say he has been most helpful in answering my questions and explaining the process. This was a last-minute booking (we leave for PV in less than a month) and Tim & I are relieved to cross this very important item off our list.

Okay ladies, I have to ask... How the heck to you pack the OOT & hangover kits to your DW? I heard about bringing receipts for all the items, but I don't know if I'll have room!! lol

Hello everyone! I tried to find a thread for this Platinum Vendor but I couldn't find one. I have been speaking with Enrique recently and he's been extremely helpful and quick to answer my questions. I love his work and the custom package he proposed looks okay to me so far. I'm looking for feedback from other brides from BDW who have used his services. I got a little too excited the other day... Has anyone talked to Paulina lately? I can't seem to reach her and the last time I got a response from anyone was October 23rd - almost a month ago! She sent me the initial contract, which had the wrong package. The 2nd amendment had mismatched rates/hours for the package. I've emailed her several times and even FI is getting worried!! I'm terrified that I won't be able to complete the booking!! I'm even more terrified that I won't be able to find a photographer that we like that's in our budget, if we can't book Paulina for our wedding!!

Thanks for your kind words ladies, it means a lot. Yesterday before bed was tough. My mind was wandering & I kept thinking about the whole mess and getting upset. I finally had to play solitaire & mahjong until I fell asleep from exhaustion. My dad & I have had a good relationship up until he told me they weren't coming & FI is still pissed off. I actually called him an a**hole today. Now I have no urge to speak to my dad or SM. I feel if I do, I'm going to say things they may not expect me to say and they'll never talk to me again. Frankly I don't want to invite them to my shower (SM obviously) or the AHR if we have one. What do you think? Should I still invite them? I'm done my rant for today, thank you for listening.

Ladies, I need your insight... The Guest Services Manager at the Royal Decameron wants to know when I want to have the ceremony. I don't want FI to see me before the wedding so we're not having it at sunset now. I imagine dinner would be afterwards, but I'm not sure how it works. FMIL started me with some questions but I wanted to check with people "in the know" Here's what I have so far. What do you brides & brides-to-be think? Is there anything else I should ask? (we're not ready to discuss the menus yet). What time does it get dark in January in PV? How does it work for dinner? (i.e. do we eat in the dark) Do you set it up with lanterns? What time is dinner? I'm on the fence on AHR; I have to discuss with FI. He might do it if we specify 'no gifts'.

Just found my FMIL is thowing me a shower. November 29th is the date so far. I'll leave the invite list strictly to those invited to the wedding. We invited several people who we knew couldn't make it. Sort of off-topic, is it okay to have an AHR later on in the year & specify 'no gifts'? I don't want to seem greedy. FI didn't want to do a registry.

My FI went shopping ALL ON HIS OWN and picked out his outfit. He bought it at Dunn's Tailors in Vancouver Canada but he refused to tell me how much it was. We agreed that a suit would be too much to wear on a hot day. The pants have a pinstripe but its hard to see in the pictures with my little point & shoot camera.
