  1. thope - it depends ont he restaurant. I think it says on the website if they are casual elegance or casual. I know there were a couple that were casual b/c my hubby wore shorts, but then others were fancier.
  2. Hi Beachbride All the ladies covered the main points. I think my biggest piece of advice is to pick the date that you and your fiance want and not worry about what works for everyone else b/c in the end the people that want to be there WILL be there. We went with christmas/NYs week which was pretty expensive to accommadate alot of students and teachers and in the end alot of them didnt end up coming. I dont think I would have changed our week even still, but just reinforced the fact that you should look our for what you guys want first and foremost. take a gander around the forum, you will see a ton of reviews on dif hotels, that will definitely help. I used a travel agent only b/c we had guests flying out of 6 canadian cities and 3 US cities.. however my TA SUCKED big time.. she still got us the best deal though.
  3. We got married at Dreams Huatulco and had guests coming from Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Regina and the cheapest price was $2200 for our Toronto guests.. the rest were up to around $2500. Then again we went at Christmas so it was more expensive b/c of the time of year. What I did find was that, regardless of the price, if people want to be there they WILL be there. We didnt have anyone not come b/c of price and we had over 60 people join us. Good luck!
  4. I loooove Romona Keveza dresses.. There were two of hers that I really loved so im bias to her dresses. I think that you should go what YOU like best. Doesnt matter how fancy or not fancy it is, it is your wedding!!!
  5. Hi Beach gal.. check out the links in my siggy.. I have included some pics of the ceremony and reception in my review!
  6. I agree, thanks for that post. I just saw it and it reminded me of a few things i hadnt thought of! Im off to phoenix in the morning for a mini 5 day vacation.. this little bit of snow we got today was just what i needed to smile even more! hehe
  7. Wow this is so helpful Kerri! I have basically everything switched over too but havent done my SIN (damn it, should have done that when i was over at harry hays doing my passport!) or my mortgage/land title. didnt even think of those.
  8. I think it depends on your group. For us we had over 60 people come so we wanted to keep it simple and have all the costs included up front so once our guests got there they didnt have to worry about budgeting for food or alcohol. The AI route made alot more sense for all of us.
  9. Definitely a personal preference. I am not religious so a church wedding would not be romantic for me. But I have been to both beautiful church and beach weddings. I think it totally depends on the couple.
  10. Gorgeous pictures, you have soooo many awesome shots! I love your colors and how your bmaid dresses, the ties, your clutch, the shoes all matched PERFECTLY without being too matchy matchy. Congrats!
  11. Obviously a) its friday, but also Looking forward to a happy hour drink or five and c) I love my life right now!
  12. I actually think Dreams has one of the best wedding packages out there to be honest WE did the ultimate package (like $2700) and also didnt use any of those things you mentioned above. If you look at the pricing for the meal alone it starts to make sense. Plus it includes other things like centerpeices, bouquets, boutenniers, chair covers.. things that you dont realize add up. THey actually include alot and go above and beyond with the pkgs. I think the gold menu is $65/pp so if you have 20 people, that right there is $1300.. cheaper if you go with the silver menu. If you can price out everything you will need and then compare. I know most brides find that all the little costs add up to be alot more than the pkgs.
  13. What do you mean? What is $2000? Like the price of the hotel?
  14. Welcome to the forum! Take a look around, esp in the Mexico/Riviera Maya threads. You will find all the help you need! Don't hesitate to ask other brides questions Good luck!

  16. Rambo : sylvestor stallone
  17. Thats awesome Cara! A lot of weddings coming up soon for Calgary brides, its so exciting. It seriously goes way too fast so enjoy every second of it!!
  18. yah i have to agree, i dont think my arms or chest are getting bigger but they are tighter for sure. I havent done the squats b/c it felt too easy for me when I was trying.. but maybe i should start it up again and just do alot more since apparently im too lazy to go to the gym now. I might need to get married again just to have motivation to work out
  19. I have to agree with Kate and Ana.. Im kinda floored that you would even let this bother you. Seriously, who cares who views or comments about your site to you? You are getting married, enjoy it!!!!
  20. I agree with the other girls. IT sounds like everyone is making the effort to come to your wedding and I think that right there shows that they are excited and its important to them. But life does go on and other things will come up b/w now and then so even though they might be focusing their attention on other things right now, trust that when they get to your DW they will be thrilled and have a fantastic time. Its YOUR wedding, noone will ever be as excited about it as you!
  21. Since we arrived before our guests on the first flight we went to the lobby and greeted everyone who arrived and handed them their bag then. For the people on our flight, we handed them out to them at the pool once we were all settled in. They loved having us meet them adn were super surprised by the bags.
  22. My gf swears by this stuff too and wore it for my wedding.. its like gel nails but just nail polish instead of the actual nails. if that makes sense?
  23. Gerald Butler - The Ugly Truth
  24. HI Fireweed! I got married over christmas break last year and it was awesome Perfect! You can see my review and pics in my siggy. I am not sure if you can just have your reception in one of the restaurants or not. You might have to pay a fee. I do have to say that the area around the pool where our reception was was more private, beautiful and the meal was the BEST anyone had all week. Was there are particular reason you wanted to have it in a restaurant instead?
