  1. I hope you guys have a wonderful reception day with your friends and family--and Steph, I hope your mom did a great job and it's everything that you want it to be! Congratulations
  2. Some Modge Podge and cute scrapbook paper could make a regular tin look just as cute! And a layer of MP over the paper would seal it too! Thanks for sharing, these are really cute!
  3. I really love that brown dress! I'm rather "hippy" myself, and that's totally a style of dress I'd go for!
  4. Wow that is really different! I can't imagine how much time it would take to put one together!
  5. We have caught some slack, but I know that even if we had the big wedding back home that many people wanted us to have that there would still be complaints because it wasn't done their way. Some people won't be happy no matter what you do, so you just have to do what makes you happy! Besides, I'm still convinced that the people who have complained the most will be the people raving about it when it's over
  6. Quote: my wedding is april 21st 2009......they said that i can order the dress in petite with a train and it will come in 3 months........has anyone gotten their dress from david bridal this quickly We planned our wedding for this August at the end of March! I was in a complete panic about getting a dress in time. I found one I loved at DB and ordered it in April...They assured me it would be in by mid-July. They called me 2 weeks later to tell me it was in! If they tell you it will be in I definitely wouldn't worry. And I think they probably add a little extra time on just so they don't have to deal with too many bridezillas lol.
  7. Quote: Awesome- thanks guys!! One more thing did ya'll attempt taking your cake top home? If so how difficult of a task was that? Customs is very strict about taking "unpackaged" food across from the border. From other threads I've read on this site, you can't take your cake home...so if you like it be sure to eat it there!
  8. Oh I also wanted to add...I just bought a ream of white coverstock (not as thin as paper, not as thick as cardstock) and used that. I did double sided printing and it worked fine, and it's quite a bit cheaper than buying brochure paper! The only hassle is that you have to make your own fold lines!
  9. Quote: So you did them as all different brochures? I bought brochure paper and I was just going to do one little brochure but now i have so many things that i want to put in it, i'd either have to do a booklet or several brochures. I did two brochures--one about the resort and one about different excursions available off the resort. The other "pages" are just thirds...I used the brochure template but made all of the fronts the same and all of the backs the same...then I just cut where I'd normally fold and had three copies of whatever the "page" was. I did that for things that didn't seem to go together (like flight information and restaurant information).
  10. Thanks for the compliments everyone! I started handing them out yesterday and they were very well received and people were very grateful for the information. Definitely made all of the time spent on them worth it
  11. You should try posting this on the Sandals & Couples board. I'm getting married at Sandals but doing the actual ceremony there.
  12. Your pictures are beautiful! I love the look of the soft pink against the turquoise ocean backdrop! Congratulations
  13. Quote: Side by side we'll be partners in life, under palm trees swaying, we'll become husband and wife. Erin Last Name and Michael Last Name will exchange marriage vows Saturday, June 21, 2008 Negril, Jamaica Please join us in celebration upon our return Saturday, July 26, 2008 7:00 pm Address Louisville, Kentucky I've been so stumped on wording for our AHR invitations and this is absolutely perfect--especially since the invites have a palm tree on them! Hope it's okay if I borrow your wording!
  14. Here are two more templates--I couldn't fit them all in the last post! Attachment 2079 Attachment 2080 Things to Know....pub What To Expect.pub
  15. Thanks everyone! Here are my templates in Publisher. Like I said, I got so much information from here (especially wording help--thanks to everyone!) and the Sandals site. Attachment 2074 Attachment 2075 Attachment 2076 Attachment 2077 Attachment 2078If you have any questions just let me know. If anyone wants the step by steps for the folder I'll have to measure and let you know...I just kind of messed around with it until I got it to work! letter to guests.pub Included Activities.pub Additional Excursions.pub Restaurant and Bar list.pub Suggested Packing List & Wedding Info.pub
  16. I'm going to post this here since it's mostly information about the resort. I made these up for the guests using information I found here and A LOT of information from the Sandals "Know Before You Go" Guide that I doubt most people will take the time to read. Here are some pictures! What you see when you take it out of the envelope--the band is actually made of metallic shimmery paper, but it's hard to tell in the photos! When you open it--the ribbon unties so you can take out the cd (full of fun islandy music) and read the letter from us. Some of the brochures/inserts--the inserts are front and back, but I'm only posting one side so I don't make this too long!
  17. I just love looking at everyone's dresses! Here's mine--I don't have any pictures of me in it...I'll make sure to get some at my next fitting! From the front A view of the back--the straps criss-cross, but I couldn't get a good picture that way And a close up of the detail
  18. Quote: I'm really hoping that I will be able to hang my dress on the plane. I've heard that some people were lucky and the attendants hung it in a closet or the captains area. I'm hoping for the same thing. That's really one aspect of the trip that I'm most nervous about, though I was told my dress shouldn't wrinkle too easily. My fiance wanted to fly first class one way, so we're flying down first class...hopefully that will help!
  19. Welcome Tara! Be sure to join us on the Sandals forum! There are quite a few girls that just returned from SGOR and there are more of us headed there soon!
  20. Wow, it sounds like snorkeling and the glass bottom boat are must do activities! Thanks for your responses everyone! And it's funny, because I noticed all the similar siggy pictures too and thought it was just so cute
  21. I'm not sure if this will help you out or not...but there's this stuff you can buy at scrapbooking stores called "Stickles" (it's made by a company called Ranger). They make all different colors of it, and even a clear one that just sparkles. It comes in a container like the puffy paint used to. You might be able to use that to fill in the gaps...if you are going that route, I'd make a mock up using your leftover gems on something else and see if you like the effect first!
  22. Maura--I don't understand how you're being charged to have the flowers changed when you weren't the one who goofed up the order? I hope they turn out okay for you this time! And I got a chuckle out of the program story...sounds like something my sister would do!
  23. Quote: welcome to the august brides thread bridget! post some photos for us and let us know how else we can help! Thanks Maura! Hopefully I'll get around to posting a few pictures over the weekend after I get my "info packets" done. I definitely need some jewelry inspiration so I'll be sure to post a picture of my dress as well. For now I'll post a picture of our invitation. We had discussed just inviting a few close people by word of mouth (especially given the short amount of time between setting the date and the wedding) but my fiance was afraid of offending people so we did invites and sent them to immediate family...about 25 in all which wasn't too bad. The invites were either matted on blue or brown cardstock and then put in the contrasting envelopes. After I did the invitations and started looking at flowers I changed the colors to chocolate, bright pink and green and got rid of the blue...oops!
  24. Thank you Christine! I definitely want to give the glass bottom boat a try...that's the safe way to see what's in the water!
