  1. Hi ladies! I have the pictures but I don't know how to post them. Can anyone help?
  2. Hi! We just got married at the RIU Negril and we also had the 4pm wedding time. By the time the wedding got over with and the pictures were done it was about 5:45 at night. We all went to the lobby bar for drinks until are 6:30dinner reservations. I really don't think you'll have enough time to go anywhere if you do eat early but you should have time if you don't eat till 9. You should be able to confirm ahead with Dionne at what restaurant and time you want your dinner to be. We did about 5 months prior. If you do choose the later seating I would definitly sugget Ricks over Margaritaville. I found Margarittaville dumpy and not up to class with all of the other ones I have been to but I loved loved loved Ricks. We actually went there twice during our stay. If you have a larger group going they may give you a discount but it cost us $20 per person round trip to get there. Be prepared as well for drink costs unless you order their specials. Hubby had a beer for 8 dollars and I had a glass of wine for $20. But I then had a margarita that wasw on special and that was only $7.50. They also except american money but will only give you Jamaican back. Hope this helps!
  3. We went with the Royal package and did a couple upgrades. Oh I forgot to mention the wedding cake- we were going to get the bigger one which would have cost an extra $250 but she threw that in for free, she said that was part of the 2009 package, that you get the size cake that you need to feed all your guests for free! It was okay, didn't taste that good but not a lot of people ate it anyways! I brought decorations for it, chocolate starfish, that I gave Dionne but they never made it on the cake and i don't know what happen too! Just so everyone knows to you really won't have much contact from Dionne while at the resort. We saw her for an hour while we were doing the wedding meeting, 20 minutes during rehersal and then I saw her for about 5 minutes the whole wedding day. But everything did manage to go smoothly. We also got married in the hurricane so we weren't able to have it on the beach but we did have it on the inside terrace and it turned out beautiful. The gazabo is located right in the middle of the beach and has a walk way right up to it for the wedding party. The arch way is a little further down and doesn't have a walk way so you kind of have to walk around a little bit. We were supposed to have it at the arch way.

Did you have your hair done at the resort? If so, how did they do? 2. Did you actually get the room upgrade? 3. How were the bouquets/flowers? Do you suggest upgrading the flowers? That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I'll think of more! Again, thanks for the post and I look forward to reading your future review! I can definitly post some pics for you. I have the disks at home so I'll bring them in to work with me tomorrow and post some! I did have my hair done at the resort and I loved it! It was pretty expensive, $90, but it was my wedding day so it didn't really matter to me! I brought a picture of what I wanted and it sort of looked like it. They are super quick too, only took 35 minutes to do the whole style. I did not have my make-up done there though. We did get a room upgrade. We booked a basic room and we recieved the free upgrade to an oceanview. They never offered the free room the night before for my husband, not that we really wanted it anyways. The flowers were great. I didn't see any that I liked on the website but she had a book to chose from during our meeting. I upgraded our flowers for an $40 for mine and each bridesmaid was about $30 i think. I'll post pictures of those as well tomorrow!
  5. I did have my hair done and it turned out great. I was supposed to have a trial but then I found out the same girl would not doing my hair so I thought it was pointless. It did cost a lot of money....over $90, but turned out great. I did bring a pic along of what I wanted and it sort of turned out that way but better. They are super quick too.... I have really long hair and it probably only took 35 minutes to do it.
  6. I just got married at the RIU Negril on November 7th so I can try to answer any questions you have. I hated the flowers that I saw online as well but every bouquet picture that i did like and sent they said would be $300-$400. That was way to much for me so I thought I would just deal with it. When I got down there Dionne had a totally different book of flowers to chose from and they were a lot better than the website. I ended up getting a great bouquet for myself for $40 and all my bridesmaids for $30 each! Also I used the resorts photographer and everything turned out great! They were very good and high quality photos and for $600 I couldn't ask for more! My husband slipped the photographer and extra hundred and he put all 400 pictures on a disk for me to take home so I didn't have to pick and chose what pics I wanted
  7. Hi everyone- I just got married at the RIU Negril on November 7th so I can probably answer any questions you have also. We had a fabulous time and I will try to write a review when I get a chance. As far as music I would definitly suggest bring your own music along and make sure you have everything labeled for when you want the songs to be played! I don't know what type of music they had available there but I would say it's better to be safe then sorry! We were the only wedding that day but our wedding was on a Friday so I don't know if that's why or not..... we also go married in the Hurricane!!! But the next day there were three weddings in a row. As far as pictures I would definitly suggest the people at the resort. The did a wonderful job on my pictures and kept asking what other poses I wanted. In all they took over 400 pictures, we had a large group of 62 people! I purchased the upgraded package to 50 prints but my husband actually made a deal with the guy, he gave him an extra hundred dollars and he put all 400 pictures on a cd for me so I didn't have to sit and chose which ones I wanted! I was in heaven! The wedding decorations are very basic so if you want something more I would definitly bring your own things along. We did and the WC set eveything up perfectly (I also wrote out detailed instructions on how I wanted everything placed!). We ate at the Steakhouse and it was fantastic. They really catered to us and our guests. This is an open air restaurant so be aware that it can be really really really hot! There was a 3 person band that was walking through who stopped and played some music for free during dinner as well so it made the whole thing awesome. We also rented out the disco so that was a lot of fun as well. Make sure to bring any music you want to hear here as well as all they have is the new pop stuff, my parents are major country lovers so they weren't really happy. If you have any questions ask away! I wished there was someone here to help me so I will defintily try to help you as much as possible!
  8. I am in desperate need of help. I am getting married in 2 and half weeks and I am still in need of a song for me to walk down the isle to! Right now I have "Somewhere over the Rainbow" picked out for my bridesmaids to walk down to so I would like something along those same lines for me to walk down to. I really love the Canon in D but I am looking for a little faster/upbeat version. Does anyone know if this version exsists or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for all your help!
  9. Where are you purchasing them from? I've been looking online and everywhere seems so expensive!
  10. Hi! Just a couple of random questions. I read somewhere that the WC will contact you around a month before the wedding to go over some of the details. What details need to be figured out before we get there? I already have the steakhouse confirmed but she said that I wouldn't be able to confirm the disco until arrival. What about flowers and photography? Is this done on site or through email? Also I am curious to know if all the extra's that I want to get have to be paid in cash or can go on a credit card. I don't want to carry around a couple thousand of dollars in cash. If anyone can help or direct me in the right direction that would be amazing!
  11. I have been able to get so information. If you have any questions ask away and hopefully I'll know the answers! We are also getting married in less than a month so I will definitly have more info then!
  12. The email Dionne always emails me on is this one:[email protected]
  13. Welcome! I also am getting married at the RIU Clubhotel in Negril. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
  14. Hi Michele- I am getting married at the RIU Negril as well in November. I believe the hotel does offer a catamaran trip but I am not aware of the prices. You could email Dionne- the wedding coordinator there and I'm sure she would be able to get them for you. We looked at doing this as well but not through the resort, an off site company and they wanted too much. We also have 80 people coming so even a couple dollars per person would be to much! I can look into this while I am down there as well if you would like me to!
  15. The hotel looks beautiful! Have a great time!
  16. We are getting married at the RIU Negril and then going to Sandals Negril for our honeymoon. We did the ultimate upgrade to one of the pool side suites but we are staying the basic room at the RIU so we can afford it!
  17. Hi everyone- I am looking for help-PLEASE! I am looking for pictures of bouquets to send to the florists. Of course there are a million and two websites out there dedicated out there to this but I am looking for more tropical themed bouquets. Our colors are a bright pink and blue topaz. Does anyone have any pictures of their bouquet that they could share or do you know of any websites that specialize in more destination wedding flowers? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  18. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I ordered from Vista Print and I actually designed my own cards. They were super cheap, hopefully they turn out well. Does anyone know of a good place to get thank you bridesmaid cards? I was going to make my own again but I couldn't find the design I wanted.
  19. Hi girls- I was wondering if anyone found cute thank you cards for your bridal shower? All the cute ones I have found are so expensive. I have around 50 people invited to the shower so I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. Thanks!
  20. I am really worried about the cake as well. I have looked into an outside baker but they are definitly not cheap! If anyone else has an pictures of what they received for a wedding cake I would love to see them!
  21. From everything I read you should probably bring your own music. I hear they play a lot of old country music. I am putting together a couple of mixed c.d.'s to bring just incase. When I contact the WC she said that I couldn't guarentee the disco till arival. Were you able to do so ahead of time?
  22. Are there any brides out there getting married or have been married at the RIU Negril? Do you have any suggestions or comments about your wedding? I am getting married on November 7 and have a million and one questions!
  23. Thanks so much for the review! We are honeymooning here and staying in the honeymoon oceanfront! Looks like we made the right choice.
