  1. I did an hour of spin and 30 min of shoveling (for which I worked up a serious sweat, so it must have been cardio!). I find if I do at least something every single day, even on my rest days, I keep my motivation. When I don't workout for 3-4 days in a row, day 5 is always SO hard to get back on track.
  2. 30 min of shoveling and 30 min of calisthenics at home - squats, lunges, plies, calf raises, push-ups, crunches, leg lifts and planks. About a month ago I stopped using my husband working late and having the car as an excuse not to workout...either calisthenics/plyo or yoga at home on these days! I'm thinking of grabbing the 30-day shred DVD to rotate in on the off gym days...anyone on here tried it?
  3. Planned to go to yoga, but grocery shopping took longer than anticipated...good thing it has been snowing non stop since NYE so I have been shoveling every day for at least a half an hour, plus deep cleaning my house post-holiday! I may not have made it to the gym today, but I am still staying active!
  4. My advice for the first class is let the instructor know you are new so they can help you set up the bike correctly, take it easy on the resistance and don't let the butt pain discourage you. Once you've been to a few classes, you end up not even feeling the seat anymore. Oh, and my last piece of advice is have fun and pace yourself! You are only competing with you!
  5. Did 50 min of spin this morning and 15 min of abs.
  6. I couldn't get to the gym last night b/c DH worked late and had the car, so I improvised and did a half hour of plyometrics and abs in my livingroom. The only problem is that my dog thinks its playtime everytime I lay down on the floor, so he was jumping all over me! Despite this, I'm feeling it in my quads today. I only have to work until noon today, so this afternoon I'll be heading to the gym to get in some cardio before getting ready for tonight. Happy New Years and best of luck in 2010 all my fitness minded BDW'ers!!

That was the address I was using to contact her for my wedding last year! I was thinking that maybe her inbox is full at the other address (maybe she is off for x-mas and new years?) and that it just bounced back? Otherwise I wish you luck getting through to her on the old email.
  8. Ah, scary! What email are you using? The last one she wrote to me from was at the end of October and it was :[email protected] Good luck getting in touch with her! 9. After a week and a half hiatus, I went back and did 50 min of spin and 20 minutes of upper body weights today! Felt sooo good to burn off some christmas calories!
  10. Hey I'm going to chime in because I am a fellow spin lover. I started a year and a half ago and finally invested in cycling shoes about 4 months ago and it made all the difference for me b/c I could focus on engaging my hams and quads better. I try to go at least 3 times a week in addition to my regular strength and yoga workouts. I tried it and was hooked! Now I recommend it to anyone looking for an intense, fun workout. I am fortunate to belong to a gym that offers about 25 classes a week so there is no excuse not to find one that works into my schedule.
  11. I went away for the weekend and have been sooo sick all week so no working out for me I was doing so well too! Oh, well, back on the wagon when I've gotten through x-mas and am feeling better. Wishing all you fit ladies a happy holiday season!
  12. Hey ladies! My hubby and two other couples just booked a trip to Panama for April. We were looking for sun, sand, and a bit of adventure, and we wanted a different local. Costa Rica was out of the budget, so we decided on Panama. I've never met anyone who has been, so I figured I would check in here to get a few opinions - and who knows better than my DW girls! We are staying at the Playa Blanca Resort about 2 hrs from Panama City, and down the beach from the Decameron (which I have seen is a spot for a few furture brides on the forum). The Playa Blanca is significantly smaller, and not as well known as the Decameron so there isn't as much written on it. Trip Advisor can be so mixed, so I would love to hear from anyone who has been or anyone who knows someone who has been. (PS - I'll be creepin' some of the weddings that are going on while we are there to report back to future brides) Thanks ladies and happy holidays!
  13. Did an hour of spin and 20 min of abs/core last night
  14. 50 min of spin this morning followed by 30 minutes of upper body weights
  15. Wed Dec 9 - 75 min of shoveling (a 4 car driveway and 30cm of snow = workout) Thurs Dec 10 - 1 hour of yoga
  16. 60 min of spin followed by 30 min of upperbody weights & abs.
  17. I'm wondering if Carolina changed her email? She emailed me about 2 months ago to ask for permission to use some of my wedding pics on the new Wedding website they are building for the hotel - I guess since it has become so popular in the last year (I wish I had all you girls last year when I was planning b/c there was only one other bride married there from this forum).....I have a feeling they are making Carolina exclusively the wedding coordinator instead of spreading her thin by having her be the guest services manager as well. Last year Isyuney was also a wedding coodinator so I would contact her to see if she has a new contact for Carolina or if she on vacation or something? Good luck girls! That must be so frustrating! But good news for all future GP brides - a website with all the wedding options!
  18. An hour of yoga last night, and today will be a rest day.
  19. I have about 7 years of dance training and when I did the class I had trouble following some of the choreography so don't feel bad - some of the steps are really quick! But I can totally see you dancing like Elaine during a class b/c they add in the arms and it almost impossible to dance any other way! And, OMG your wedding is in 10 days!!! You must be so excited!!! When do you leave? Quote: Originally Posted by poohshek I busted out laughing so hard quite a few times at myself during class. I am a HORRIBLE dancer and dances like Elaine in Seinfeld. 20. I did an hour of spin and 15 min of abs after work today Poohshek - How did you like Zumba? I've done it once at my gym but its too early for me to make it after work....but if they offered a evening class I would do it more often to mix up my routine b/c its a lot of fun and a great workout!! Hope you liked it!
  21. I did an hour of spin followed by an hour of bodypump - woop!woop!

I would love to use them, but I'm worried that they're booked up now. My wedding is January 16, 2010 at the Grand Palladium Bavaro. Thanks! Amanda Hi Amanda, I'm still on here occasionally, but I'm sorry I don't have any advice for getting in touch with PhotoSouveir. I booked them in Sept 2008 (for my Jan 2009 wedding) by email. I never had trouble getting a reply from them, but apparently they are SUPER busy now. I highly doubt they will have your date available less than 2 months out from your wedding...sorry. You can always try emailing them again (with your date in the subject line) or maybe follow Carribean's advice and see if HDC is available?
