Signed CONFUSED BRIDE...lol the flyer menu we were discussing is for a private dinner for just the couple. it has nothing to do with your wedding reception dinner. i don't think you *have to* do a buffet when you have over 40 guests ... i thought the buffet wasn't an option *unless* you had over 40. at any rate, with 75 people you will probably want to do a buffet, because otherwise you are only allowed one entree selection to be served to everyone, rather than your guests having some options. i'm hoping they'll let us have the buffet even though we don't quite have the required 40 people (emailed claudia, waiting on response).
  4. our photographers will be leaving shortly after the dinner/reception starts, so we are going to do our first dance immediately upon our entrance. same situation: we are using our ipod for music and have no emcee either ... my MOH is going to announce us and then queue up our song. immediately following our first dance, we will do the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance and then be seated for dinner. rest of the dancing will happen after the main course. with all of the special dances done right in the beginning, we hope we're able to have some photos taken of those dances, the reception setup, and at least what the cake looks like before the photographers need to leave.
  5. the girls here have covered the bases ... a real man, one who loves you, will never be ashamed of you or embarrassed to be with you. uninviting you is shady and sounds like he's hiding something. you DESERVE only the best for yourself and your children. be strong, and demand respect. you have said more than once that you have a great, amazing relationship, but then have outlined how he's hurt you and promised to change once you were married (which, btw, never happens ... people don't change often. if they do, unfortunately it is usually for the worst). i have to ask, what is the need for change if the relationship is *truly* so amazing? it almost sounds like you've maybe both been in denial of some larger issues in your relationship. it happens. many of us get so caught up in life (or in planning our weddings) that we tend to lose sight of what's really going on underneath it all. i agree with the other ladies here, a long sit-down heart-to-heart conversation is warranted and necessary, especially since children are involved. my heart goes out to you, and i hope you're able to either resolve this and have the wedding you've dreamt of, or move on toward the future you and your children deserve.

I qualify either way, but I guess you'll have to check with your WC to see what she says. I just think it's very strange how different people are told different things. That's why I love this forum!! i got this off their website, so i'm holding them to it! "This package is complimentary when booking a Honeymoon Suite category or higher for a minimum of 7 nights or if 5 rooms are reserved for a minimum of 3 nights at any room category." i sent claudia an email about it (but don't really expect an answer from her, lol), so i also sent my TA an email asking her to confirm it.

YAY! congrats on being a MRS! so were there any issues at all with the fact that they do not yet have their visa? did they reserve a room at dreams, or just use day passes? or did you need to count them as wedding guests?
  12. B2B= drtracy for all her hilarity! mrs= annR for all that BL madness!
  13. hah! i can't believe she called you. note to all TAs, vendors, etc.: if you don't want anyone to post anything negative (or that might be viewed as negative) about you in a public forum, then don't give us ammunition! we are just as likely to post glowing recommendations and positive experiences as we are the negative stuff. it's your actions that determine which will end up on the forum!
  14. i get phone calls about "exciting news" from "pink apron bridal preview" ... something i supposedly "registered for and was selected for" ... let me just say that i would NEVER register for anything with the words "pink apron" in it, LOL. everything about the name sounds like it sets the women's movement back about 40 years! if you can't tell, i loathe pink and i'm not very domestic either, LOL.
  15. shannon, you have quite a few that are REALLY stunning! great job girl ... his jaw is gonna hit the floor! your outfits are so cute too. as always, i have the utmost respect and awe for all you girls who are brave enough to do this! i wish i had your courage (and/or your figure)!
  16. it's a clever idea, but personally i would not in any way feel comfortable doing it. if you want to help out the MOH and BM, you could personally offer to offset some of their costs (i.e. pay for one night's stay, or just the flight, or even their wedding-day attire). what your TA suggested seems like you are forcing others to pay for someone else's trip (when they may have enough of a problem paying for their own)! and you're right, if you didn't somehow mention that you were doing it, it's just plain shady.

  18. the MOH should be in charge of the planning, but in NO way should you be bearing all the costs yourself. with a huge wedding and shower, i imagine she is likely having several bridesmaids (maybe 5 or 6)--they should ALL be helping out with planning, and the total cost should be split evenly amongst you all! (it's also not unheard of for moms, sisters, or other close relatives to offer to chip in, although they certainly have no obligation to.) oh, and alcohol is NOT a must at a bridal shower. you could kill off a lot of the cost by eliminating that or limiting it to just beer/wine.
  19. andi, great planning thread! so sorry i couldn't add that hair flower to it, but you're going to be gorgeous anyway!

  23. i didn't end up hiring her, but i had contacted her a few times and her response time was always pretty good (just a few days). she was always very polite and professional, and SHE sent follow up emails when she hadn't heard back from ME, lol!
