I can't believe that I'm leaving for Mexico. My intentions was not to wait until the last minute to post my planning thread but circumstances just didn't allow that to happen. But I am taking a few moments to get this to the forum before I get out of here...doesn't have earn me a few bonus points? Thanks to everyone for the advice, letting me vent, and giving me all of the great ideas. Without this forum, I COULD NOT pull all of this off!! Without further a do here it goes..... Thanks BDW for all of the words of encouragement. Our plan is to focus on our wedding (I'm glad we have all the money we need for it already saved up) and enjoy our honeymoon. I've even added a trip to the golf course on the honeymoon to help cheer him up. We will tackle this head on when we get back. He gets a little severance package that will last until Jan '09 so we're hoping that he'll get his dream job next.

I totally understand your pain. We dealt with the same thing. We actually just got confirmation from the BEST MAN that he was going to go this past Monday. It's strange how some folks can be so inconsiderate, especially when we bought the bridal parties clothes. I wonder why he waited so late to tell you & when was he planning on letting you know? That's additional stress that you really do not need!

So we are leaving for Mexico in 15 days and guess what....my fiance lost his job today, which caught us totally off guard because he was actually up for a decent raise this year!!! During his performance feedback (where he thought he was going to get a raise) they said that they were eliminating his position & if he wanted to he could head home today. Apparently, they are having to downsize his department (he's an IT analyst) and since he's only been with the company for 13 months...he got the boot...along with most of the other people who started around the same time he did. This is definitely not how I thought my day was going to go and I could do without the additional stress.

So Kevsgirl....will you be able to keep the secret until your DW?!?! I don't think that I could. We are having a legal day, but I've already told our parents that it's happening and that they are not invited. (Didn't want to be unfair since my parents live in Houston like us but my FI parents live in NYC.) I know I wouldn't be able to keep that secret to myself...I could easily see myself referring to myself as a MRS...lol!

I just had a Bridezilla moment when I heard that there would be two weddings going on at the same time & I knew the resort was not very big (that's why we chose it).

Did you see multiple weddings going on at the same time? I have just found out that there will be a wedding at the same time mine is and they are moving my reception to the Deck area. Is there enough space there for us to have tables set up for dinner & a dancing area?

I had a GREAT weekend. My bachelorette party was AWESOME and my bday yesterday was just as GREAT. I will try and post pictures (if they are appropriate...lol). We haven't resolved anything in terms of Secrets Capri double booking our wedding. This week I am contacting the WC's manager because the WC still hasn't been very up front with us as well as now she's saying I can't have my wedding rehearsal when we were originally supposed to have it because she has a wedding during that same time. So how is she going to be able to handle two weddings at the same time if she can't handle a rehearsal & wedding at the same time?

My bday is on Monday so my gift to myself is to get everything done w/ the wedding! Which means I have to assemble menu cards, programs, create my seating charts, put together welcome booklets, and print out tags. I know it sounds like a lot, but I really just have to put together a sample & my wedding planner will assemble it all. I already have all of my wedding gear for myself & FI as well as all of the outfits for our wedding weekend & honeymoon so I think this last push will allow me to enjoy these last few weeks of getting married & focus on being in perfect wedding day shape. Did I mention I'm having my bachelorette party on Saturday? So it's going to be a crazy & fun weekend. I'm really excited!!!

I used studio563.com. They are fabulous!!! I love, love, LOVE them! They did my engagement photos too & will be shooting our wedding & TTD session. If you want a female photographer, I would recommend Lindsay (she did mine). She has a few on her website, I can also send you a few samples of mine, and they are running a special on their BD sessions for the rest of the year (at least). PM me if you want more info.

So I'm having resort issues as of last Friday. I'm getting married at Secrets Capri which is known for its boutique, intimate feel, although it is more on the expensive side. My FI and I chose this resort because they promised us that there would only be one wedding per day, so that's why we were pushed to make our reservation early to confirm our wedding date. Well, I found out Friday that not only will there be another wedding the same day of mine, but also during the SAME TIME. I'm 100% pissed because now I will have to split staff resources throughout the day, which increases the chance of something going wrong. Also, the WC was not planning on telling me if I didn't come out and ask her (because of some of her responses to my requests) if she was organizing another wedding. If I could I would change my location because this is not what I signed up for. I did not want to have anyone splitting time between my wedding and someone else's and I know they did not confirm my wedding date before us because we made our reservations about 10 months ago & the WC promised that we were the only wedding. Am I over-reacting to all of this? I just feel cheated!!

My FI and I are completely untraditional with all of our music selections. Currently, I am walking down to "When I First Saw You" by Jamie Foxx (from the Dreamgirls soundtrack), our first dance is to "Steppin' Into Heaven" by R Kelly, and we haven't decided on what we are walking back down the aisle to yet. We are thinking maybe some Barry White "My Everything" or "I Feel Good" by James Brown. I haven't decided on the day of itinerary yet, but will post once I figure something out, which should be sometime this week.

I had my BD pics done by my photographers Studio 563 in Houston. Lindsay shoots the BD sessions & they are absolutely fabulous!!! Studio 563 did my engagement photos and BD pics. They will also be doing our wedding day and TTD sessions. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They are also running a special on their BD sessions til the end of the year (at least). I work with the Houston photographers, but I know they have an office in Austin as well. You should visit their website studio 563, austin and houston Texas documentary wedding photographers!

I vote for #1. It's just something about that one that made me take a second glance and I'm sure when you're wearing it...no one will be able to take their eyes off you!
