Go over the amount of people, and they'll charge you for an event fee, plus dinner prices. Flowers for bridal party will add to the costs. Decoration at the ceremony will add to the costs (even an aisle runner, or rose petals). Music fees (DJ or speaker rental for iPod) for ceremony. Expenses for attire Any gift baskets for the guests (or welcome bags of info) Stationary (invites, thank you's, etc...) Photography Thanks Mikkistreak, That helps me out a lot. I guess I'll have to contact my wedding coordinator to see how much all those individual things cost. I doubt I will have over 30 so hopefully the hotel can accomodate us for dinner. I mean I kinda think it's ridiculous to charge for dinner when everyone is already paying for their food in the all-inclusive price.
  8. So, excited I finally booked this place today for my wedding Nov 27th, 2008. It does look super nice but since it's so new they have some work on their hands to get all the quirks out. So, it's a Thanksgiving wedding for me
  9. Ok, I"m like stupid and stuff..ha How do I add those fonts to my word document. Or what program do I do this in. It doesn't look right..
  10. Ok I'm trying to get a better understanding of how this works. If I take the "free" wedding package that I"m posting below. What other outside costs should I expect?? I guess I thought all food was included..so for a dinner can't we just all go out to eat together There will probably be over 20 guests but who cares if they get a piece of cake they can get as much dessert as they want in the restaurant. We are having an at home reception so I guess I"m not too worried about spending a lot in Mexico. But I know I will need to get some things just curious as to the hidden costs I might want to consider...let me know what to expect. 11. That's another good reason- to put together a video..Like it!
  12. That would be great if you could attach the spreadsheet. I'll have to try to find the posting about Riviera Maya photographers...
  13. Hey Carrie, I'm still looking to book mine and found your photographers website. Have you seen some of his work before or did you have someone recommend?? It looks like he does pretty nice pictures. I'm trying to find someone who is good within my budget though and your budget sounds like mine
  14. Yes, Chicago winters suck just as bad as her in Michigan I do love Chicago though..think I'll be doing my bachelorette party there. Hmmm..maybe I'll decide not to wear my dress after 3 months I might be over it. We'll see.
  15. Yes, I was thinking that part would be cool too because most people won't be able to make the wedding so being able to have pictures of it may make them feel more of a part of it and it will be nice to share that with people who wouldn't normally be around to share that. But yes, I have thought about the whole being done with the whole wedding part because we plan to wear our wedding apparel..(hoping my dress will still fit)
  16. Yeah, it works best for us in a lot of ways because we are able to save up more for the reception then. Also, my mom and dad go to FL for the winter so that would be enough time for them not to have to fly again and just stop on their way back to their summer home here in MI. Besides anyone else from out of town that may have to fly in has a little time to recoup those costs too. Either way I'm thinking it's a win-win. My FI says jokingly and if we are divorced by then we can just have a divorce party. ha This will not be a Britney Spears wedding!!
  17. Good point about the spoilers on ED's review..glad you pointed that out. I didn't even think about ruining it for others. I love that Morty's TV updates. I have to know what is happening as soon as possible. Ha..especially when the have the 2 part HOH challenges. I JUST CAN'T WAIT!! Kinda like waiting for my wedding day..it's pure torture
  18. My fiance and I have decided to up our wedding from Feb 2009 to Thanksgiving week of this year in Riviera Maya Mexico. We are debating about when to have our at home reception. Because when we get back it will be the busy Christmas season with Xmas work parties and people travelling for Christmas' etc. Then besides the fact we are in Michigan and travel weather is so horrible Dec-Feb so we are thinking about waiting until end of March. Do you think this is o.k.?? Or does that seem to far out??
  19. Hmmm..very interesting. Well, I hope they will send me all that info as well soon. I still have some questions as to fees for outside photographers. Other than that it clears up some of the questions. Thanks! I hope to hear back soon on setting our wedding date there in Nov 08!
  20. I don't want to be a NOOB anymore!!
