  1. Welcome & congrats!!! I am from Omaha too I'm living in Denver now, but getting married in Riviera Maya in about a month. This forum will be amazing for you, the girls (& guys) are a wealth of support, ideas, everything you'd want! Good Luck & happy planning!
  2. Sometimes finding "the one" is overrated...i was expecting & waiting until one I tried on made me come to tears (like everyone told me) & then finally realized, were women..trying out beautiful gowns, so there are going to be plenty that we love & to just find what felt right, was comfortable and stopped freaking about waiting to find one that made me cry, b/c that just isn't my personality anyway. Keep positive, you'll find one that works for you & you'll be gorgeous! And i agree with the girls, screw the in-laws this is YOUR wedding not theirs!
  3. Your amazing as usual! Those pics are great & that city is beautiful!
  4. This is trouble...i'm starving after reading all these! 1. chips & salsa 2. Mac & cheese (Kraft) 3. anything with buffalo sauce 4. CHEESE! Most any will do 5. Pizza Yummy
  5. Okay I searched to see if there was already a thread on this & didn't find one exactly, so correct me if I missed it! I am trying to think of gifts for our bridal party & would love it if all of you could share what you got or are thinking of getting yours! Also, are you giving them the gifts in Mexico or before you leave so you don't have to lug them along? Thanks
  6. Finally found dresses with 1 month 2 wks til wedding! Ahhhhh David's Bridal - Bridesmaid 81255 Strapless flat taffeta short dress with bubble hem and sash at waist. It's actually in the plum color, kinda purple Still learning how to post pics, sorry!
  7. MonoAmor, Do you guys have kids in your group I was told our choices were Dreams Cancun, Secrets SilverSands, & Barcelo Mayan Palace? If not cancun, hopefully one of those work out for you or that they come up with some more options for all us brides having to move...I mean we did choose Tulum for a reason & it just seems that none of the options given are even close or even in the area? Errrr, sorry just venting! Good luck to everyone & thanks for all the updates! Laura
  8. Congrats! You looked amazing, can't wait to see more pics!
  9. Congrats, glad everything worked out! You looked beautiful!
  10. I TOTALLY hear ya...we've almost canceled the wedding & just had one back home, but my fiance keeps reassuring me that we aren't changing what we want to do for our day b/c of all the havoc going on. The guests that originally RSVP'd for our wedding has dropped down to about half actually going now...our resort is closed (as of now), i feel some animosity from guests going just bc they are having to drop the $ for the trip, which makes me feel horrible! There are rumors that my company may be sold to one in India as well so I don't even know if I'll have a job come 1st of the year & my FI is a realtor, so we all know how that market is going right now!!! It's tough for everyone & I picked the worst time ever to get married I feel like (due to economy)
  11. You look absolutely amazing! What a great bridal party, that was a big group! Can't wait to see all the pics!
  12. Congrats & welcome!!!!!
  13. I love that we have awsome TA's one here to help us through this. My wedding is Dec. 7th...& the whole process with our TA has not been a good experience. I'm not even sure where to begin..but when I read Erika's post I felt like she read my mind! Our TA in the beginning was great, seemed she had tons to inform us on, answered alot of questions, wanted to meet all the time..then when we chose to continue the process & book with her its just gone down & I mean down from there. She's rude to our family on the phone, is extremely short when people call her (if she even answers) & just wants to email everything to them instead of discussing anything over the phone, which is great for some people but, surprising to some, my parents & FI grandparents don't use email or Internet much & she actually laughed at them for that. She gave us 3 days notice that eveyone had to RSVP, then i asked for invoices to be sent out or some info to our guests so they could start planning & saving $$ & 2 1/2 months went by! I called & emailed her 20 times that I'd really love for the invoices to be sent asap & she finally did send them out......4 days before the balances were due! In addition, when she initially quoted everyone prices & everyone RSVP'd...once she sent out the invoices all our guests prices were wrong and way higher...i asked her about & she snapped at me that all our guests were wrong & that whatever is on invoice is what she told them from the start. Well, i then had to print off every email (bc I had to finally ask her to "cc" me on every email since people were complaining her emails were rude) & then highlight all the prices she originally quoted my guests, which then she admitted "Apple" must have messed up when she was pulling prices again & went ahead & fixed the prices back to what she originally said. I could go on forever..its been a mess, but were too far into this to switch from her now. Just really disappointing since this is a first time alot of our guests have dealt with a TA & showing how amazing our TA's on this forum are, I hate to think they are going to think this is how working with one is. Sorry...geez, apparently I needed to vent hahahahaha. Basically, Ericka..I feel your pain!
  14. Welcome! You'll find so much helpful info here!!! Good luck
  15. I haven't seen it anywhere, but a few similar a some bridal stores & they fit really nicely! Its a beautiful dress, good luck!
  16. I don't really mind changing mine either, its Nielsen, so pretty un-original...my fiance is Italian so his name is more fun! But I do understand the tght of changing it & the first time I saw my friend write it out for fun, was really weird & frightening!
