  1. Have fun with it!! I found I really enjoyed dress shopping. Just make sure not to go on an empty stomach. Take lots of pictures for us and good luck!
  2. Very cute! I love the colors. Makes me want to do something like that... however first we would actually have to figure out the bridal party

  4. Those are amazing! They are so cute... I would be so excited to get those in the mail. Your guests will love them! Plus as others mentioned... STDs are generally more informal. Do you have any thoughts/plans for your actual invites? If they are a bit more formal... maybe your FI could mention that to the parents and it might not be such a big deal.
  5. Congrats! Good luck with your planning. You will find just about everything you need on here... and there are tons of Jamaica Brides to share notes with!
  6. Thanks! I was actually eyeing up the ones at Menswarehouse as well... planning on dragging the FI on a shopping trip next week while we are still on break to take a look at them!
  7. These are so fun! I love them!!!! I really want to do a TTD session... but my mom is completely against it! I think I'll have to find a second dress and maybe she'll go with it.
  8. I'm looking at Maggie's Treasure... it costs $717 plus alterations
  9. That is so cute! It's so fun to have a cute story!
  10. Thanks everyone for your repsonses and comments! I like both of the dresses... they are both light weight and would work... The second dress was my original pick and goes with my original idea of a simple beach wedding. (and budget) But I absolutely LOVE the first dress... it just felt right when I put it on and it has the corset back that I wanted! Quick question on the sample sale... is that something offered by the company or by the bridal shops? And how do you find out if and when they are offering them?
  11. I really love the red ones... but I am a bit more traditional and thought the white ones were really cute! So those were my vote.
  12. I voted for the jacuzzi because I think it would be really fun! But in reality I think you need to consider if it fits in your budget and if you will actually use it. I enjoy low key evenings and would see myself using it most nights... but I know other people who are hardly in the room at all.
  13. It looks beautiful!!! It's one of the two I am deciding between!
  14. At this point in time I have it narrowed down to 2 dresses (who knows... it may change again as I still have a year to go). Please let me know what you think... any comments/thoughts/preferences would be great! I think I am leaning towards the 1st one... I love the extra details and the back. But it costs a substantial bit more and there is something about the 2nd one that I like but can't put my finger on. I have been asking for opinions from fam/friends and its pretty much split 50/50... ah I'm too indecisive. Anyways... tell me what you think! Thanks Dress 1: Maggie Sottero Treasure -Front: -Train: -Back: The dress in store was too big... so no good pictures. It's a fun lace-up, corset type Dress 2: Gallina from DB -Front: (we added the pink ribbon which would match the BM... it'll be tacked better if we go with it) -Back:
  15. Ooh... good question. I was wondering the same thing after I found them on ebay. It makes me nervous to order this way ... but would defintely save some money if they are legit!
  16. I am trying to find attire for the GM and my FI. After seeing all the pictures on this site and others, I really want them to be in khaki/tan/beige "suits". My dad thinks me using "suits" is a bit overkill and thinks khaki dress pants with matching sportscoats is more realistic. (I know nothing about mens dress attire... and don't really see the difference). My wonderful FI is pretty much willing to do whatever, as long as I"m happy and he gets the final approval. I have a vision of what I want but am having difficutly finding it. For those of you who went the tan suit/sportcoat/what-not route... where did you get them from? also when did you get them? (I am hoping my difficulty in finding anything is due to the season and I'll find more once the spring stuff comes out?)
  17. Wow that is so beautiful! I love the idea of Bridal Portraits!
  18. Thanks everyone! Not exactly sure how to post pictures... but here's my attempt. (The dress was way too big...so unfortunately no idea of how the back will really look. But it's a lace-up, corset type which I really wanted! The train is also kind of nice because the underpart of the dress ends at the ground so then the train is just the lace overlay, making it nice and flowy.
  19. Hi everyone... I just went dress shopping for the second time and am so glad I did! During my first trip I thought I found "the dress" but tonight I know I found it! The first one was beautiful but it is a little to simple for what I want. Tonight I tried on the Maggie Sottero dress called Treasure! It was beautiful and had all aspects I wanted in a dress. Now I'm just wondering if anyone else has worn this dress and has any pictures to share?? I would just like to see how it photographs and looks on the beach. Also, I am thinking the diamond white but am curious what the other color choices would look like. Thanks!
