Not sure if it still works... but a couple weeks ago I used cheaptotes and got 10% off.

Argh... I am so sick of snow!!!!! Makes me wonder why I still live in Minnesota! I must admit... at first I was laughing because the forcast was it would just hit the TC. But then it moved its way on up to Duluth this afternoon/evening... and now I have to go shovel.

I don't blame you at all... I would be so mad! Like Morgan I understand that there are only so many months in a year and that someone close to me will be getting married nearby.... and that not all of our closests friends will be able to attend for various reasons. But this girl... seriously.. WTF? Plus IMO if shes afraid to talk to you... she knows its wrong to have the Oct wedding and is feeling guilty about it. I'm sorry you have to deal w/ it!

They are. But the seagrape closes early (at like 5 or something). So if you want Seagrape to be open for the reception it costs $10/person. If you don't... then your guests woudl have to walk up to the other bars or something to get drinks.

Wow... I'm so sorry. I tried to be understanding after your first post and think it was just maybe a dress issue. But to blow off shopping not once, but twice is ridiculous! Seagrape is the beach bar. Its open during the day but usually closes at like 5 or something. For the reception (or welcome party of what not) it costs $10/person for an open bar. It's right on the beach (in the sand)... If you use the search function (upper right of the screen) and do seagrape you should be able to find more information and some photos from previous brides. There are lots of threads on ROR, including informaiton on flowers, music, and receptions in the Jamaica section. Also if you check out recent wedding reviews - some ROR brides just got back and left awesome reviews w/ photos.

Still looking for sunscreen I like ... but found some nice Aloe / After Sun stuff at the dollar tree! (12 oz bottles)

We are also going w/ the free package and upgrading what we want (ex. steel drum band) once we get down there. For the reception - as long as our group stays under 50 I think we will go w/ Mammee Bay for dinner and then on to Seagreape for dancing.

I agree.... just tell them the truth. Childcare is difficult, but 30 days notice sems like it should be significant notice.

I was just going to suggest what Alyssa did. Do they have an option of holding it right on the beach/sand? and if they do are you interested in it at all? I think that is what we are going to do. I personally loved the idea... seemed to fit our whole theme. I asked a few of my friends/fam for their opinion and if they would dance... and they all loved the idea! Where else could you do that? But if you want a dance floor, I say go for it! You only get to do this once. As long as you can budget for it... you mind as well have what you want! : )

I agree w/ what Morgan said. It took a while for the RIU to have 2009 bookings available... the email said it was because they were still waiting to confirm judges. Hopefully they figure it out soon for you!
