Hello everyone! How did you and your wedding party get from Point A to Point B on your wedding day? I am having the ceremony/dinner at a different hotel than the reception. I was trying to research limo companies or non-taxi transportation for me and groom and our large wedding party (12 of us total). I know that shuttle options are out there (however one shuttle company thought that it might be a tight fit for 12 of us including my dress ), I was curious if anyone had heard of anything else? I would ideally just need it for a drop off from Hyatt to Fiesta Americana Condesa around 8 and then a pick-up around 12:30 or so. Does anyone have any recommendations? I can't find much info on this so any help would be great, thanks!!

Congrats- Hilton was one of the places I checked out when I was doing site visits and the hotel is GREAT!! I am so glad it was amazing! I keep reminding myself to not stress (easier said than done) about planning, because everyone says once you get down there that it is relatively stress free . I am also doing La Europea- do you think you can go in a day or two before the wedding and order the alchohol or did you order it further in advance? Also, out of curiosity, what is it by as a point of reference- by the big mall in hotel zone? Thanks and congrats again!

I have him booked for my wedding in February and he has been amazing to work with over emails. We did the wire transfer to him also with no problems and I believe the rest is due the day of the wedding. I can't wait!

I agree with everyone else- this place looks amazing!! If my wedding wasn't 2 months away and booked already I would definitely consider changing, this will be such a beautiful location!! congrats!

Hi ladies, thanks for the advise. I will check with them to see if they also do shuttle/limo transfers on the day of the wedding for bride groom/bridal party. I got a quote for a limo for 250 per hour, so I thought I'd see what other services and options were out there. Do you think these companies would be good for nice transporation for a wedding in Cancun, or is it geared more towards tours and airport shuttles? Thanks for the help! I just want it to be nice enough to get us from a to b, but not nec. a taxi.

Hi everyone. I am finally able to take some time and share with you details planned about my Feb 2009 wedding, in case it helps any of you in your planning. I have benefited so much from everyone else, so thanks for posting- this forum is the best! Wed and Thurs: meet with coordinators, do errands like buy alcohol at La Europea, and have fun ..also a Shower for me and a guys fishing trip...and a rehearsal dinner at Linecello (I think I spelled that right) Friday: Ceremony: Beach cove Hyatt Cancun Caribe Dinner: Hyatt Blue Bayou Restaurant with saxophonist, food and tres leches cake comes with 3 hours of alchohol included. Reception: At 8 pm at Fiesta Americana Condesa Condesa- Kambu Restaurant with large open air feel. We will place large bamboo pieces in the room and tall vases with flower and floating candles. We will also be placing candles in the fountain, and there will be tiki torches outside...so hopefully it will add to the ambience and provide enough light to see. We will bring alchohol and do a corkage fee with mixer. Transportation: Taxis for guests lined up, and hoping to confirm a limo to transport bride and groom and bridal party During the reception we will have Fire Dancers at 9 pm- Sarao Company DJ- Carlos with Mannia Julieta Flores for flowers My dress: Mori Lee can be seen at Bridal Gowns Informal bridal bridesmaids Prom Flower Girl Quinceanera Stores. But I have gotten it altered a bit so it looks a tad different than in the picture. Groom: He went back and forth but decided against a linen suit and went for a Black Tux from Jos A Bank (they are having great holiday deals btw!). The 5 groomsmen and my my brother who will be doing a reading will be wearing black slacks with white button down shirt and a tie with beige/stripes. They will all wear orchid boutineers. The dads will just wear black suits and have a tropical boutineer. Bridesmaids: The girls will be wearing Badgley Mischka dresses in different styles- 950001, 9500011, 950210, . I gave them different options all in the buttercup color. They will have a bouqet of greens and pink orchids. My sister will have an orchid in her hair. So far we have 55 confirmed hooray! We have so many details: OOT bags- all items are at my mom's so I will post pictures after the wedding..but mainly consist of koozie's, candy, welcome letter, flip flops, and many other goodies that I am forgetting about. We will have raffia fans to place on chairs with ceremony details outlined. I also have items like a glass jar for guests to write a thought/advice and place in jar for us... We are bringing hot pink parasols for photos, then will probably place a few around reception to add to the decor. I am also going to be printing up signs to put around resort, and also little personal touches in the bathroom by the reception to make it appear more spa like. I will post pictures as I can figure out how to do them.... That's all for now, hope it helps!!! Christy

Ug...I am so sorry about all of the added stress around the wedding! I have to say that you and your new hubby look amazing!! I love your both your dress and his suit- you both look amazing and happy . Congratulations!

April I was reading through the post and was so sorry about your father. Please hang in there and take care of yourself as much as possible. And at least you have something happy to look forward to and a fabulous fiance to help you through. Hang in there!

Wow, everyone thanks for the comments! I originally started this thread and hadn't been able to check it for a few days, I had no idea there was such an interactive conversation going on! I really, really appreciate all of the insight and examples of the pictures- thanks!!!!

Some hotels offer a free nights stay with package- so I am using that to stay the night before with mom or girlfriends and use that room to get ready in...and the boys can use his to get ready in.

Oops sorry- I missed the last sentence about not wanting to rent a car. There are some shuttle companies on this forum listed (do a general search) which people have have used on their wedding and would be able to help you!

We just rented a car and found it really useful to have one! If you are going outside the hotel zone in Cancun (which you are) you may find it cheaper and easier to rent a car versus using a shuttle (just a thought). We rented ours Riviera Maya- for the most part everything was really straightforward and easy to find! Have fun on your site visits- we had such a blast!!

What time of day did you do your TTD pictures- morning or late afternoon (around 5). What time would you recommend and what are the advantages/disadvantages that you saw with that time of day? Besides sleeping in, I am not sure what the advantages would be to doing it later around 5 Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone. I haven't heard of too many brides that have gotten married at Hyatt Cancun Caribe. After site visits and much, much debating...the final verdict is... we are getting married on the beach at the Hyatt and then having dinner and cake at the Hyatt Blue Bayou Restaurant (which is beautiful if you haven't seen it and willl accomodate larger groups!). We then decided to do something a bit different and move the reception around 8 to the Fiesta Americana Condesa Kambu restaurant for dancing/DJ and fire dancers. We just loved the feel of the Kambu Restaurant with the open air, and very tall palapa and so we managed to somehow get both Hyatt and FAC locations within our budget. For those of you considering either place...they have been great to work with. The Hyatt's new wedding coordinator, Brenda, has been responsive to all of my questions and really willing to work with what your budget is. I am slowly getting everyone else booked: will be booking Martha Roque for pictures, booked Sarao for fire dancers, booked Carlos with Mannia Audio/Videa for DJ, and booking Julieta Flores for flowers. Wow...that is a lot of work finally paying off!! Hooray! If anyone has any questions on the locations or vendors let me know- I'm happy to help!

I have done some searching on the forum and I was wondering if any of you had orchids in Cancun? I soo have my heart set on orchids for at least my fiance's bt. and the bridesmaids flowers. But the quotes I have started getting are insanely high! For those of you who ordered orchids..... does 150 dollars per bridesmaid bouqet for a bouqet of pink Cymbidium Orchids (and I have 5 total!!) seems high? Does this seem high to anyone else or is this fairly reasonable in Cancun? Does anyone have any quotes that they got on similar flowers from local vendors? Thanks everyone!

Hi- I got some quotes for the fire dancers and we will definitely be having them- hooray! The first quote that I got from Sarao Special Events was for a full performance- 4 fire drum performers, 2 dancers and 2 fire jugglers and the cost came to around 1500 USD. But I was able to ask for a different package with only 2 dancers for around 20 minutes for around $500...very reasonable! Their website is Sarao Producciones
