  1. OMG KevsGrl, that is horrible. I dont' blame you for feeling that way about your FSIL. And I think its pretty bogus that she's not coming. She's going to miss out in the end. Unfortunatley, you cannot control other people; you can only control how you respond to it. I hate to say this but I feel like you have to be the bigger person and suck it up and go to her shower. I'm really sorry they're making this so difficult for you.

  3. I am SOOO impressed. Congrats! I'm going to try the cleanse starting on Monday. I only want to lose maybe 5-8 lbs so I'm not sure if/how it will work. i just need someting to get me over my hump. CONGRATS!
  4. My fiance and I are waiting until we get back for two reasons. 1 I just really want it to feel like the real thing when I walk down the aisle/beach and 2 we are getting married in Dec. Its so close to the end of the year that it just makes sense to wait until January to do the legal stuff b/c my fiance makes a lot more money than i do and i might as well wait one more year to be taxed at his tax bracket. Nice reason, right? Ha!! Anyway, we're doing it a few weeks after we get back. I figure if we did it 'legal' in Mexico it would take several months to be legal in the US so its still quicker!!!
  5. Kevsgirl- I'm so sorry to hear about your situation with your friend. Thoughts and prayers coming your way! I agree- this thread has been QUIET. I am feeling a bit stressed. We are making passport invites and still haven't gotten them done. I think we are going to have to stay home this holiday weekend to get them done. This past weekend I ordered my veil and bought sand ceremony stuff but that was it. I need to get on the horn to still do the following: - purchase garter, guys' shirts, custom cups, custom shot glasses, attendant and parent gifts, tulle for gazebo, paper lanterns. And i still need to make DIY: invites, iron on OOT bags, welcome letters, menu, program, placecards, photoshare cards. And I'm sure a million other things. 3 1/2 months. YIPES!
  6. At the edge of my seat for the rest! It looks beautiful!!!
  7. Good luck Nrsgrrl!! I'm skeptical about KEEPING the weight off much more than losing it in the first place. i hope it works for you and I cant wait to hear about it! Are you starving?
  8. I haven't heard of someone conducting it but i have been thinking that I'm going to do one at my actual wedding. Just set up a table after dinner (and hopefully everone has a full tummy. and then put out some high end tequilla we'll buy and also roll out the customized shot glasses we're going to have made (as favors). We'll make a "Tequila Tasting" sign in the same style as our menus, placecards, etc. will post pics when i get to this (probably not until Oct or Nov).
  9. Thank you, Amesharpe, for the link on the ligting under the table. I'll confirm with Landy as well on price. Would love not to shlepp it down there. Congratulations Sunbride. You TOTALLY deserve the recognition! PS I didn't get a confirmation number either. Just email from Sandra confirming date. Hmm... I'm not too worried though. They're pretty understanding.
  10. amesharpe- i was thinking of doing the undertable lighting as well. what are you planning on using to do that? what are you bringing with you and how many/much? SGBrown- Yes, unless in the ballroom its supposed to end at 10:30. There's always the disco afterwards... your party can make the party.
  11. Sandra told me we could use the resort videographer for a longer period since we won't be using the resort photographer. They seem pretty flexible about exchanges but def no refunds! cant wait to get the Q&A answers from Landy! Thanks for gathering that for us, Neen!
  12. Neen- that is GORGEOUS! Monica- thanks for the tip on the tulle. Would be awesome if they kept the orchids. From the sounds of it- they're not so good at this part:) Quote: Originally Posted by neen i love monica's gazebo design, but instead of hanging orchids I bought the hanging green and blue disk shells from World Market...I'll find a pic. 13. Great pics, Monica. GORGEOUS Question for you- did they decorate the gazebo like that or did you have to bring the fabric to cover the whole thing? I'm so confused about how much fabric/tulle they actually have vs. what needs to be brought with you. The pic of your flower girls toes are so cute!

  15. New Mrs- Sunbride. She has been UNBELIEVABLELY helpful to the Dreams Tulum brides. Made an incredibly valuable, totally organzied new thread with anything and everything DT. SHE ROCKS!
  16. THANK YOU SUNBRIDE. You are AMAZING. lgarner83- i did a site visit there and its pretty chill at night. The disco could be fun and rowdy but probably only if you brought a great crowd to take it over. Its beautiful and there is opportunity for wildness. My wedding party is definitely a crazy group so I know we will make a good party wherever we go. If I understood the instructions I think we're all supposed to sum up our details in this format: Username: amy706 Names (optional, first names only) - Amy Date & Time December 5, 2008 at 4pm Number of guests 63 booked and counting... Coordinator: Sandra so far, although I suppose it will be Landy now but I haven't connected with her yet. Ceremony location: Gazebo by the seaside grill Reception location: beach by the seaside grill Photographer: Citalli from Claudia Rodriguez Videographer: we're using what comes with the Ultimate Package Review (link): only from our site visit - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t14954 Photos (link) Video (link) Special arrangements / activities: We are doing a trip to the Tulum ruins with our guests on Wed (2 days before wedding) for anyone who wants to go. we'll pay for the taxis and the entry, walk around for an hour and then meet back up on the beautiful beach there at the ruins and hang out there for a few hours. Thursday we are having a welcome sunset cruise. We're going though: Private Sunset Cruise in the Riviera Maya
  17. I just got an email back from Mezzanine. They said: Hola Amy, We confirm that Mezzanine has not been seized. Our guests are still enjoying their cocktails poolside and our restaurant and bars remain open to the public. Like several other hotels along the same beach we do have a giant tape in front of the hotel but we are expecting to have the tape removed within the next few days. We thank you for your patience:)
  18. Thank you for the information. I had no idea. Ironically enough my fiance and I just booked Mezzanine for 3 days after our wedding (in Dec). F*$K. Hopefully this all works out. As long as Dreams Tulum isn't effected, I'll survive if the mezzanine is closed. SO CRAZY THOUGH!

  20. YAY TRACY! I have been thinking about this too so I am glad you started it! I have NOT sent invites yet. I did boarding pass for STD and I'm planning on doing passports for the invitation. I have a template but I haven't finished it, wording, pics, etc. I also want to make vistaprint postcards for the RSVPs and I need to order that- it takes a long time to get. I will post my big to do list later! and things already done! YAY! I'm excited ot have one for Dec Brides. My date is 12/5/08!
  21. I"m pretty sure its MUCH cheaper once you get there- like 40/night vs. hundred ahead of time but I cant remember exactly.
  22. GLENDA!!!!! Your pictures are gorgeous! I cannot believe all of that sh*t happened to you. What a memory!!! Holy cow! You look great and it all worked out in the end but man o man!!! I just read Mike some of the highlights and showed him the pictures too- he couldnt believe it either!!!
