  1. Hi there... I am a MP bride, getting married in April. We are doing an outside reception and not doing chair covers as the white slatted chairs that they use look nice enough. We may do some table runners to add a little more color to the tables (she said we could bring our own) and I am still waiting for pricing on the flowers. Depending on how many tables you have, it can get expensive... I think that we were quoted 3 tabletop for $180 or something like that. How many guests are you having? Are you doing something outside or in a ballroom? I am also going to do very colorful menus for each place setting to dress up the table a bit... add some extra color without a major expense. Good luck!
  2. I went to the Atlantis a couple of years ago and had an amazing time! You have to eat at the restaurant with the walls that are the aquariam (oceania, maybe?) and go through the "underwater dig" or whatever they call it. It was great. The pp's are absolutely right - it is super expensive, I think buffet dinner was $60 a person or something like that, but with that said the food was fantastic. There is a smaller beach off to the left past the children's pool that is on more of a lagoon and it is awesome! Make sure that you buy a pina colada from the guys who walk around the beach... they'll hack open a coconut and make you the drink right in the shell. So cool. HAVE FUN!!! And congrats on your great performance
  3. I am having a buffet at my DW in Cancun, and will be making a menu card for each place setting. I figure it will add another splash of color to the table.
  4. i live by hungry girl! their recipes are awesome! i'm checking out dottie now. thanks!
  5. This is great! I am always looking for healthy recipes... esp 87 days before the beach! Thanks for posting this!
  6. We are actually getting the the day after your wedding! How long will you be staying? So far we've chosen our menu (buffet, as we'll be doing the outside private reception) and that is pretty much it. We know which gazebo we'll be getting married in, where the cocktail reception will be, and where the dinner reception will be. That is pretty much it. Oh, and we are doing the free package but adding the horse & carriage, the mariachi for the cocktail reception and the DJ for the private reception. I sent my WC some pics of centerpieces and am waiting on some pricing, that's pretty much it though!
  7. That's a great idea, Tami. Very sweet, people will love that!
  8. I agree with pp, I'd call it the rehearsal dinner as well. Most oot guests usually get invited to it, so why not since everyone will be oot?
  9. It has only been hard for my parents because strangely neither of them can remember the name of the song. Unbelievable. Everyone else though I did exactly as pp suggested and just said I was trying to figure out ours.
  10. For those of you who have guests flying into the Cancun Airport, did you book a specific transfer company for your guests? Do you have any tours that you are planning that you can recommend?
  11. Do any of you know of... a. a liquor store in the area to buy decent wine & champagne... b. a place to buy OOT stuff once we get there rather than lugging it down to Mexico? We'll have a rental car!
  12. Have you gotten into the details yet? Chosen flowers, cake, menus, etc? Care to share?
  13. I've been secretly trying to find out what songs each of our guests danced to as their first dance for their wedding (parents, aunts, siblings & other married couples) and I was going to put them together as the songlist for the DJ to play at dinner as a little surprise... is this a cool idea or is it lame and we'll be listening to a lot of sappy songs at dinner? We'll have about 12-15 married couples there and will just switch over to jazz or something once they are done.
  14. Don't panic! Good luck with all of your planning.
  15. Welcome to the board! Good luck with everything!
  16. Yup, the one I am thinking of is on the Watters website, style #9826. They show it in black and white.
  17. I think that Watters has a bridesmaid dress that looks like that - you can order it in all white I believe. Check their site!
