  2. My TTD only lasted an hour but we just did it outside the hotel. I bought a cheaper TTD but like Kat said, the TTD dress was in better shape than my wedding gown when I got home!
  3. I went to a wedding like this last year. I wore a tea length semiformal dress with a cute shrug for the ceremony. I took off the shrug for the reception. In between we toured the town since we were just driving in for the day and didn't have a hotel. We also grabbed a quick snack at another hotel lounge so my dress didn't look to out of place.
  4. Oh Yuck! What is with some of these trashy weddings? I forget what they call it, some slang word? Any UK brides help me out here?
  5. There are no minimum stay requirements to marry in PR. You will need to apply for a marriage license in PR which does require your birth certificate, id, and blood tests. The tests can be done on the mainland (no more than 14 days prior) but will need to be certified by a PR physician. Many of the wedding planners in PR can arrange this for you. You cannot get the paperwork prior to your arrival so you may need a stop of at least a day. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
  6. I was married in June at The Gallery Inn. I wouldn't recommend The Gallery but I love, love that we chose PR and did not find it to be any more expensive than other destination wedding locations.

Just as with any city there are some areas that are not as nice as others but overall I would say it is safe. There is also a large police presence, especialy in the tourist areas to ensure publuc safety.
  8. Welcome Holly! I was married in PR this June. PM me if you have any questions.
  9. Perez is reporting that a SATC II is in the works. I agree, the books are not as good as the show.
  10. I can't remember exactly but I believe it was more than $100/person. You should be able to get exact amounts online.
  11. Most of my guests stayed five days. Monday-arrival no planned activities Tuesday- welcome dinner Wednesday-planned excursion, rehearsal dinner Thursday-wedding day Friday-planned excursion Saturday-goodbye breakfast We tried to give people time on their own to explore our location, which was not AI.
  12. There is no way to change your arrival date? Having the policy waived in writing should be sufficient. I would keep all emails, obtain the written exception, and confirm, confirm, confirm! Everything will be fine
  13. My DH talked about setting something like this up but didn't. I'm sure many brides would be interested in how this works though. Keep us updated.
