  1. So I'm obviously late on this, but I LOVE the sweetheart one. It is just beautiful on you, completely compliments you and just looks perfect. That's just my opinion!
  2. I just bought extensions a few weeks ago and love them! I bought real hair, the types that clip in and they were $250.00. There are probably 8 or so "pieces" that came in the set, some with three sections of extensions, some that are singles. I took them to my stylist to do a trial run (yes, a trial run before I do a trial run in Cabo...I'm that worried about my hair!) and they looked awesome. She only put in a few of the pieces, but it added quite a bit of lenght, my hair looked fabulous in a pony tail, I have shoulder-length hair right now, and then she did a few attempts at differnet styles. I will post pics so you can see the ponytail extension, and then what I looked like with them just in regular. Honestly, I will probably be using them in the future, they are so much fun! But definitely buy the real hair, and don't get the ones that are glued/sealed into your hair b/c it causes way too much long term damage. Oh, and I bought mine at a wig store!

So the ribbons are attached to the circle part and hang down, and they just put a neutral color table cloth under it so it wouldn't look obvious. This would totally be a doable DIY project for someone who can sew a bit! Thanks Ladies! We had a blast! I just thought the decor was so great and would work for so many of us that are on the forum!
  4. So I was so wowed with how the hosts of our Couples Shower created the ambiance and decor of the event, I wanted to share for inspiration! It was an overall fiesta theme, serving Mexican food, margaritas, a guitar duo, etc. But I was totally in love with the decor. It was beautiful and casual, very festive without being overpowering or loud. I truly loved it all and thought that the colors, flowers etc might be able to help. It would be especially lovely for an AHR. And the favors were those animal shakers, placed at each place setting and were a total hit. I had been to a wedding in Mexico where they passed out these shakers at around 11pm and they were so much fun, definitely added some flare to the dance floor. Enjoy! Outside dinner seating: Closer view: Dinner Buffet (those sunflowers were gorgeous!): Up close of the shakers/favors: My favorite part: custom bride & groom pinatas that match our eye & hair color...those were real flowers on the bouquet and the veil! We saved them, and took pictures of them which will go on our wedding favors (cookies) for our guests! These were placed on the gift table. They look a little creepy in the pictures though.

  7. Thank you! I'll play with those and see what works best for the sizing of the cookie! Gracias! ha!

  9. Ok, I have a new phrase I need translated please! "Happily Ever After" Thank you!!!!
  10. I'm going to agree with Bridget on this one. My wedding is 20 days away (WOW!) and I have three couples who still haven't booked their flights, and one guest whose plans just changed, so she's attending now. I would say that there are always those guests who are ready to go and book early, and there are those that keep waiting, hoping to find the best deal, yada yada and end up booking three weeks out. My RSVP date was October 1, 2007 by the way, and I had 75 people who didn't make that deadline. You have to be really proactive with your guests, depending on the number of guests you invite. I definitely have sent "friendly reminders" to our guests about needing an RSVP count, and still have some people who just never respond. Frankly, it drives me crazy and I find it rude that someone can't take two minutes out of their day to check Yes or No and stick something in the mail, but that's just me venting. When in doubt, make the deadline early but not so early people forget about it.

  12. OMG I finally got to see the slideshow! I love it. Seriously it gets me so excited for our wedding. Thank you Leigh! My fave picture is the couple walking over that bridge with the palm trees and the beach in front. LOVE IT. Hooray for pictures!
  13. What about floating candles? Or flowers? My event coordinator is doing some sort of floating stations at the terrace level which has some fountains, and I don't really know exactly what she's doing, but something like rectangular floats with candles and flowers on them? I will have pictures to show after the wedding of course! But I do love the luminaries too.
  14. What a great problem to have! I agree with the others, find some back up locations, research them and have them ready in case they are needed. When is your RSVP date? I would calculate the odds of XX more guests accepting before the date, and then figure out where that puts you in terms of # of rooms needed. And remember, usually someone won't be able to make it, something comes up. On the other hand, we just had a guest have a change of plans, and now, 20 days before the wedding, she's coming! So it works both ways. Don't panic, but do your research and you'll be fine!
  15. That's fabulous! I almost bought the wax monogram thing from Paper Source just couldn't see FI & I sitting down with a glue gun sealing thank-you cards! This is a great alternative. Thanks!

Oh, we have to fly back to DFW (which is where I live) to get from SJD to Belize. So we're flying from SJD to DFW on Sunday, will stay home that evening, do laundry, repack, etc and then fly out on Monday from DFW to Belize. AA is having a sale right now on tickets from DFW to Belize, so it might be worth looking into!
  18. We will be in Cabo for a week for the wedding. Then it's off to Belize for 8 nights! SOO excited about that. Then, we come back, I move to Denver (FI is already up there), and we're taking a weekend in the mountains of Colorado at a private home and getting legally married! It's going to be like 3-4 weeks of just pure fun!

  22. We decided to wait and do all pictures after the ceremony. We just want to keep that anticipation. I was also afraid that if we do before pictures, since many of our guests are staying very close to us, they would see us before the ceremony as well. And as a guest, I love that anticiaption of seeing the bride & groom nervous and so excited to see each other. Although I wish we could do some shots before, b/c I'm afraid we're going to lose the light! We'll just have to do them very quickly!
