  1. Can you take alcohol down to Mexico?? We are staying in a non AI resort so we thought if we could we'd take a bottle of wine with us just to make sure we have something that is good and inexpensive to drink in the room on our first night there... I know you can bring something like 2 liters back into the country but I've never thought about taking alcohol into Mexico...

I can't believe the count down is less than 24 hours! We have so much to do!
  3. Heidi, that's awesome - CONGRATS!!!!

So excited for you. We've tried the cooking together thing before but I usually end up running Martin out of the kitchen (control freak much?! haha). We're going into it with a completely different mindframe this go around though so I'm happy Christine - we are hoping to adopt a Westie puppy! I haven't said much cause it's been a long process but in the end we settled on a great Westie Rescue Org in Oklahoma. This is the little 9 wk old we hope to adopt (her name is Keeley): Available Westies Keep your fingers crossed for us that she's still there when we get back because they don't "hold" the dogs for people. We've already passed the home visit test so if she's there when we get back (we're going on the 22nd) we get her! We really want a female puppy and she's the only one available right now. Once they grow up and get their full coats in they are soooo cute! Quote: Originally Posted by StephanieMN OMG we are going through the same thing. I've always looked forward to growing older - I'm weird like that I guess ;P Quote: Originally Posted by Raeka OK that was really alarming jamie. And just think you'll be getting married in PV soon too! You're going to love it. Who knows maybe you and martin need this time alone together. Just remember to relax with one another. Dinners at home are great for this. We try to not eat with the TV on, we talk so much more. It's great company. WOOHOO PV!! Have fun! Sorry to scare you! I was scared too!!! You're going to check out the Mayan Palace in PV right? Will its very pretty...I love the pools... I know you guys will have a great time. Drea - Awe you're sweet to cry for me! lol Yep, we're going to visit the Mayan Palace and Las Caletas, among others. Can't wait! Send good healing thoughts out there for me so I can be on the top of my game! Quote: Originally Posted by twinkletoes I'm glad everything worked out for you guys! I know your determined to have a site visit, but just from my perspective, it hasn't been worrisome planning the wedding without one. I have never been to Las Caletas and I haven't been too concerned about it either. It looks beautiful and sounds beautiful. This forum has helped disappate any worries that I did have. Believe me, before this forum I used to worry that I was being scammed somehow (funny I know, but FI and I are such gullible people. We almost always take the person's word for it.) I somewhat know how you feel when it comes to money too. My parents are paying for nearly half our wedding and FI and I are going to Las Vegas next month. We will probably get legally married while we are there, but still...I feel bad that my parents are paying for half of the wedding since I'm barely out of school and we are taking OUR money and having fun with it. They don't seem to care and encourage us to have fun (hey, that's parents. They want the best for their children.) I feel bad though. Hang in there. Thanks Rachel! Well guys, Martin and I just made our decision... Drum roll please.............. WE'RE GOING!!!!!!! Off to work tonight and then packing our bags tomorrow. And we've decided not to get each other anymore gifts and make the puppy our Christmas present. We've already asked for Petsmart giftcards for Xmas, hahah. (And I'm putting money in the puppy fund for "just in case" incidences.) Our main guilty pleasure was going out to dinner and for drinks (like almost every night!) so we are stopping that RIGHT NOW and making dinner at home. Grocery store and cooking books here I come!!! LOL I'm also going to give my dad some money today just to help ease things. Basically we really just need to switch our priorities around. Ahhh, growing up. Anyways, I am so excited. Trying not to feel guilty at all. But this is something we both really want to do and feel it is necessary if at all possible so we're going to make it happen! The best thing is we've learned something from all of this. Now, time to go make some sales tonight! Thanks for everyone's support and sorry for the false alarm.
  6. It's a combination of things. I'm still sick but I think I could swing it. However, we have some looming financial things that we just found out about. Also, we were planning on adopting a puppy (have everything set up for it) just after we returned and I'm not sure we can do both now with the information we just received. I just checked our school calendar and it looks like we will have off from May 3-26th. That should be plenty of time to save up the money and reschedule our site visit. Everything just seems so rushed. We need to decide ASAP if we are going to reschedule or not. I've been bawling my eyes out (lol, I'm a girl of course ) trying to figure this out. Even if we go up there right now there's no way we can pay for a deposit on the site right now. However, I am afraid that if we don't go now we won't get to go in time to book the date we want, and I refuse to book site unseen. It's a long story and there's so much more to this. I'm so conflicted right now. My Dad just called and said to go ahead and go but I feel bad about going when we're having a hard time financially. Since I'm still in college my Dad helps out a LOT with bills, etc. but this trip had come out of Martin and mine's own money. I know it would help my dad out a ton though if we gave him the money. If this sounds confusing, it is. Martin and I are both totally confused on what to do - we've gone back and forth about 10 times in the last hour, lol. I've just got to have faith that it will all work out the way it's supposed to.
  7. I'll explain more later but I am super bummed right now

So next month, Vegas here we come. Still sick but getting better bit by bit. Today was my first time out of the house (besides the doctor's). I've never been to Vegas - have fun! I will definitely take lots of pics in PV.
  9. YAHOOOOOO!!!!! My roommate just came in (weird, cause he never comes home from lunch) with a huge package that had been left for me! He looked at me like I was a little crazy as I jumped around the room saying "YAY! It must be my Secret Santa!!!!!" hahahahaha Tami (foxytv) Thanks soooo much! I love my gifts!!!!! Here are pics: I'm actually glad you got us something other than Merlot because recently our tastes have been moving more towards Cabernet and Shiraz - this blend looks YUMMY! So do you rep for a wine company? That's so cool. I am so excited to finally have some wine charms! I can't wait til Martin and I can sit down by the fire with wine in the glasses you gave us eating the yummy chocolates. THANKS!!! P.S. OK LADIES, You may NOW begin your future planning!!!
  10. Hey now, you guys have to wait for me to get my gift before you start planning the next round!!!!! hahaha jk

Martin brought me home a Get Well balloon w/a really sweet card and roses. What a sweetie. Now off to bed for some much needed sleep!!!!

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get them up - I've got sooo much to do, it's completely stressing me out. I will try to asap tho
  13. Jeez, there are soooo many of them. I've been looking at them an hour and I don't think I'm even 1/2 way through...
  14. Woohooo!!! Just as I was starting to sit here feeling completely sorry for myself over being so sick the doorbell rang and it was FedEx with our Engagement Pics CD!! I've got soooo many pics to go through. If there are any good ones (other than those already posted) I'll post 'em up here.

  16. I think of it like I'm visiting the busy streets of Manhattan - look straight ahead and don't make eye contact.

However, we figure at the very least it is definitely worth checking out and would be a fun group tour to do. Nicole just sent over the proposal for 40 people and I am very pleasantly surprised at the cost!!! It definitely sounds like a great option. QUESTION: How many of you received hesitation from your guests about the boat ride?? That is my main concern right now.

  21. Thanks everyone! I just got back from the doc and he said to go ahead and start on the antibiotics and he gave me something that will hopefully help me to sleep better. I'm praying that I am well by this weekend! Speaking of congestion and plane rides - who has some good tips for helping out congested ears when you're in the air and on the descent?? I'm definitely going to take some afrin spray. I'm so glad we aren't leaving today - I'd be miserable and probably have to reschedule!!!
