I was thinking that from something else you posted a while back but didn't ask about it at the time. he seems like a cool guy...my sister totally got me hooked on that show a while back and now I'm a pretty serious Jagger show fan. I actually listened to them back at the Edge, but think they're way better now at the new station. Actually the guy I'm talking about is Emil Cerullo from The New You Show but yes we do know Pugs too - him and Emil are really good friends Very cool! Yeah, that was awesome. He told us stories about growing up with Picasso. Amazing! He's 80 and talks in a really thick French accent all the while cussing like a sailor. LOL Such a cute guy!
  3. Thanks for the review! I love the Westin Puerto Vallarta - good to know the one in Cancun is nice too
  4. It keeps going up here as well but it sounds like we're not doing too bad comparatively. My car is an Acura so it will only run on Premium - here Premium is at $3.81/gal. I think Regular is somewhere around $3.56/gal. Of course this varies WIDELY in and around Dallas. I try to buy my gas out in Arlington right by the college because it is normally about 10 cents cheaper than the equivalent station here in Dallas but right now even those prices are up! Now, if you go to Uptown to buy gas the prices are definitely up to $4/gal. You really have to be conscious about where you buy gas here.
  5. Hmm let's see. I've met a few famous artists through our gallery: Peter Max, Pierre Matisse (Henri Matisse's grandson), Alexandra Nechita (child prodigy), and Amanda Dunbar. You might recall Amanda Dunbar from Oprah - she was also a child prodigy. I actually know her fairly well, as we're the same age and my Dad and her exhibited in the same gallery some years back. Saw U-2's lead singer (so bad, can't think of his name right now) while out entertaining Pierre Matisse. We sat next to Troy Aikman last week at dinner. OH, my friend (who does PR for our gallery) met Charles Barkley and they exchanged numbers. Well, a week or two ago she was over here and we had been drinking mimosas all day. FI thinks it's super cool that she has his number so she called him and put it on speaker phone. It was pretty hilarious. He was TOTALLY hitting on her!! At one point I accidentally bust out laughing so she took it off speaker phone - lol. FI has met Marc Cuban a couple times. He also met Jay from Jay & Silent Bob when our gallery hosted an AFI event. FI bartends for our gallery and said he came up and asked if we had Red Bull. We didn't so he left. lol We also know a lot of local celebs - mainly radio personalities as one of my Dad's best friend has a show on 105.3 (for those of you in Dallas). Dallas is a good place for celeb sitings.
  6. Aww how cute. Is it just me or does date #2 look a little like Kirsten Dunst in the face?? That's so cool that he ended up with TWO dates! LOL OH and your house looks cute!
  7. Yay, congrats! Pics please...
  8. Oh my gosh Edna, you poor thing!!!!! I am so sorry you're dealing with all this! BEST WISHES!!!!!
  9. ¡Buena suerte! I'm in the opposite boat as your FI. I took tons of Spanish all the way through my Senior year of college and I'm just now finishing up my first semester of French
  10. Edna, I'm so sorry!!!! What's wrong??
  11. SHOOT! I was really hoping that he was planning a big surprise for you... Happy Birthday AMY!!! Quote: Originally Posted by LadyP Happy birthday from me and my family. I'm like "No, it's too late now...you've lost the whole point of it" He hands me a card that is a picture of a piece of cake on the front .and then reaches in the fridge and goes and to go with it--and he pulls out my favorite kind of ice cream from our local custard place. He tried to say he bought the card before..I don't think so. So, I say thanks and give him a kiss and then I say I have to get back to bashing him on my BDW website..ha He's like..no you wouldn't do that..I'm like yes. It's just very hurtful sometimes. It's funny because last year he didn't have as many reminders and I was actually going to be gone on my birthday for my friend's bachelorette party in Vegas..and he hid a really pretty pink sapphire (he knew I liked that stone) with diamond ring from Helzberg in my suitcase along with a b-day card. Which was very sweet and the card said the next ring will be bigger...so that was even sweeter!! Because I knew it meant he was thinking of proposing soon...So, he just doesn't get it that all I really wanted was for him to tell me Happy Birthday or give me a card without me telling him. So, now he goes upstairs and I stay downstairs watching Oprah and That is so sweet what he did last year! I cannot believe he forgot your birthday this year!!!! My Dad forgot my Birthday one year. I was about 18 and had just returned from Mexico (senior trip). My friend's parents picked us up from the airport so I was already a little sad that my Dad wasn't at the airport. Came home, grabbed my old boyfriend from down the street and brought him back to my Dad's house. We were going to go out for some dinner with friends so I yelled up the stairs to my Dad asking if I could have $20. He yelled back (VERY GRUMPILY!) "FOR WHAT?!?" to which I replied "...my Birthday...". DEAD silence LOL And then he immediately softened up and said "oh... oh yeah, ok. sure, here you go" LMAO BAD DAD!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I don't have time to comment right now cause I've got to run to school (can't miss another class due to BDW! LOL) but I just wanted to say I'm sooo glad Lost is back and can't wait to join in the conversations!
  13. Mel - I am not sure. I know a couple years ago we were given a free trial to a site similar to what you're talking about here. I have a handy little APA book and have already sited almost all my sources but that would've definitely come in handy!!! On another note I AM SOOOO EXCITED! I tried REALLY hard last night to re-read the book and class notes on Integration (the part I'm having so much trouble on). I emailed my teacher my thoughts last night and here was her response: Jaime, This is excellent! If you can find a way to bridge these terms (either one or both deficit and value) so that it sheds new light on the problem of disease and airline travel, then you have more than satisfactorily integrated these disciplines! I think you are one of only a few who are making a real effort at trying to integrate according to the techniques I taught (and that are in Repko's book). I am so glad to see you working at achieving integration and I assure you that at this level (this is an INTRO. class) just working at it and trying your best to make sense of these terms and how they work with and/or against one another in relation to the problem will get you a favorable score on the integration portion of the rubric. You're doing well, so I don't want to derail your efforts by making suggestions other than keep going down the path you're on and I think you'll discover some interesting ways of seeing the problem in light of how these concepts interplay with one another. I'm happy to help if you have other questions or feel that you need more direction. Just let me know. Best, C. Romeo
  14. She is too cute! Love her little white sweater ~ enjoy the puppy-ness while you can

  17. Wrote 2 more pages today - 5 pages down! I just need 1 more page for Economics, 1 for Government and 1 for the Integration. I really need to get the Economics and Government sections complete today because I have no clue how to go about the Integration section and I have to work with my teacher over email to try and get it figured out... Oh, and I need some time to go to the Writing Center to have them check my APA format. I've always written papers in MLA style.
  18. YouTube - One Semester of Spanish - Love Song Follow up - "The Marty Show w/Spanish Mike": YouTube - The Marty Show - Spanish Mike
  19. How fun! Side note - my best friend in HS's name was Tessa, not a common name. Brings back good memories Welcome!
  20. I'm also getting married next May and FI and I were having the exact same questions! I think we've decided to send out STD magnets first, probably in June/July and then wait to send out the boarding passes as invites for the exact same reasons as you listed. I think the Pre-RSVP card is a great idea to get at least a preliminary "NO" count. Also, I don't think it's too early to send out the STD's. It gives guests plenty of notice and time to think about saving, planning, etc. Will your TA, hotel, etc. info somehow be included in the STDs so guests can go ahead and book when they want?
  21. "ringless in seattle" lol had to chuckle at that I haven't been without my E-Ring since we got engaged almost a year ago. That will be tough but you can do it! Do you have a wedding band yet that you could wear meanwhile...?
