Call me a conformist, a follower, or what you will but I decided to change my screen name to the one my Mom and Dad gave me. All the cool kids are doing it. Everybody knows me as Karen anyhow. I find it a lot easier when first names are used anyhoo.

Thanks for all the good wishes Everyone! It's been a great birthday so far and will be even better when I see my hubby later. Yesterday, My parents, brother, and Jay took me out to PF Changs for dinner and my mom made me a homemade coconut layer cake. Yum! I went to the spa this morning for sauna, mineral bath, and massage. Then my mom took me out for a nice lunch. I got a bunch of great gifts and cards. Last night, Jay appeased me and gave me his "little" present - the black leather Coach wristlet I've been wanting. It is so nice. I can't imagine what else he could have for me. Jay is taking me out for dinner tonight for either Mexican or Dominican. Thanks again everyone!

I don't know your friend but in my experience, most things that people do or don't do have nothing to do with us and usually is not personal. I would try to focus on all the good stuff that is happening in your life. If she is dropping the ball in terms of MOH duties then I would chat with her. But really, who she invites to her wedding is her business.

I think I just used regular Coppertone SPF 50 sunscreen except of course on my face. I forgot to put sunblock on my face before getting my makeup done and I looked like a lobster face at the end of the day This one looks good. It is odorless and hypoallergenic I think: Vanicream Sunscreen

I like the strapless on you. But pick what you love. My measure of the perfect dress/ outfit is the one you can stop staring at yourself in. Go with your gut!

Just wondering if anyone any good recommendations for a good beach read. I'm leaving on vacation in a week and am looking for something funny/ light/ sexy to read. I've been reading A New Earth (which I love and recommend) but I think I need something a bit fluffier for the beach. BTW I recommend Eat Pray Love. I read it last year on vacation. It's a wonderful book about a woman's search for enlightenment and meaning through travel. It's deep but just so funny and easy to read.

I have two three year old nieces so I've gotten well versed in buying for this age group. Hot items for girls of this age are any Disney Princess or Dora the Explorer toys. The dress up costumes are great and pretty inexpensive. And of course the classics....legos, play-doh, chalk boards, coloring books, books.
