Then we will also have tres leches cake and fruit cocktail and some sort of custard which comes with our buffet menu. I like the idea of putting the cupcakes in boxes! But there are two things to consider: 1. The time it will take (on your wedding day since you want them to be fresh) to put them in the boxes. If you're not having a lot of people then this will be easy - but if you're having 50+ then it may "eat" up a lot of your day. 2. No "cutting" of the cake if you give these out ahead of time. Though now that I think about it you guys could always just cut one cupcake to be cute! I am ALL about the cupcake idea! I love cupcakes but for some reason feel only neutral about regular cake... this seems to be a common thing in the people I know. Will Dreams or the bakery box them for you if you send the boxes and ribbon ahead of time? That would be a lot of work off your back! Thanks for all of your input! I haven't gotten as far as talking to the bakery or the WC yet....The resort seems pretty easy to work with, but I also have a few VERY good friends that would definately help out with boxing them if the resort or the bakery wont.(or if they want to charge an arm and a leg to doit!) Yeah, we are probably the un-traditional couple when it comes to this wedding! I just know that our party is much to playful to be eating cake after dinner! I'm gonna try to mail the boxes to whom ever I decide to use for the cupcakes....I will let you know my final decision! thanks again!
  3. I'm so happy for you! That part of the planning is very stressful! Good luck and happy planning!
  4. Good job Sarah! They look amazing.....What kind of flowers did you use?!
  5. Ok, I have been researching the idea of doing cup cakes instead of cake, and having them put into individual cake boxes with our logo on the box with ribbon. Then they are going to be set as place cards on each plate and used as a wedding "favor". Nothing i do is traditional if you can't already tell! Do you think that this is a good idea?? I just figured out that they are getting wonderful OOT bags, and people are going to be partying anyway...then this way, they can take it back to their room and eat it when they want! Now, I"m just trying to research cupcake ideas... I found these cupcake boxes at michaels yesterday(they are actallly online as well) They are bright pink stripes.... with cupcake paper to match. Just trying to figure out if I should do "jumbo" size or will a professional standard size cupcake look look right. Help!
  6. Awesome pictures! Beautiful wedding! Thanks for sharing!
  7. eeewwwwaaaahhhh! I bet you were so irritated! I don't think that you would have fun at her wedding anyway! How RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!

The lighting was soo beautiful in the lobby....they had all these candle looking lights and it just looked soo romantic. 3. Any of your ladies in heels can easily walk around without worrying about sinking into the grass 4. There is a full bar right there in the lobby which is really convenient. I think we are going to have our cocktail hour on the terrace and our recpetion in world cafe. Its soo nice in there with all the lights on the palms and I am getting married in January and the nights are just too chilly to have a beach reception. Plus...weather does not become a factor, which means less stress for me. I figure that all of my guests will be able to enjoy the grounds all week...why make them freeze on the beach for the reception! You say that you are having your coctail hour at the terrace, and the dinner in world cafe. Are you having to pay extra for the service in the restaurant? What package are you going with? We have seriously discussed the idea of just doing a coctail hour and then move on to the restaurant instead of the "reception dinner" included in the package available....
  9. Oh my gosh...i love them! Very cool! It would be so cute to do like little individual crabs for each person!

Do they have a website I could check out? I really want some great pics and video to show at the reception we'll have in our hometown when we get back. My other concern is the music/dancing. I have a lot of pretty rowdy friends and family coming, and we all love dancing. I'm wondering how the DJ is, or if it would be possible to bring our iPod and do music that way. Any ideas? Thanks! Susan....I have currently have not decided on a photographer yet...Stuck between the idea of flying one in to meet me there or hiring a local one there in Cancun. If you "search" cancun photographers, i'm sure that you will find some interesting threads.... Along with you, all of our friends and family are pretty crazy 2! There is an option to bring your own ipod, but you will still have to rent the sound equipment from dreams. Which is still kind of pricey if you ask me! We have NOt decided on the music either.....
  12. Welcome! We are getting married at Dreams CAncun also in October! October 7th to be exact! Then we are moving over to the El doraldo royale for our honeymoon! Hi all

Welcome Lisa! you will find a lot of useful information here! Let us know if we can help! Good luck and happy planning!
  14. Jill, those are awesome! I love all of the color that mexico has to offer!
  15. I'm so very sorry that you have had this experience.....As far as i'm concerned, I would totally go to the top of this place and demand some TLC. It is a big enough company that they should be able to help out a little more than they have. My fi bought mine from a small store in our city that will do anything in their power to help and make us feel that we have the most beautiful diamonds in the world! (which we do, it really is beautiful!) Demand more from them....that's what i would do...not to mention that you have already spent a fortune!
  16. Ok i'm sold! but Laser or electr.?
  17. I'm so sorry for your loss, that must have been horrible to have to go through....but thanks for sharing!
  18. Welcome Cooper! I love your work! I'm getting married in Cancun October 7th of this year...and still havn't decided on a photographer!

I know, I have to do it! You'd think it would be motivational, but so far, only a little, hahaha! I need to go grocery shopping and buy some better food! Just buy: veggies, fruit, and not to much sugar!

I emailed her about it, just haven't confirmed yet, I should just commit to it, maybe it will help me get my butt in gear! You should def. take advantage of it! It will be so motivational, and your future hubby will be so proud of you! He will have no idea why other than the idea of preparing for your "big day!" Leigh isn't anywhere near me anytime soon, i'm soooo jealous! Just do it!!!! You can do it!
