  1. We had 40 guests that by the time the wedding happened on Sunday had already gotten to know each other via our welcome dinner, or hanging by the pool. A majority of our guests were long time friends so for us the seating chart was more a pain than anything. I didn't want to stress about people being unhappy about where they were sitting and knowing my friends, they'd pick up their stuff and move it wherever they wanted anyhow! lol We had 5 tables of 8 and Matt and I had our own small table. Familys stuck together on their own and mixed with friends here and there. The majority of time was spent on the dance floor. For food service, we used either blue or brown ribbon on our starfish to denote their food choice to make things easier on the waiters. We did have to collect food choices and keep track, but I needed to give the resort food counts anyhow.

He said his website is still under construction. Just heard back from him on his 2008 rates: $365/hr

Well we hired two cameras for two hours (basically the basic package but no unlocked DVD).. we received the leather case and two other copies along with the web highlights. He stayed way longer than he should have and that probably shouldn't be expected. He was willing to break up the 2 hours and was about to leave just before the fire dancers started. I asked him to stay and he was so great about doing so.
  4. Oh my gosh! That's so funny.. I didn't even know he had a website.. www.cslvideo.com We just communicated via email and he sent me a google link to some of his other weddings. He was recommended by Juan Carlos Tapia, that's how I found him. His 2007 pricing was $300 per hour.

He actually stayed much longer than we paid him for and was willing to split up his time. We booked him for 2 hours but he ended up staying 4:00-8:15.. to capture the fire dancers. Needless to say, we're going to send him a nice gift as a thank you.. He's very good via email and asked us to do a few things on the wedding day (walking towards each other, kissing while he went around us, etc). He even had good ideas for the photographer when we all drew a blank on cute wedding party photos. I was in a such a lala-land that I didn't even realize there were two guys there during the ceremony. Our actual full length video is 40 minutes long and he seemed to get everything! Even Matt accidentally biting my finger during our cake cutting. For anyone on the fence about hiring video for your wedding, DO IT! We went over our budget that I was so careful about, but would be kicking myself right now if we didn't do it. Our friends that have seen it have all said they wished they had video of their day and how they want to get married again.
  7. Videographer Jorge Ibarra [email protected] We received our video last week and I've already watched it a zillion times! It's absolutely beautiful! I felt like we were watching a wedding show on tv of someone else's wedding.. Jorge did amazing work! We received our copy in a beautiful leather case and two other copies in DVD containers with a beautiful cover with pictures of us and also on the DVD itself. The DVD was broken into chapters for easy selection. It contains a highlights clip, ceremony, dancing, toasts, etc. He even captured the fire dancers using their music. It was edited to a T! Our package included a web version of the highlights clip, enjoy! http://video.google.es/videoplay?doc...913&pr=goog-sl

I think the months to be most careful about are Aug/Sept/Oct as far as rain goes.
  9. Updated Videographer review with link to web highlights video.
  10. Wow! They look really impressive. Your guests are going to love them.. do you have family or friends that can help assemble? I did that with alot of my DIY stuff.. printed everything and they helped me cut and put together.. it made for a long but fun day.
  11. It really just depends on the photographer you choose.. prices range so much. I would get a few quotes from photographer's who's work you like and doing so will tell you if one is really high or really low.

  13. I received an email link this morning about a company that seems to work like Netflix DVD rentals only it's for designer jewelry and handbags.. some of the stuff is still really expensive, but others not so much... What a great idea for those with designer tastes without the budgets to match... www.bagborroworsteal.com
  14. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t6942 Check out this thread.. if you search peony I think other flower threads come up to. Some girls looked into fake flowers or fake and real mixed. Flowers in general are really expensive in Cabo. I paid $165 for cream roses and a few white orchids in my bouquet. Peonies probably wouldn't be a good fit for Cabo because of the heat..even my orchids were kinda brown before the day started.
  15. What about a few smaller showers? Friends/family or his side then yours.. sounds like you've been more than helpful in planning.. all I knew is when and where to show up..my girls did the rest. They had people bring dishes and it took care of drinks (sangria) and decor... You always hear about bridesmaids complaining everything costs so much.. well, if it isn't your idea of when/where to have it, they'll figure out whatever they're comfortable with and you'll have a great time.
  16. I heard good things about the jalepeno poppers.. everything else was a blur as we were taking photos and didn't try anything. We didn't get to try apps at our tasting either.
  17. I have no idea how long our ceremony was, but John also asked us to trim it down.. he said because it's Oct and not too hot it was ok. I did cut it back and I'm glad.. even though I was oblivious, our guests were still sitting in the hot sun. (The fans came in handy).. one suggestion.. make sure you have someone speak to the minister and tell him how to pronounce your last name.. we did all our cooresponding via email and he got pronounced it wrong.. Matt didn't see him until about 2 minutes before the ceremony started. Other than that, he was GREAT!
  18. I wouldn't get my nails done at Dreams.. it's not really set up for a party.. only two girls at a time and the work was ok at best.. I've had better $10 manicures.. def not worth the price.. I came in with my toes done and wanted "I Do" painted on one big toe and they looked at me like I was nuts then just said they couldn't do it. One of my bridesmaids had her nails done and hated them.. mine were ok.
  19. We used Love of My Life by Dave Matthews and Santana.. Matt is a huge Dave Matthews fan and we've been to a few concerts together. We liked the hispanic flare that Santana's guitar brought to it.. our DJ shortened it to about 3 mintues and then went straight into Hips Don't Lie by Shakira (inside friend's joke)
  20. I really wanted my wedding on a Friday or Saturday but those dates weren't available for the timeframe that we were looking at. We ended up having it on a Sunday which was a blessing in desguise.. guests were able to hang out together several days before the wedding. We had our welcome dinner two days prior. Some family left the day after and others were able to hang out an additional day or two. I think a Tuesday is perfectly fine.. I would check into flight costs (try farecompare.com) .. but rooms/flight might even be cheaper weekday vs weekend.. your wedding package will probably be the same cost regardless. I guess my point is, just like with anything in life, sometimes what you thought was terrible could just turn out to be the best thing ever!
  21. Yeah! Congrats on the weight loss and your dress is soooo pretty... you can tell from you smile that you really loved being in it!
  22. Well obviously the reviews area on this site it great to see what problems people may have had with coordinators at different resorts.. but also tripadvisor or just a google search for the hotel name or "Cabo Wedding" will show you reviews/complaints and even video on u-tube type sites. Are you thinking about working with a travel agent? So many of them are specializing the the destination wedding market and the good ones should be able to point you in a good direction.. I would try to narrow it down to 2 or three possible places. Are you set on a particular date? Dreams has more than one wedding or event per day (they don't always but could) but the areas are on complete opposites on the resort and while it isn't a long walk, you would never know the other party was going on. Have you ever been to Cabo? Would you like to be closer to town or in the Cooridor area (closer to airport)
  23. What's your price range and or the price you think your guests will find ok? Sometimes all inclusives help.

All your exclamation marks show how stressed you are.. Promise, it will all be great! Glad to hear your daughter is ok.. must have been very scary. I'm sure as a mom you do your best to protect your kid. When things happen out of your control, that can be really frustrating... and you're stressed with everything else going on which isn't helping. Let us know if we can help with any projects of if you're having bridesmaids, have them over to help. My girls helped me finish about 15 projects in one day.. After that was done, I felt alot better.
