Economy sticking a cake fork in bridezilla?

Actually to be honest most of the weddings I have been to here are over $100,000 too but I didn't want to sound like a snob. LOL. So I used the lowest number of all the weddings I went too. Actually the $60,000 wedding I went to had a DJ but all the other ones had bands. I think NYers just go a little crazy. Its very "keeping up with the Jones' here". -

Except you said it more eloquently. I too hope I haven't offended anyone, that was not my intention. I was trying to comment on how much people should spend I only meant to comment on my surprise that the article was referring to weddings in NY, b/c as a whole I find that weddings here cost more. It has nothing to do with how much people spend it has to do with how much places charge. Like I said, I think its b/c real estate in NYC is super expensive and we have high tax so I think it make everything so much more expensive. -

OMG I never judge! LOL. I loved your wedding! It was fabulous! I was just saying that I personally couldn't afford that myself. But even if I had $60,000 I would need to pay a mortgage or debt first. But heck if I had the money I would do it too. The Plaza Hotel here I come! LOL. Jen I was just stating that I found that article odd b/c I think weddings in NY are pretty expensive. Don't you agree? Like you said, if you had a 100 person wedding in NY it would have cost you about $60,000. Its expensive. And like you mentioned you got days not just hours and had an amazing time in a great location! -
Jenny I have a request. Could you please bring some sunshin to the East Coast? I mean really the weather here has been so schizophrenic! We need warmth! Other than that have an amazing time. I know Le Meridian is beautiful so you will have a great time. Oh yeah and don't get caught in any earthquakes...

I can't believe that article is from NY b/c I swear I can't imagine how you have a wedding here for that amount. I was quoted close to $15,000 for a lunch at a restaurant for about 125 people. This isn't even a fancy schmancy restaurant. Hmmmm.... A saturday day wedding here (from 12PM to 5PM) costs about $118 per person. This isn't for a fancy place nor for a dump, just a regular nice place. A saturday night wedding is usually $250-$300 per person (not including tax or gratuity). I'm also quoting summer prices. If you get married in the winter its a lot cheaper. Has anyone gone shopping for a gown in NYC/ The prices are obscene. I won't even set foot in those places. Pretty much David's Bridal is the only affordable place around here. I think its b/c the rentals for the store are so high. If I had that kind of money I would pay off my mortage or debt. No way would I ever spend that much for a wedding. Then again I'm not a bridezilla. LOL. -

Great article! I think the average wedding in the US is that $28,000 number but in NY its much higher. Most of the average people I am friends with had a $60,000 or higher. Its insane. Which is why I could never afford a wedding here in NY. -
Have a wonderful trip and an amazing wedding! I hope it is everything you wished for and more! Hurry back with pics and a review, you know we can't wait to hear all about it!

Ok I'm in for Swanky's too. Although I have no idea what that is. And where is it? LOL.

I don't think Jack is Jesus. I just think that some of them have leader roles like Jack and John. Remember Jack's tatoo said "He walks among us but he is not one of us" or something like that.

OMG thank goodness! Is he home with you yet?

I love this show so much that I watch the repeats on Sundays @ 6PM too. I just love it. Even FI who hates girly TV shows got into this. I just love it!

Also if you go here: Characters of Lost - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It lists all the characters and their importance. These are not spoilers they just recap who the characters are. In this site it mentions that Horace Goodspeed and his wife Olivia were the ones who helped Ben's dad Roger and his mom Emily Linus when she went into labor. It says that the producers have confirmed that Horace and Olivia are an important part of the Dharma story. Can't wait to find out what the heck is going on! Also, I think Richard Alpert is named after a Harvard Professor who did acid experiments on people to alter their state of consciousness or something like that.

Kate and Charlie were dating in real life, then they broke up, but now they are back together again. They were never married or engaged or anything like that. He was not killed off b/c they broke up, they actually broke up b/c he returned to LA and she stayed in Hawaii and it made it difficult. I don't know what the heck is going on but I still think Jin is alive. No one agrees with me (my non-internet friends) but James also thinks he's alive and he's a pretty smart kid if I do say so myself so I'm going to roll with my FI on this one. LOL. James pretty much knows what's going on all the time b/c he loves history and philosophy and owns every book by every "character" that was introduced (meaning the philosophy of John Locke, Mikael Bakunin, etc) I have no clue if Claire is dead. I totally did not pick up on that. But do you guys remember that Charlie had a dream that his mother and Claire were on the beach and they were dressed like the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdaline (sp?) and they were holding the baby Jesus? And Jack and Claire's dad is named CHRISTIAN SHEPARD for a reason. Notably, Jack is a science man who doesn't seem to "believe" the way John Locke does. So its interesting that this CHRISTIAN SHEPARD and his daughter Claire who has been portrayed as holding the baby Messiah are waiting for John Lock. Maybe later on in life Jack becomes torn b/c he realizes that he never believed in the islands power or something to that effect. Which is why he is always trying to get back.

That would be fraud b/c Greg married you by relying on the fact that you guys would start a family together. Or let's say Greg turned out to be gay. That would be fraud. Or you promise Greg to convert to Juddaism but then you don't. Again fraud. -

He had a show on Nickelodeon named the "The Nick Cannon Show" and then he had a show on MTV called "Wild N' Out". He was also in that movie Love Don't Cost a Thang with Christina Milian (who he used to date and cheated on all the time) I'm sorry but I think this marriage is a JOKE. He cheats on everyone. He had a FI like 5 seconds ago. He loves attention and just wants to climb up the social ladder. He is using her. And I know she's not old but he looks like he could be her son. They look odd together. -

OMG Jenny I am glad he is okay! I had the same thing happen to me. My FI went to Peru w/his brother to climb Machupichu (sp?). Well of course it was when the earthquake occured that killed all these people. So I was freaking out hysterical crying and I couldn't get in touch with him b/c they were roughing it. It turns out he didn't even feel it since he was on top of a mountain! The ironic thing was that before he left I kept begging him not to go and I even said "Why can't you just be like a normal guy and go to Cancun to get wasted and see wet t-shirt contests?" Umm yeah then Cancun got hit by a hurricane that same week he was gone! I am glad that Greg is okay! I'm sure he'll be home safe and sound soon and then you will feel at peace and relieved. Give him big hugs when he comes home!

N.Y. man sues airline over flight spent on toilet
Nrvsbride replied to Christine's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
FYI if he brought it in Supreme Court of NY you always sue for $2 million. That's just a standard number you throw out. No one ever expects to really get it. All our small car accident cases are sued for $2 million. Its like a joke no one takes that seriously. Jet Blue will give him a settlement to make him go away. They do not want to go to court. They will probably give him X amount of dollars and some free vouchers.
