  1. Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I am using Baja Weddings (Emlee) and Suzanne Morel as well - can't wait to hear how you like them! Melissa
  2. Congratulations! Beautiful pictures! Can't wait to hear more!
  3. Congratulations! Your pictures look gorgeous and most importantly you both look very happy! Melissa
  4. Wow! That is amazing! I've been to a few cenotes in the RM area and never would have thought of having a trash the dress session there. You guys do beautiful work!
  5. All I can say is WOW! Sarah - you did such a great job! Thanks for posting this all together - great idea! Have a wonderful wedding and congratulations! Melissa
  6. I've done the Suzanne Sommers diet for about 4-5 years and have really liked it. It eliminates the bad carbs (white flour, sugars) while being able to eat the good carbs (whole wheat, brown rice). I am addicted to pasta, so could not think of giving up carbs all together. It has been an easy one for me to stick to, plus I feel a lot healthier. My fiance is pre-diabetic, and so it works well for him also. Melissa
  7. Hi Angela, Congratulations! It sounds like your wedding was a huge success! I also am getting married at Cabo Del Sol and have not actually been there in person, yet. We have our planning trip in June, where we will be visiting the location and testing the food. I'm looking forward to checking out your pictures and probably will be contacting you with some questions about the facility if that is ok! Thanks! Melissa
  8. Hi Lori, Congratulations and welcome! You will find lots of great ideas and resources here. Best of luck with all your planning! Melissa PS- I was born and raised in Omaha and am glad to see another NE girl on the board!
  9. Thanks for the info! This helps a great deal. I think I'm just having nightmares about being that bride who keeps getting whipped in the face through the whole ceremony!
  10. Does anyone have an idea of what the best veil length is for an outdoor wedding? I thought I had read that longer veils were better to avoid it flying in your face the whole time, but then when I went wedding dress shopping was told shorter (fingertip) was better. I've also heard you could have weights of some sort attached to the bottom of your veil to keep it from flying around - has anyone tried this? Melissa
  11. Thanks for the link! I haven't been on that site before so will check them out!
  12. I have not heard of beersbie, but it sounds like my kind of game! mexico15 - I noticed you are from KC - I actually went to KSU and my FI went to KU. (In fact I'm headed back to KC this weekend to go wedding dress shopping!)
  13. I think it should work for our group. (I hope anyways!) My FI and I went to rival colleges and both of our groups of friends use to play Ultimate Frisbee, against each other. So that is part of the reason we thought it would be a good choice for this event.
  14. I am thinking about getting monogrammed frisbees for our OOT bags and was wondering if anyone has done this before? I've done a google search online and there are many companies out there, but I thought I'd bring it to the experts first! Thanks! Melissa
  15. Wow! What beautiful pictures and what a gorgeous dress! Congratulations! Melissa
  16. We just got back from a week in Costa Rica and we stayed in two villas in Playa Ocotal. Both were all inclusive and were rented through Welcome to Costa Rica! :: Costa Rica Villas :: . Playa Ocotal is a gated community 5 minutes from Playa Del Coco and 30 minutes from the Liberia airport. For people looking for villas rentals in this area I would highly recommend them! The staff was so nice, food was great, and the views from these places were amazing. We stayed in Villa Puerto Escondido for 5 nights- which is perfect for a group vacation - it holds 8 people. We then moved to Villa Puesta del Sol for our last two nights. This one holds up to 20 people and would be perfect for a small wedding. All of their villas are within walking distance from each other, so a larger wedding could be held at Villa Puesta del Sol and guests could easily move between the villas. Their website has photos: Welcome to Costa Rica! :: Costa Rica Villas ::. I've got additional photos for anyone who is interested. For some reason I'm having troubles uploading them to my picture gallery, however will keep trying. The pictures on their website does not even do them justice! Melissa
  17. Good question. We are staying at the Sheraton and had found rates for $199 per night. They now are $399 per night. I believe the rates were that low due to the fact it was over a year away. As far as I've heard the $399 rate is typical. We reserved a block of rooms at the $199 rate, but more people are attending than we had originally thought, so now am looking to find them additional options.
  18. Wonderful! Thanks so much for your suggestions! Our hotel rooms have already doubled in price and so these additional options will be very helpful! Melissa
  19. We are looking to give our guests a variety of options as far as lodging and are looking for some inexpensive hotels or villa rental company ideas. Does anyone have any companies/sites that they would suggest using? The majority of our guests are staying at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar and we are hoping to keep everyone somewhat close to the hotel - if that is even possible. We also have a few who might be interested in staying in town for a few nights-so any suggestions for good hotels in Cabo would be appreciated also! Thanks, Melissa
