  1. Here is another option that my WC gave me it looks really pretty.... They aren't quite floating. I'm going to see if I have a closer picture. Another pretty flower that you can choose is plumeria.
  2. Just remember that a tres leches cake has to be refrigerated (untill right before it is served) and would not hold well in the heat if it out for too long. Yes it can be done with chocolate cake.
  3. anny- i posted this on another thread but you may want to check this company out. It may be within your budget to go fresh... But you do have to buy in bulk.. www.chiltepec.com
  4. www.chiltepec.com This company is used by my MIL in Mecico city. She says they are great. They can ship to anyplace that has an airport. Shipping can get a little expensive but cost of flowers is cheap!!!
  5. I'm surprised anyone is even willing to take a US personal check...Bussinesses that I deal with absolutely refused to. I paid through Paypal or wire transfer and felt pretty safe. Again if some one has a good reputation I really don't think it is a major problem.. just keep your documentation & ask for receipts..
  6. yep... the rosary is mostly done after someone has died... now if you did the bus thing then maybe the rosary would be worth doing . I can help lead it:) Happy Birthday! Tammy
  7. i think people are getting alittle confused the rosary yes that takes 20-1 hour depending on who does all of the prayers it IS very tedious. The lasso is what several people have already explained it is placed arround the coupple just to signify unity etc.. This take sno time at all so it could be incorporated to your ceremony maybe right after the vows and the ring?
  8. Hi-- I think everyone has covered the meaning of the Lasso. It is not only for catholic weddings. Basically the lasso is a big doubble rosary. There are gorgeous ones available in Mexico at many local stores. I know that a similar ceremony is used during native american weddings. They make the lasso out of flowers or pretty leaves & berries. The lasso is placed arround the coupple by the oldest female family members of the bride and groom. Grandma's or mothers. Remember this is your wedding and you can adapt any of the traditional ceremonies to "FIT" your needs. Maybe as an alternative to a sand ceremony? It basically means the same thing. I KNOW you do not want to please Cain's mom but maybe this can be a peace offering?
  9. great job! Love them. I knew the labels would work!
  10. I have two- A red rose on my upper left shoulder and two angels kissing on my right hip bone. Bathing suit almost covers it up. The one on my shoulder did not hut at all but the one on my hip bone hurt like they were shoving knives through me. LOL.. but I love my tattoos

Yes, My aunt would fluf it in the air and quickly run out of the picture frame ! It was hilarious!! She even fell a coupple of times. Papel picado: tissue paper banners that have cut out designs... very traditional for day of the dead or xmas celebrations in Mexico. I have been meaning to post this web page as it has some cool ideas for invitations etc.. Cut-It-Out Custom Designed, Hand Cut Papel Picado Wedding and Birthday Invitations
  15. 8X10 clear labels are available at office depot. I used them for my invitations. I can't remeber what company it was that made them but they have a site where you can download templates for printing.
  16. I ended up using vellum and printing a rose motif on it for my roses. You really can't see it in the pictures at all. Only if you are close and in person. Don't stress over it. They really look great. In hind sight Iwould have used brighter colors and made the design larger. So larger is probably THE best.
  17. Tecnically you are allowed $50-$150 dls (depends on where you are traveling from and where in Mexico you are going to) franchise per person in a family unit. (ie:Mom & dad plus kids). For this franchise you must be a foreigner not Mexican. Each family UNIT is supposed to press the button. It is NOT a per person deal. That is why they will give the head of the family unit the decleration form and it asks how many peple they are traveling with and what they are bringing. Then again: It is Mexico and my HUBBY says sometimes it is easier to DO things and THEN ask for forgiveness later IF you get caught. This from an EXPERIENCED mexican Lawyer
  18. I loked the smaller but maybe do them slightly bigger and lower the placement. Great Job on the logos! Super cute!
  19. Since our church "blessing" was a last minute thing. My coordinator downloaded ave maria and some other music for the church and played it from our ipod with speakers. It was gorgeous!! I could not believe how beautiful it sounded. All churches have great accoustics.
  20. Tammy - The enchiladas were cheese with coarseley chopped onion and corn. Chesee & cream on top.
  21. LOl - at least you can't say you are newly weds!! He is watching box and I'm on the computer. He hasn't looked at me in 20 minutes!! Definitely exiting Saturday!
