  1. i used an outside florist because i wanted very specific flowers but a bride just used them and was happy with them. the $30 for BM is pretty average. can yesica send you pics of what they will look like?
  2. i am gonna have to do this in the next week or so to get us ready for baby...i am making a lasagna, soups, and a chicken enchillada...my mom is gonna come by once a week and make a big meal for us and my sisters will also drop things off so i think we are pretty covered. here is one recipe: Quote: INGREDIENTS: 12 corn tortillas, homemade or purchased oil 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken meat (reserve stock) 8 to 16 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced Green chile sauce (recipe follows) Sour cream PREPARATION: 1. Make green chile sauce 2. Put about 1/2" of oil in small skillet. Dip tortillas in hot oil for just a couple of seconds until softened. Place on paper towels in layers until cool enough to handle. With kitchen scissors or knife, stack 4 and cut in quarters. LOWFAT ALTERNATIVE: Microwave tortillas in a stack in a damp paper towel or dish towel until softened, about 1 minute. 3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a large baking dish with Pam. Place one layer of tortillas in the dish which has a thin layer of sauce spread in it. Top with /3 of chicken meat and 1/3 of cheese. Spread 1/3 of sauce over it. Repeat to make 2nd and third layers. Sprinkle some cheese on top of sauce, if desired. 4. Bake for 25-35 minutes until heated through and bubbly. i've also made them with canned soup that is a little faster... Quote: Chicken Enchilada Casserole 4-6 cups cooked chicken, chopped or shredded 1 family size can cream of chicken soup 1 or 2 small cans of diced green chiles (undrained) flour tortillas 4 cups grated cheese (~1 lb) - i like jack cheese Combine chicken, soup and chiles. For a quicker finish, heat the filling. If you are assembling this the night before, no need to heat now. In a greased 9x13, layer: tortillas (I use small ones cut in half to cover the pan neatly and symetrically) 1/2 of chicken filling 1/2 of cheese repeat to make it prettier, sprinkle with paprika Heat thoroughly, cool slightly to firm up, and serve.
  3. its pretty normal for a hotel to ask for a deposit to hold rooms...also a TA will probably be able to negotiate either a better deal or perks. like i usually get better group block rates as well as other perks that they would not directly offer you (example: free site visit, no fee for recption costs)
  4. i think the only thing you can do at this point is pray that it misses...the news is known to exagerate so lets hope that is the case... those getting married in a few months, if it does hit cancun, RM they have gotten alot better at getting the resorts up and running from the last big hurricane
  5. soups is a great idea... enchiladas ( ihave an enchilada casserole recipe that is super easy). thick stews pot roasts
  6. we did one but it cost us very little as DH is a web developer etc... we had ALOT of people visit it but our crowd is younger, tech sauvy...even DH's grandmother checks her email everyday. we had places to SVP, comments, pics, etc...and it is now, now just a wedding site, but baby site, family site... i agree that once you get closer to the date, people will start checking it out. whenever we updated the site we sent a group email saying that we updated the site etc.

  9. i've considered doing something like this but when i looked into it before my wedding they only delivered frozen meals...i think now they do daily fresh meals which sounds alot more interesting...there are also local chefs that will do something similiar.
  10. we did it...about $125 per person and includes lunch...the water is pretty choppy though so half of our group had the best time...the other half were seasick

  17. mine has the software on my computer to do it really easily... you can either: a. right click on the document and they have an option to convert to PDF or b. go to print, select printer, mine has adobe PDF and i clcik that and it converts.

  19. Hi LIsa, got a response from epic and they said they paid for your taxi so you should not have paid anything and that they will send a private, luxury van to pick your up for your wedding (round trip)
