We are staying at the same resort, but are transferring to the Iberostar Grand after the wedding. That is the adults only hotel so we'll be able to get away from our family and the kids for our honeymoon portion of our stay since some of them will still be there a couple days after the wedding. We went with a basic suite for up until the wedding, but went all out on our honeymoon room and got the ocean view room and the big suite. Since we weren't able to go to a different location we wanted to make sure we felt like we were on our honeymoon at least.

Steph-I agree with the other girls that you should put something in the itinerary about the off resort dinner and specify the price range so they know you are not paying for it. I don't know if transportation would be an issue, but you might want to include a taxi price if that would be something they would have to pay as well.

I've only had fake nails once and hated them because they destroyed my nails. I am going to get a manicure and pedicure the day before we leave. I haven't decided if I want to do a french manicure or a bright pink. French manicures tend to turn yellow in the sun on me, and they never last long. I am making an appointment with the spa at the resort to have my nails redone on the wedding day so if I do get a color I will just bring the polish with me so it will match. My feet usually hold up pretty well, but my manicures are iffy. I can always cancel the nail appointment if I don't need it, but I'd rather be prepared.

Hey all, I'm a November bride to be also, kind of jumping in on your conversation late. I was flipping through the posts and came across yours, Tara. I assume you are staying at Dreams, me too. I am there from the 5th thru the 15th. And yes much to my disgust, the freaking "new" tower is under construction and completely closed. At least your travel agent called and told you. I found out on my own when I checked tripadvisor and read someone's review of the hotel. Even the #%$@& wedding coordinator didn't notify me about it. Nor has she really answered any questions I have about it. My travel agent isn't much of a help either. I too had a suite, the jacuzzi one, for the entire trip. Now I am stuck in the old tower. My FI is trying to get us a free wedding package, the more expensive one of course and/or a free upgraded suite( they have 2 level suites in the old tower which come with jacuzzi and private pool). By the way, doesn't it make more sense to remodel an old tower....not the new one!!! Anyways I just wanted to let you know Tara you are not alone. Hope things work out for you!

Wow did I get stuff done last night and today. I printed off the programs, printed off the inserts for the luggage tags, and printed off all the rest of the pages for the welcome books except the "Meet the Guests" since I am waiting for some more pics of people.

As for getting my nails done, I am the night before we leave. I am not sure about getting the tips yet, I guess we will see how my nails are looking then.

Tara & Heather - That really sucks about your resort. I hope something gets worked out for you guys.

Steph - I agree with what the other girls have already said. Let them know about the supper and that it is off the resort and the average cost of the meals.

We originally planned to go to the Iberostar Grand for 4 nights or so also but it was a big mess booking 2 different trips it was so much more expensive then they actually cost so we decided we'd maybe go back for an anniversary. We were going to do the same thing though get an oceanfront room...let me know how you like it the place looks awesome!

Wow, just saw my post..2 months today!!! Whew hoo!! Oh about the lingerie I am bringing a couple pieces to Mexico also. I got 1 really pretty white one with a robe for the wedding night at my friend shower and also a really pretty emerald green one. I also got a VS gift card but I may buy myself a new bra and panties with that. But I agree...I don't wear it too much but it's fun to take on vacation. I was glad I didn't get a bunch of it at my bachelorette party and got more practical gifts.

There are a lot of sales going on this weekend so I think I'm going to hit up the malls and stores. Maybe because the economy is so bad..not sure but everyone is having great deals.

Heather, it sucks hu? I found out from Orbitz. But from what Tammy (host) posted it sounds like the construction isn't going to be a huge eye sore.

I'm mad about the suite but like FI said, now we just have more money for our "honeymoon" (which will be a year later, but oh well) Oh well, what can we really do? I am irked that they didn't announce this. I would have chosen a different resort.

I think I have decided to go with the fake nails. Last night I was browsing wedding pictures and I think the fake nails look nice in pictures. Especially since I can't grow my own out very well. One always breaks!

Hello November brides...hope you are all doing well. I've been trying to read the last 50 pages or so that I've missed since I don't have time to log on during the week anymore sad.gif You guys have been so busy...me, I've been hitting the gym, its been 3 wks so far. Today I find out if I lost any weight or inches (wish me luck)...last wknd I had my first fitting, which was exciting but a bit frustrating as well since my dress didnt quite fit. She couldnt finish tying the corset at the bottom bc of all the junk in my trunk (LOL)...these hips DONT lie!! Well, here is a pic of me in my dress, unfortunately the lady already started to untie me bc she didnt hear me tell her I wanted to take a picture....I also included a pic of the MOH in the bridesmaid dresses. Enjoy.

MOH (the shoes she's wearing are actually my wedding shoes; the bridesmaids will be wearing brown sandals)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
