I"ve been married for almost 2 years now (ack!) and I am still not tired of reading the LC reviews. It always makes me relive my day because I can picture all of teh details as I read. So if I am not bored yet, it's safe to say other girls aren't either - so don't cut it down!

The only reason I ask is that I talked to Nicole on Friday (5/1) and she mentioned that she had to drive somewhere to get papers or something for the wedding on sat....i am guessing that was yours?! awesome can't wait to hear about it!

Hey Andi,

Yes...I did have the civil ceremony down there. We actually had it at the boat dock in Nuevo Vallarta and we held the "mini ceremony" on the upperdeck over the dolphin pool. When we were announced husband and wife officially they had two dolphins jump up in the air!

I did feel bad that Nicole & Kelly had to run around. Because of this darn swine flu madness the government told Nicole that they will not perform any civil ceremonies over the weekend. Nicole was not satisfied with that answer so Kelly was given rights to perform the ceremony with Brad there. So Kelly performed the whole thing, Brad blew bubbles while the dolphins jumped...not so bad. It was very simple and I like having the civil & spiritual documents with the same date.

After the civil ceremony Todd went back to the hotel & the girls and I went out to Las Caletas to enjoy.

So that is why Nicole was running around...I felt bad that she had to go through all of that but she made sure that it all worked out!

Hey guys...so here is the answer to Jaime's question about what I did for tips...coming from my Las Caletas review thread. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t42131

Oh, one other thing - did you (or Reggie or whoever) take the $$ to tip Kelley & Nicole? How did that work? I should probably go ask that in the LC thread too... I'm curious about that ~ don't really wanna carry that much money but I guess we'll have to

So as you read on my thread...I forgot money...UGH so part of the money that Reggie brought over included tips for Brad and Nicole. My dad or Reggie (I can't remember who) grabbed Brad before he left and gave him about $40 I think. he was really good and just so darn nice!

For Nicole, I had wrote out a thank you card and had stuck that in my bag before hand. well it was just so crazy towards the end that I completley spaced giving it to her. So luckily the morning after the wedding a few of my friends and I were scheduled for the Vallarta Adventures Canopy tour that departed from the VA office in Nuevo Vallarta. So I stopped at the desk there that morning and asked if I could leave a few things for Nicole. they said they would set them under her desk. I was worried about the card with $$$ in it so I emailed Nicole and told her it was there and to let me know that she received it. she did get it just fine!

Oh PS Jaime...I did leave something for you there too that day and I told Nicole to make sure she brings them out for your wedding day! smile159.gif Nothing big...and probably not enough for your whole group...but none the less I had extra and just hope you can put them to good use!

Thanks for answering my question! Am interested in hearing how other past LC brides handled this also! Did you all just take cash??

OH and Andi - the suspense is killing me!! How fun :)

oooh good point Rachel...

I forgot to mention that I did not leave anything for Kelly as I really had no correspondence with her at all. she met me on the day of the wedding at the boat in the morning but by mid-day I never saw her again (which was not a problem at all). Nicole was the one that I worked with all the way through!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
