Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

I was able to get contact information for the coordinator at Riu Vallarta, and have emailed them this morning about the possibility of hosting a welcome dinner there. I can report back to you on what I find, as well as give you my hotel review when we return at the end of Feb.

It's been a long time since I've been here! So much going on and so much to do, and then all of the sudden our Las Caletas Wedding is in 2.5 WEEKS! Our legal wedding already happened last Saturday (Dec. 27) so that was a huge pressure off -- sort of like a really, really realistic dress rehearsal! :)

I am getting very excited and very freaked out with all the little odds and ends left to do....I am most freaked out though about all the horrible reviews I've read lately about the Dreams Hotel and overbooking because they haven't finished the new tower on schedule. Not only are people not getting the nice rooms they booked and paid for, they are actually sending guests to other hotels!!!

I did have a question about the PC Walmart, for those who have been there -- is it like Walmarts in the States/Canada? Does it basically sell the same stuff? I'm trying to pair down the OOT stuff I have to bring with me so it would be great to buy mints and gum in bulk from Walmart when I get down there. Thanks!

15 days til we leave. I am so excited.

And as far as individual desserts, we were doing creme brulee, chocolate mousse and arroz con leche. (plus fruit and brownies for those who are not interested in those)

$5 per person... Which to me is a great price!

Oh and a tequila cake. ha!

I plan to take a look at both Walmart and Costco on my trip down in Feb. I know that does not help you brides getting married in the nxt few weeks - sorry! I want to also do gift bags and had the same thought that I could pick up a few things at either of those locations at a great price. Yea - I'm going to have so much to report when I get back on Feb. 22nd!

Happy New Years ladies!!

awesome thanks Ann!

I have a question about walmart/sams club, since that has been discussed recently wink.gif Does anyone know if they sell liquor there?

My FI and FFIL LOVE Crown Royal...While on my site visit I asked Nicole if there was a way to get it and serve it at our wedding. She said that the most cost effective way would be for us to pick up some bottles before the wedding and then the bartenders at LC could just serve it for us. So I am just trying to figure out where we are going to go buy the Crown from when we get down to PV....I am thinking if Sams and/or Walmart sells liquor we might just go there because we will need to pick up a few things too for the OOT bags there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
