  1. I don't know if I am 5th, 6th or what...but I will add my support for Nathaniel too! It would definitely be a decision you'd never regret! It will be six months tomorrow since our wedding and there has not been a single day since that I have not looked at our photos or slideshow! Nathaniel captured the day so perfectly it allows me (and my husband and family) relive it whenever we feel like it! And to top it all off we have awesome memories of having Nathaniel with us at the rehearsal dinner, wedding and hanging out in downtown PV for the TTD too! He is just a very cool guy! I'll also add that Kelley would be thrilled to see him back at Las Caletas! She said he was a joy to have there! Good luck with you decision and your planning!
  2. Yael you look incredible! And your wedding was beautiful. Congrats on your marriage and on having such stunning photos to remember it by! I bet you are on the edge of your seat waiting for the rest... Quote: Originally Posted by Tammy Host yael, you look awesome and nathaniel did an amazing job...is he as nice in person as he is on the forum? just wondering And I can also definitely answer a big, huge YES to this one! Nathaniel is exactly the same in person as he is on the forum, which is to say he is AWESOME! We loved having him at our wedding! I can't imagine any couple and their family that wouldn't instantly love having him as part of the wedding day. I know mine did and it sure sounds like Yael's did too!
  3. Hi everyone! I thought I would check back in with BDW. It has been a while Congrats to all the recent brides on their fabulous weddings! I am so excited to see all your pictures. I'm a little late but I have pictures of my table set up below -- FYI...I brought down the table clothes myself, but it was easy to do since they packed down super small and I just asked my wedding party to each take one. Table setting with centerpieces, candles, and you can see napkin folding -- I had wanted to bring down yellow ribbon to tie around the napkins but decided last minute not to bother -- wish I had, but oh well! Close up of place setting so you can see the wine and champage glasses Tables at night after dinner
  4. DH ended up getting his suit through JCrew but we also went to Tom's Place in Kensington Marktet and they had some great, very affordable suits as well. Worth checking out!

You looked stunning and the wedding looked perfect! Just FYI, I posted the link to my pro pics web albums along with some samples here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...644#post757495
  6. Hi everyone -- I posted my review and slideshows earlier but I got so mush great inspiration from pictures on this site while planning that I thought I would post some of the other incredible images I got back from Nathaniel last month. There's a sampling below and link the picasa web album for those Las Caletas and PV brides who might be interested in seeing more (there are more from the rehearsal dinner and the TTD too). I'm so excited I can't stand it! In the meantime, he's posted our wedding on his blog and given a great mention to Las Caletas and to Kelley and Nicole... Nathaniel Thompson's Photography Blog
  8. I just did cupcakes for my wedding last month -- my husband and I have long been known for our love of cupcakes so it seemed very fitting! Plus we both had also never tasted a wedding cake we liked. Well, we both loved the cupcakes and so did our guests! Some people had 3 or 4 cupcakes! There were so yummy! I sent my wedding coordinator a picture essentially identical to yours (we also had one giant cupcake on top so that we could do a tradition cutting of the "cupcake"). We only paid what worked out to $6 per cupcake though -- quite a bit less and for what looks like the exact same thing. We had 75 cupcakes in three different flavors (chocolate cake-vanilla icing, vanilla cake-chocolate icing, key lime) and it also looks there are three different icing flavors in your photo. I think the total was $450. Hope this helps.
  9. Thank you so much Ann! I would also love the opportunity to do it all again -- if only so I could pay more attention to all those details the second time around! There was so much going on all night that it went by in a blur...I barely remember what happened! Even adding the extra hour before I knew it we were being escorted back to the boat to go home
  10. Hi Karen -- I booked with Nathaniel over a year ago now and I am almost positive prices have changed since then. I think photography is always one of the most expensive parts of a DW, and if you're paying for a professional photographer I know you can generally expect to pay in the thousands of dollars. But it is well worth it to have someone who you trust and enjoy document all the amazing memories and Nathaniel really captured the details and the emotion of the day for us so perfectly, I just can't say enough. He's is really great about responding to email so I would just send him a quick note giving him the details about your wedding and what you want, and ask him about pricing. His email address is:nathaniel@nathanielthompson.com
  11. We brought the 5 bottles of tequila for the tequila tasting table ourselves so they were already bough and paid for -- we assigned that to our two members of our wedding party for once we got down to PV and they found some nice bottles including two bottles of flavored tequila which Kelley recommended looking out for just as something new, different and interesting. I don't think it cost anything extra though to have them set up the shot glasses, limes and salt (but I did let her know ahead of time that we would be doing the station and asked if those things could be set up). The table was huge hit! Not everyone tried the tequila but those who did had a blast!
  12. Thanks Jen! I loved my dress! I felt like I was really able to move and dance it but still felt like a traditional bride. The dress is by Romona Keveza. She was one of the first designers whose dresses I feel in love with -- I literally love everything she designs!! So I was not at all surprised when I ended up going with one her gowns. I got it at Bridal Reflections, a bridal salon in New York City. Good luck picking a dress!
  13. FYI on the welcome bags -- We were very disappointed when we got down with our welcome bags to learn that the concierge/front desk has a policy they insist on sticking to no matter what -- they charge $3 per OOT bag to leave them in guests room OR to hand them out at the front desk. We decided it was an additional +$100 expense we didn't need and just handed them out at the welcome party or as people arrived. However, I was a little disappointed because i thought it would be so fun for people to open doors and have their bags...
  14. The bar by the seaside grill is really small -- maybe seats 12 people at most and often people who are waiting for tables at the restaurant will be sitting there. The best bar to have a meet up at is really the lobby bar (i don't know if that's the official name but it describes it perfectly). Not only do they have plenty of tables that they let you move around (and the view is overlooking the ocean), but they often have live music and if you situate yourself properly within the bar you can see the front desk so you can keep an eye out for your guests as they arrive. We designated the lobby bar as our nightly meet up spot after dinners and always had a good time. It's not very big at all, but we always managed to find all the tables and chairs we needed. Have fun!
  15. Nathaniel picked out the songs for the slideshow so I can't take any credit for their selection but I believe they are -- Oh, is it love -- by Hellogoodbye On my mind -- by Kalai Also, wanted to share some of my wedding stuff, since this thread was helpful to me in putting together my wedding related documents. Several people asked me about having the DJ -- the songlist we sent him ahead of time is below and he really did make good use of it which was great! Also, I have to thank AnnR for the cool wedding day timeline in the guests itinerary -- everyone loved all the great icons!!! Hopefully this is helpful to someone!! welcome letter.doc Guests itinerary.doc Program.doc Music playlist.xls
  16. Your wedding looked beautiful Jamie and it sounds like you had as fantastic a time as we did at LC! Great review and congrats!
  17. Nathaniel -- you are too kind and do so, so, so much more than push buttons! Jaymielee -- Congrats on your upcoming wedding and on having chosen Nathaniel to photograph it! No doubt you will have a fantastic time working with him and your pictures will be out of this world fantastic!

We have been going back and forth on if we should get the dj or just do the ipod ourselves- how did you like the dj? Sorry for all the questions!!! Sorry i missed this the first time...I asked Kelley if it would be possible to line the aisle with birds of paradise and heliconia and/or ginger flowers. She asked the florist who said it would be! The sparklers Kelley was able to get for us (and we paid for) because it was just before New Years when I asked her and they were easily locatable. She wasn't sure she'd be able to get them so I'm not sure they're available all the time. Smores were something around $1.50 pp and LC provides all the necessary stuff. We were very happy we used the DJ, although we did send along a very detailed song list ahead of time and we were happy he made good use of it. It was just less stress for us to have a non-guest/professional delegated that responsibility. Quote: Originally Posted by verh0016 Great review! I had tears in my eyes viewing the slide show! How about the other decor on the tables? I love it and want to know if I should just tell Kelley to duplicate it : ) Nathaniel did such an amazing job with the photos! I'm glad you liked the decor too! Thanks! I spent so much time agonizing... You will love Kelley! She is so awesome! And she can tell you her opinion about the food/ambiance at Vista Grill first hand. We brought down the table numbers, table cards, holders, and a few of the other decor items. Kelley was able to get those round vases with the floating candles for me because she said she'd use them again, but I brought the actual floating candles and the white silk orchids (we went "real touch" silk but fake for those since they'd be submerged in water anyway). The centerpieces were just all circus roses and came from the florist. I sent her a photo and she matched it exactly.
  19. Thanks Stephany! We got out TTD slideshow back last night so I've posted that here too -- Julia and John's Day After Session by Nathaniel Thompson Photography
  20. Hi everyone -- Thanks for compliments! I have to give Nathaniel a lot of credit because trust me the other non-pro pics did not come out showing us of like that!!! We got our TTD slideshow back, but I can no longer edit my earlier posts so I have added them here. Julia and John's Day After Session by Nathaniel Thompson Photography

Did you do you your own hair or have the hair guy that LC can provide? Also, did your hubby go over to LC for the day? it looked like you guys had the chance to take a lot of pics before the ceremony? Congratulations! thanks again for sharing! Fernando did my hair (with some help from my sister)...overall I would say I had a good experience with him and he is definitely a really, really nice guy! We ran in to trouble when he didn't have foundation or cover up to match my skin so we had to do a make shift foundation. If you have darker/brown skin like me, I recommend bringing your own. My husband didn't come over for the whole day, he came over in the afternoon so that we could take pics before the ceremony. I was really concerned about the sunset time so we decided to do most of the pics before. We spent the night before the wedding in the same room together so we weren't set on not seeing eachother before the ceremony. It was definitely a good call because I got to enjoy some part of the cocktail hour too!
