In envelopes. Since there's no postage benefit anymore in sending as a postcard, and since we're trying to think of something fun to enclose with them, envelopes seemed to make sense.

But now I'm stuck on what to enclose. Had been thinking of luggage tags, but even the least expensive are a bit pricey for save the dates...and was considering little packets of eco-friendly, biodegradable sunscreen (since many of the lagoons require that type so as not to kill the reefs), but we're worried they might pop in transit. Anyone have other ideashuh.gif

I love them, you did a great job. I do not think you should put in anything that will cost a lot of money with them though because a lot of those people will not come to your wedding. Not to be harsh, but we sent out 110 STD's and had 51 people at our wedding. So I think you should just save that untill you send out the formal invites.

That is a very creative and cute STD! I would actually echo Julie's comments in that I wouldn't put too much more into the save the date. I think they are cute enough!

That's so interesting...a number of date sites put the solstice at June 21, 2008 @ 00:00 or just a few minutes earlier. In other words, it's weirdly right around midnight. However, looking at sunrise/sunset times in Cancun (nearest city with prediction times), the 21st is still the longest day of the year. Therefore, I think we both picked the right date! cheesy.gif

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
Great! I'm glad the 21st is the true solstice then. My shutterfly calendar & wikiepedia said the 20th. But if some sources say the 21st, I'll stick with that. Either way, the whole time we are in mexico we will have long sunny days :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
