I asked again but they gave me the same price of $14 per person . Who's your WC?

it was Emma Fiallo. However I've been in correspondence with a Marta Ramirez. The charge has increased in the new prices, but because I booked my wedding before the increase I think that's why it's still $9pp for that first additional hour x

I just sent them an e-mail asking again about the $9 pp for the extra hour of reception haha. I feel so annoying :P. I told her that we booked before the prices changed so I wasn't sure if that made a difference **Crossing fingers**. We also want to change our menu but hopefully they also honour the old prices too, I asked about that too.

Hi Azul Fives Brides! Have you seen this video of a spectacular Azul Fives wedding by @MikeCantrell? Karisma tweeted the link earlier this morning, and it just takes my breath away.

hi ladies, does any of you have photos of a reception held at the garden? I'm thinking of having a garden reception and was looking into getting some string lights but my WC is telling me there's not that many trees in the area. The reason I'm choosing garden reception is the greens and I think it would turn out nice in our photos but now that she says not many trees, i'm confused. I'd love to see some real reception photos at Azul Fives' garden. You can email them to me at mona1362@@gmail.com

Thanks :)

I also got the $14/pp per hr rate for extending reception hrs. :S that means $1400 for 50 guests to extend to 1 o'clock. I suppose I can rent an entire club in Playa del Carmen for unlimited hrs. esp, that our wedding's on a Monday night.

@@mazarin I just got the same response haha. Apparently it's only $9pp until 11. So if your reception ends at 10 you can extend it until 11 for $9pp, after that time it's $14. I think we're going to stick with our 4 hours and move the party to the sky lounge :), or whatever it's called haha.

I saw a picture of the pool deck with the lights on the link I put below. I don't think it's the same as the garden though. The picture on here made us reconsider changing our reception venue but we decided that we picked Azul Fives because we wanted a wedding on a terrace so we're sticking to our original idea :). Is the garden where the garden gazebo is?

For those having their ceremony at the sky deck. I asked what the fans looked like because I thought perhaps I could save a few bucks rather than buying them and bringing them over. I'm not so sure that I like them but we'll see how the budget is doing before I get new ones. I mean, these will get the job done, it's just the aesthetics that I'm kinda iffy about.

Hi Ladies,

Just sent the Save the Dates for our Feb 14th 2015 wedding at Azul Fives. Now getting into figuring out the details. Trying to customize our wedding while also trying to limit how Karisma nickle and dimes you for everything. Already deciding to use an outside photographer and DJ. I liked someone's strategy of paying for the hotel room for both, and then using the room for our guests instead. Now trying to figure out hair and makeup. I unfortunately don't have someone in my wedding party who could do either for me and I haven't read much on here about the in-house stylists. Any brides have feedback or recommendations? I'm debating on having my bridal party and me go into town to a salon to have our hair and makeup done so we don't have to pay an outside vendor fee. Has anyone done this and would recommend the salon they chose?

I don't quite have recommendations for you, but I think we are going to overlap!  Our wedding is Feb 8th, and we don't leave until the 11th.  When will you arrive!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
