BestDestinationWedding.com & Wright Travel Agency are excited to present a wedding webinar for Azul Beach.

Gilberto Machain, an Inside Sale Associate and former Wedding Coordinator, will be a panelist and will give a presentation as well as be on hand for a Q & A session.

I will also be a panelist to answer your travel questions about rates, group blocks vs. individual packages, etc.

This is a great opportunity for current Karisma brides and grooms or those considering the venues for the wedding location to get your questions answered.

If you are getting married a year from now...how are you being awarded the bride and groom stay free promo?  I was told 20 rooms booked in order to get that.  If your wedding is still a year away you prob don't have ppl booked already? or do you?  I could definitely use that extra little perk.

@@girlinthecity97

I booked everything through a GIWC so that how I got a free cocktail hour.  Not sure about other ways to get that perk.

Hi thee, I'm getting married at AZ thus December and for the bride and groom free room promo, it was 10rooms booked and then 1 room free.

I am struggling with the outside vendor fee and my photograph. How have you girls managed this? Paid the 3 nights or the $800 vendor fee?

I have heard of brides that marry at Karisma and share with another bride the cost, but I am not sure how to find who is getting married the same weekend. Any word of advice?

I had the same prob with photographers! The amazing ones in Mexico cost an arm n a leg to get... Then the vendor fee on top?!?!

I am flying in my photog. At home she usually charges $3000. Since its destination I'm paying $1500 plus room n air. It pretty much balanced out.

When are u getting married?

@@jasstz - are biting the bullet and paying the vendor fee for a local photographer.  He charges by the hour (a little under $400/hr). Unfortunately, I had to trade this for my video dreams so we may be going with the resort videographer if they don't suck too bad.

@@talicea7812 - so jealous you have a photog you can fly in!

Yes, we probably will have to sacrifice video too. Its a shame though. Really trying to find a way around it.

Our wedding is on August 17th. Glad you could find a way to get your photographer for a nice balanced value! Congrats. You are close, right? Hope things are shaping up now!

@@girlinthecity97 - who did u end up booking? some of the mexico photogs I was looking at had incredible work!  the girl I went with is awesome! she is about the same age as my friends and I so she will be a lot of fun to spend the weekend with.  Her work is beautiful and she also did a friend of mines Mexico wedding too!  I am beyond excited for her! she is the best decision we've made with planning this whole wedding.

@@jasstz... yes, the wedding is incredibly close.  Planning is terrible. My coordinator is the worst. I've contacted corporate with my concerns and they seem to be just as bad.  Haven't heard anything back yet. Im only about 70 days away!  Basically the only plans set in stone is we arrive on the 9th and get married on the 12th.

@@talicea7812 - we went with Sascha Gluk (www.cancunphotosblog.com).  We really loved his work and how he tells a story through his pictures.  That's awesome that you have a great connection with your photographer. I know that will result in truly amazing photos. I'm sorry to hear that your issues with the planning team aren't letting up. :(

You are getting close!!!  How exciting.

Yeah the charging for EVERYTHING is making a destination wedding not so cost effective like they normally are.  It is making me second guess my decision.  So far I have only put down a $200 deposit to reserve the wedding day so I could still change resorts and loose the $200.  I just don't know where else I would want it at.  All the reviews say Azul Beach has some of the best weddings and I like the idea of a smaller venue.

Photography is a big issue for us.  There is no way I could afford $3,000 for a photographer but I don't want awful pictures either.  I didn't realize that some of them don't edit the pictures!!! Thanks for pointing that out!  If they don't edit that's like having one of our guests take pictures for free and it be the same quality.

I don't know what to do

@@MandM2014 Playaweddings will do 3 hours of photography or videography for $1,750 (+$800 outside vendor fee) but they will usually throw in an extra hour to balance out the fee. That package includes "3 hours of Continuous Coverage, Two Photographers.  More than 240 edited images on disk, an online slideshow of favorites, an online gallery of all of your edited images, and a $50 credit to use toward print products or gift cards for family and friends."

@@talicea7812 - yikes!!! Can your TA help you with the Miami coordinator. If it makes you feel better, I met Paola the Azul Beach coordinator and she is very nice and strives to please. I also saw other members of her team in charge of doing the set ups and they were really on it! Everything looked great and seemed to be on time. I haven't gotten to the contract phase but I recall reading elsewhere on here you stand a better leg negotiating with the resort WC as they only charge for what is actually done.

Having seen that they have staff charged with overseeing all aspects of wedding setups, I am guessing that is their reason for not allowing a guest to do it.

Are you using the real touch flowers others on here have used? I am more convinced about going that route after seeing how "vanilla" the lomas arrangements were.

@@MandM2014 - you may be able to get away with 26 but much more than that will be super tight. From what I saw, they call it semi-private because they close off one section of the restaurant and set the tables up so there is a small dance area in the middle.

@@girlinthecity97 what are real touch flowers? That seems up my alley because I too don't feel like spending money on mediocre Lomas flowers that we can't even keep

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
