Any Playacar Palace Brides 2014?

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow Playacar Brides!

I'm in the process of firming up my wedding date, and was wondering if you all are booking directly with the resort so you can get the group benefits or if you are using a TA? I was told by Kalena in the weddings department that I had to pay for my stay in full to block out my rooms and that I had to put down 50% for the wedding collection upfront to book our ceremony? Is this similar to what you all have heard? I am inviting 80 people and we probably think we'll have closer to 60 people and with that number of people I would prefer to have a TA as an intermediary but the resort is making it seem that unless all our guests book directly through the weddings department, your not eligible for the group benefits. I'd be interested to here other's experiences. Thanks!!!

Hi, This is not true at all.  As long as you have a group block and make your booking through the group block you can qualify for group amenities.  We break it down in the contract for you.

please let us know if we can assist you.  We are an ONYX level travel agency with palace and have a great relationship with them.

Not true, maybe you miss understood? I have been talking to Playacar and they told me is up to me to use them or to use a TA. I have been talking to Elvia and Rocio.

What I know is true, if you don't have a group block then, your guest can end up in other resorts if they are sold out and they will not be considered as part of your wedding. You will also not get any of the benefits, even if they are there for your wedding.

Hi Tammy, I just listened to the Playacar Palace-Moon Palace webinar. Lots of great information. I was leaning towards having my wedding at either Azul Beach or Azul Sensatori but now I really like Playacar Palace. I hope I can decide after we have our site visits May 7 & 8. All three are beautiful options. Question about group bookings- I think we will be able to have 15 rooms for 3-4 nights each. My FI and I will stay a minimum of 7 nights wherever we book. What happens if I block 15 rooms and only get guests to confirm for 10? Or, if I block 15 rooms and end up needing 18? One more question about the Collections- my colors are red and ivory. I only want the red package but it does not qualify for the Resort Credits. Is there any other way to get Resort Credits? Again, thanks for the informative webinar. Jenny

That is not true.  I put a hold on 30+ rooms, that required a $250 deposit on each (approx)  This can be refunded in full if canceled 6 months prior to wedding.  Depending how far you are from your wedding dates, that should ne enough time for your guests to reserve their rooms.

I'm using a TA.

Hi Everyone!

I just got the official confirmation that our date will be Jan 14, 2014!

So Excited!!! :)

My TA never mentioned anything about a group block on the rooms. What is it and should I be talking to her about it? We aren't 100% sure on the number of rooms, but we will need a minimum of 10 for 7 days each.....

You should certainly be talking to her about that, there are many benefits including unlimited free events if you get 75 room nights booked, as you mention 10 rooms for 7 days each that is already 70 room nights, if you get 5 more which if I were you I will definitely book them, even if that means you paying for those extra 5 nights out of your pocket,.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
