Getting married at tHe Hard Rock Cancun

Recommended Posts

Ah, what an amazing experience!
Just got back and I wanted to share some photos with you! (taken on my camera, not our professional ones)

Cintya (on site coordinator) was beyond amazing! Seriously, she was so great!
Ceremony - Perfect, lots of spectators. (but could be my hubbys fault since he was at karaoke the night before and invited the entire hotel to watch LOL)
Reception on Sunset Terrace - Perfect, great view, romantic!
There was a group of 22 of us (most of us are frequent travellers) and every single person had nothing but positives to say about the staff, food, beach, gym, location, and resort in general.  Everything was above and beyond our expectations (which were high).

Also - I am a vegetarian and they gave me a card to present to all of the wait staff, in which I usually got a delicious special made meal :D
All in all, I recommend this resort to everyone whose looking to have an amazing wedding and week with their friends and family.

Thank you for sharing!!! Looked like a blast, loved your photos. I'm getting married Nov 2014 there. Getting very excited!

Do you have any suggestions or comments. Any thing that we should tell our guest or tips for us while we are there? Or fun things to do. Anything at all would be much appreciated!!!

Hi Jenn...  great pics.... how was the cocktail hr with double hor d....u have pics of the terrace area and how yours was set up...Im having a small wedding as well...prob 11 guests.

Thanks ladies!  We just got our professional photos back, I am going to post some more for everyone to see!

Things that might help when planning:

Flowers – Beautiful, the FREE bouquet was gorgeous and so was the free boutonniere. (We didn’t pay for extras, just used the complimentary ones and it was more than enough)

Location – Beach Ceremony is on the beach outside of the ROCKSPA.  Big crowd watching you along the beach and pool area.  Its going to be HOT... There is no shade.. luckily our ceremony was short and many of our guests brought umbrellas to shade themselves.

We did our cocktail hour and reception on the sunset terrace, which was so beautiful.. we watched the sunset over the lagoon.  It does get a tad windy so keep that in mind.. we had some centre pcs that kept falling over, Also lighting is minimal but we made do without paying for extra (might be difficult for speech makers we had someone use their cell as a flashlight LOL)

** We ended up not doing the double ordearves and instead did ordearves and dinner because we had already been there for 4 days and had eaten at all of the restaurants and didn’t want it to be repetitive.  I am a vegetarian and they always made me special, delicious meals.  They even gave me a card so when i went to a restaurant they knew to make me something without meat :D

OOT BAGS -  We made OOT bags filled with crosswords, suduko, cards, eye masks, gum, sanitizer, first aid items (band aids, polysporn, Tylenol, tums) Everyone kept saying how much they loved the OOT bags and most used the first aid items.

Excursions - We did a snorkelling trip and used the resort credits which was fun.  Other than that we just went into town on our own.  My hubby and I have been to Mexico 3 times previous so we’ve done all of the adventure parks, pyramids, etc.  but if you have never been I would suggest XPLOR and COBA (because you can still climb it)

Cyntia is awesome and will accommodate any request she can for you, she and the staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel like royalty.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I am getting married at the Hard Rock next November, 2014. I was there for vacation last year so I am familiar with the resort, food, etc. I am wanting to know if anyone has any feedback about your hair/makeup done at the spa or how good the photographers are. I LOVE the work of Del Sol Photography and really want to do it and go with the complimentary Colin Cowie wedding package to off set this. Is this worth it? Also, I have looked into Norma Perez for hair and make up and would love to hire her. Is this worth it compared to what they have at the spa?

Thank you!

Hey @kaylanicole :)

My husband & I are pro destination wedding photographers living here in Cancun. We have shot many Palace/HR weddings with the Colin Cowie collection. Always looks very clean & beautiful in photos (yes even the comp package)!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
