The food was wonderful, the drinks were plentiful, and the staff was very helpful...I have no complaints about the hotel...other than...the lobby bar is in the middle of the hotel. Since this is not an adults only resort, there were kids everywhere...including the bar area. Also, the discotheque does not open until 11:30 at night...which by that time most everyone was tired from all the activities during the day. Other than that...everything else was pretty great! The actual wedding day was so easy! They handled everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. Cintya is so very sweet and made sure everything went perfectly. I also had a friend be in charge of getting everyone down to the beach on time for the wedding...this helped a lot. I went with the complementary package and just changed a few of the details. First off I got rid of that gold tree branch thing. I went with hot pink roses for all of my flowers...including the ones in the vase at the alter. I changed the gold vase to a clear glass vase as well. The flowers were beautiful and I was really happy with the quality of my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, and the groomsman's boutonnieres. The reception was held on the Breeze Terrace on the 3rd floor instead of the planned Infinity Terrace. Cintya said it would be better so we went with that and she was right. Everything was set up beautifully. You have your own personal bar and bartender. It was a buffet dinner, but it was tastefully done and I have no complaints. We chose the Mediterranean Buffet and the food was delicious! The only thing I changed on the menu was the fig tart to a fruit tart. One thing to consider...I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to spend the money to set up an ipod speaker system...I believe it is $395 for just 2 hours. I decided against it and I'm glad I did. There was another wedding reception just below us with a loud DJ and all. We were able to listen to their music and I didn't have to pay for it. So, you may want to check to see if there will be other receptions going on at the same time and what their music situation will be. I don't believe we would have been able to hear ours with the one below us going on as well. We used the hotel's affiliated photographer from Ocean Photo Studio. I was a little worried about using them without knowing which photographer we were going to get and seeing their personal work beforehand. I went with the deluxe photography package for $1,755. I am still waiting on getting my pictures and video back. However, in the meantime they sent me some pictures so that I could use them for our home reception. I'll post them in a separate thread so I don't take over this one. Please feel free to ask me anything about our experience. OMG!! I'm so glad your wedding was everything you wanted and dreamed of! I think I speak for all of us when I say feel free to take over and post pics! We have been waiting like Christmas for your review. I think you are the first bride on this board to actually go through the HR staff and not CP! I feel sooo much better now!! I'm excited and so ready to get to Mexico! How were the rooms? How did you choose your food? I'm so happy that you had a great experience. Thank you so much for your review for us!

I want passport but also want something more formal. FI suggested using the passports as a before we leave booklet for people who book and are coming to the wedding to save money lol. What are you thinking about with your invites?

Everyone keeps saying get a curly weave but I've NEVER had a weave and I don't think my wedding is the day I want to test it out. Plus, I love my curls but a wash-n-go doesn't really go with gown. Ugh! Btw, love the hair ladies!! I completely understand your dilemma. One of the reasons I don’t want to wear weave is b/c I want to do the whole wash and go while on our honeymoon. I don’t want the hassle of having to maintain my hair. Also, I like my hair. It’s been 2 ½ years since I went from short (shaved in a mohawk) to where is it now and I like my natural hair. I’m proud of my progress. So I am determined to find and work the hell out a cute hairstyle for my wedding. EXACTLY!!!! I want the wash and go for the honeymoon. I love my curls! I transitioned for a little over a year because I never saw myself with short hair so it was a chin-length bob when I finally cut it. We will figure this out together lol

  5. That's my biggest fear of it looking like a 3rd grade art project. I can't have that for my wedding! But I want to have personalized items at the wedding also so idk! My mom is involved too but my oldest sister is beyond excited and wants to do everything!
  6. That's a great idea! I want to OOT bags but I will probably scratch them if I start to get that shopping bug! I'm trying to limit myself and I'm good right now. How are you making a stamp for your envelopes?
  7. I thought I was the only person who thought AHRs were too expensive. My fiance said one of the big reasons we are doing a DW is to keep down on costs and the guest list that kept expanding beyond control. For us and our situation, we didn't see the difference in doing a wedding at home and doing a AHR, besides being married on the beach at that point lol. We are thrilled to just have close friends and family who wish to come and let it be done. I want to DIY but I'm so afraid but the ladies on this board are AWESOME!
  8. I agree! I wasn't so sure about the bridal shower but my Big Sis, and my Matron of Honor is NOT hearing it! She and my best friend think that I am absolutely crazy for not wanting one. I didn't feel right doing one either since we are asking people to pay to come, but they say everyone expects a shower and people who can't come may want to do something anyway. They are not backing down so I just conceded that one battle.
  9. I love it!!! And it's awesome that it's only a $35 upcharge. FTW!!!!!
  10. I loooove this idea! It is so cute and sweet. My date is May 3, 2014!
  11. Thank you Dreamweddings I was very nervous about this same issue. Also, do you work in Cancun?
