No regrets for you! Your dress is one of my favs!
Aw thank you!!! I know once alterations are done lol be ok. Right now the dress is long enough that it could fit someone who is 6ft and I'm only 5'3" so I feel like I'm swimming it and the layers are overwhelming. Last time I tried it on I folded under roughly where it would be hemmed and it made a big difference.

I bought a Ramona Keveza dress second hand (and saved $1800, woo hoo!) These photos are from last summer before any alterations. I'm going to be getting the alterations done in March, including beading all the way down the back, and will also be wearing a sash on my wedding day. The veil I'm wearing in the last photo isn't mine, that's just the one the shop had for me to try on. Mine has a clip with lace and pearls rather than a flower.

I got my dress yesterday! It looks a little funny on the bottom because I had her pin back the crinoline so it wasn't so poofy. I'm not sure what belt I'll wear with it - the coral one is just one I created to see what a pop of color looked like.

It's a San Patrick Rivoli and I absolutely love it for my rustic vintage beach wedding!

You look stunning! The dress fits your perfectly! What a gorgeous dress!

Beautiful! I look at this dress, and I want to send a picture of it to my best friend, because it is exactly the type of dress I could see her wearing one day! Gorgeous bottom!

Thank you all! I also had to stop watching TLC because it just bummed me out! I also felt like I was waiting for that 'ah ha' moment where I (and everyone else) would cry and I'd just know it was "the one." I blame SYTTD for this haha. I was much more pratical, and just knew I had to find a dress. Maybe I just need to go try it on again, because when I have it on I do love it. I think part of it is that I isn't at all what I thought I would get, but I have to remind myself there's a reason I didn't get another one. Oh well - no turning back now! Haha :)

LOL So true! I was watching TLC's new show Something Borrowed, Something New and everyone cried when they saw the bride- her sister, her mother, she was crying...yea that never happened. My fiance looked at me and said "Awwww baby did you cry when you found the one" and I said "Um...no" He didn't believe me because I am usually a crier. I cry at stupid commercials lol but I think I waited for that moment when you just KNOW its the one and I think its because of all these shows. Keep in mind- most of these people usually have overcome hardships- like battling cancer, the loss of a parent. I feel like they have a lot more riding on that moment. Granted- my dad will not be going to my wedding and I lost 60 pounds before I tried on my dress so I had some emotions involved too- but I didn't have that moment. And I had to try the dress on three times haha. It was the second dress I tried on and I loved it but I wanted to try more dresses. I tried on a few but kept comparing it to that dress so the consultant put it back on. It wasn't until she put a veil and bouquet in my hands that I started blushing and couldn't stop staring at myself.

When I went to inspect the dress after it was made, I cried. It looked nothing like I remembered. I think I had a panic attack and I hated it. My mom calmed me down and said "you have to try it on" but the salon wouldn't allow me too because they were closing. I had to make another appointment- a month away to try it on. So for a month, I worried and thought about how much I hated my dress. But at my inspection fitting- I loved it.

It's like with anything else in life- take the flights for instance. My friend paid $850 for her flight...this week? $495...but the week before they were $1,050. It's a gamble. Our 2012 Nissan Altima- brand new when we bought it in 2011- Now? Completely redesigned and I want the new one lol. There will always be something bigger, blingier, more unique...etc. But you chose your dress for a reason- and like other brides said- when its on with all the accessories and the hair done and the makeup and its your day- you wil feel beautiful.

I agree with all of you. I had regrets as soon as I bought it. Not because the dress wasn't beautiful and exactly what I wanted, but because I didn't have that "moment". I was at a bridal show with my mom, they were having a massive gown sale, and I told my Mom we could just look at the dresses, but I wasn't trying any on. (not anywhere near the weight I want to be when I get married, and I felt horrible about myself hat day). She convinced me to try on "just a couple, just to have fun", and of course, we found the right dress. It was crowded, I couldn't take a moment at all to appreciate it as there were many brides waiting for the mirror, my best friend, grandma and FI's mom wasn't there. It just wasn't anywhere near what I had imagined it to be. So I am hoping this summer, I will go get that experience after I have dropped a lot of this weight, and can put that dress on in front of all of those beautiful people and fall in love with it.

It's Hayley Paige's Nina (HP6254). [be careful doing a Google image search on that -- there was a porn star with the same name!]

AtoZ - your dress is so romantic/goddess looking.  I love it.  The back detail is equisite.

VanessaBB - love love love a sweetheart neckline.  My favorite!  The bustle will be perfect for dancing!  Your waist is so tiny!  xoxo

KaraMae - you and I have similar dresses.  I love the lace, such a vinatge chic look.  I agree with EVKnowsitall... a vintage bling sash/belt may be more rustic glam then the coral sash.  I went with a bling sash as well.  Regardless, you will make your FI's heart skip a beat when he sees you.  Truly beautiful!!

This is my dress, it fits me to a T and is so comfortable I do not want to do any alterations to it except the train.  It is too long and I don't 100% like the way it flows.  Do any of your have any suggestions on what I should do to the dress about this.  Im a little nervous about cutting it off, should I just do a bustle and keep it up like that for the whole wedding? If so what kind of bustle do you think would look best? Thank you soo much.

Kay6356 - Where do I begin?  I love everything about this dress.  The sweetheart neckline and detail around the bust is my favorite.  It acentuates your bustline beautifully.  The corest back is amazing!  Perhaps just bustle the bottom to come up and meet that 2nd lower row of "ruffle" (lack of a better word).  I love how the whole bottom of the dress is so airy.  It looks great on you!  Good luck.

MrsHK - I cannot believe how magnificent this gently used gown looks on you.  It's as if it were custom made for you.  The V back of the dress is so elegant.

I absolutely fell in LOVE with it after seeing it on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress months before FI and I even got engaged, lol! When we did get engaged in November, I emailed Vows Bridal store in Boston, MA to see if they could get it in. About 3 wks later I got an email saying they had it in my size!! woot.gif

I only have 1 pic of it on, as I haven't started alterations yet and its too hard to take pics wearing it, but here it is on the model and hanging...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
