ahh, we must have had a security guard in a bad mood that day! haha in any case, that is a great OOT bag favor. I love the idea of incorporating local things

I think MissJali proves it's cheaper to DIY, I just don't have the creativity, ability or even the time.  We're doing boarding pass invites off Etsy and with shipping it's going to be about $275 for our invites (40) which I was really happy with since most of my friends paid well over $800!!!!!!  It's hard to if your FI wants you to stick to a budget, you almost have to DIY because stuff is SO expensive. Luckily my FI isn't so much into the planning so he lets me do what I want, says yes to everything and just pays his half without question.  So far that works well for me haha.

I admire and continue to be amazed by the talent and creativity of the ladies on BDW though I don't think I could do half this stuff if I tried!

lol your FI sounds like mine. We haven't even decided on a resort yet bc he's sooo not into planning. We keep going round and round on the pros and cons of each and eventually he gets bored of wedding talk. I;m OK with him not caring about the invites or flowers etc but I def want the resort decision to be made by the 2 of us!

Hey ladies. What are you all doing for flowers..bridal bouquets and for those of you having bridal parties..what are you doing for the girls/guys. The prices at my resort for flowers seem so outrageous. Im thinking of doing real touch. They look so real and a lot more cost effective.

I originally wanted to do traditional bouquets for my bridesmaids, centerpieces, etc then I got the quotes and nearly fell off my chair. I have a big wedding party for a DW (6) so it would've been crazy expensive especially since I wanted was calla lilies for the bridesmaids and light pink rose/calla lily center pieces. I have no problem spending money but itâ€s got to be worth it!  I got some outside quotes which were cheaper than the resort but then I'd have to pay the outside vendor fee so it was a wash.

I wouldn't mind paying more if I were doing it at home and there was a chance people would keep the bouquet or centerpieces (at least for a bit) but since they weren't I decided to do one calla lily for the bridesmaids with a pink ribbon. I'm also giving them little white clutches so I may have them hold the bouquet against the clutch, I'll have to see how it looks.

I don't blame you there, that's the most important part to any DW.  That was actually the ONE thing he did care about. Although in all honesty I'm pretty sure he only cared about the pool and that there was a swim up bar on the property hahaha.

Haha Hclibby!!! It's me! I'm the cheapskate! FI could care less, he just says yes to everything lol but I just can't bring myself to spend so much on things I know I could do myself. Besides I'm a bit of a narcissistic, i secretly was dying to tell people "yea...i made them!"

But I am splurging on other things, mainly my attire and stuff and the photographer and the dj. I am doing my own centerpieces b/c the resort charges a ridiculous fee for something simple.

I agree with you hclibby1982. I too ddon't feel u have the creativity or time to diy invitations. I paid 267.00 for 40 passport invitations along with 40 boarding passes for rsvp. I had my colors are fuchsia, tangerine and yellow. So I did passport color in deep/hot pink with orange crest of jamaica on front with wording in my colors. I uses www.serendipitybeyonddesign.com and they have been great to work with

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
