I don't believe that! That sucks! I travel all the time to DR as I'm from there and never have any problems bringing back stuff.

This will probably be ridiculously expensive but a mix of debdrobium orchids, callas and/or hyacinths in bright tropical colors (thinking orange, fuschia, yellow) If I go with Secrets, their included bouquet is just daisies and carnations - can you believe that??? It's the Caribbean and you can't even throw in a simple orchid or a cheaper tropical flower? It's like they force you to upgrade the bouquet....
I love orchids and callas.. I totally agree they should supply better flowers in the tropics for less than a few hundreds of $$.

The ones I really fell in love with is a passport invite that is $5.10 per passport with a min of 30 required to purchase and only sold in sets of 10. BUT the shipping is $34.63....so the total for 30 would be $187.63. The other ones that I liked are boarding pass ones that are $5.50 a piece and $10 for shipping....which would come to $175. I just feel like this is a lot of money for 30 invites and that I can either see what staples or kinko's would charge and than see if I printed them myself....only problem with me doing it is having to get the stuff to cut them. But what if I printed them and brought them somewhere to be cut?! Trying to save as much as possible :(

I think MissJali proves it's cheaper to DIY, I just don't have the creativity, ability or even the time.  We're doing boarding pass invites off Etsy and with shipping it's going to be about $275 for our invites (40) which I was really happy with since most of my friends paid well over $800!!!!!!  It's hard to if your FI wants you to stick to a budget, you almost have to DIY because stuff is SO expensive. Luckily my FI isn't so much into the planning so he lets me do what I want, says yes to everything and just pays his half without question.  So far that works well for me haha.

I admire and continue to be amazed by the talent and creativity of the ladies on BDW though I don't think I could do half this stuff if I tried!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
