Thanks! Someone I work with gave great advice before I left. She said that something will go different on your wedding day - nothing will ever go wrong, because no one else will know what it was supposed to be. And the differences is what makes your wedding unique. I thought that was great advice :)

OMG My heart is actually HOT.  Like, I am going to have a heart attack!!!!!!!   This TRAVEL AGENCY IS GOING TO PUT ME IN THE CRAZYHOUSE.  I just found out that she didn't arrange for ANY TRANSFERS for our guests from the airport to the resort.  By fluke, in emailing w/ my planner at the resort, she asked me how we were all getting there.  So I just did it.  CAN YOU IMAGINE????  We leave in 14 DAYS.

ON TOP OF THAT.  We are leaving the Now Jade to go to La Perla for an additional week, so we need a xfr there.  Our Air Can tix include a xfr service, as well as our wedding pkg from the resort includes xfrs, so we want to use one of those xfrs to get us from the airport to Now Jade.  Then another from Now Jade to La Perla.  Then La Perla to airport.  Easy, right?   Oh no, she is telling us no, and we have to pay $150 for a xfr from La Perla to the airport.  This, after she told one of our guests that transfers are $30.00.    So why are we being charged $150?????    Someone please talk me off the ledge.

I'm using USA transfers for my guests since our hotel doesn't include them. They have been a dream to work with and have the best rates on the whole coast. I did a lot of research before picking them, and I live here as well and asked around. Hope this helps!

Went for my final fitting on Monday...expecting to take the dress home and it was way too big! :( So now it needs to be taken in again!! I feel like I haven't lost they much weight since my last fitting but apparently I had. And my dress has a lace up corset so I didnt think this would be a problem at all. So now we leave in about a week and I still don't have a dress in my possession...slightly freaking out.

Obviously not the ideal situation but you have nothing to worry about.  When we start our alterations 6-8 weeks out we assume that it this long process that needs ample time, when in reality it's just our seamstresses managing their time by adding a huge buffer (understandable, but also overkill).  I started my alterations 7 weeks out, my second fitting was 3 weeks later, third fitting 10 days later (Bear in mind that my seamstress forgot to complete a hefty number of alterations from my second fitting, but completed them 24 hours), final fitting 3 day after that. I just picked up my dress this past Saturday; 11 days before leaving There's nothing like a hard deadline to light the fire under their butts. It be different if you were just getting started and needed major alterations, but a 1/2"-1" isn't a deal breaker in the alterations world. Just think of all the last minutes bride who go though this process in 2 weeks, or who have to changes seamstress last minute... it all works out!

Thanks for this :) I know everything will work out in the end, hopefully! I am just so busy this last week and next (as you are as well I'm sure!) that its hard to fit in another fitting, it better be perfect! Otherwise I sense a bridezilla moment coming! Haha

I leave Sunday ladies...and I still haven't written the ceremony script, my speech,  picked my music, done seating tables/ or packed for my fiance and I. (kids are packed) ...freakin out a bit...tomorrow spa day all day and then all I have is Saturday and that's hair day...so really only 1/2 day to do everything!! LOL

Anyone have a sample ceremony script that has sand ceremony or kids as part of the ceremony?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
