Sorry the photographer was so awful, but I'm glad you had a backup plan.

    Congratulations!!

    hi Tlseege

can you tell me what you think the difference is between dean sanderson and gonzano nunez and their style of phtography? Again i do love both of their work but not sure which one to go with since im really not aware of different types of photpgraphy. thanks

The difference that I see is in the processing.  Dean has beautiful images, but some of his images on his website have slightly more of a vintage feel to them.  He embraces the "grain" in photos.

BUT, it depends.  If you look in his galleries, they seem to be crisp and clean edited photos.

Gonzalo's images are very bright and the color really pops.  Sometimes a little too enhanced, but mostly they are crisp clean images.

If Dean's current work (his blog is giving me an error) is all the crip and clean images with out the vintage look to them that I see on the splash page of his website, then I'd choose him.  But I just don't know that.

We arrived at the Now Jade yesterday and so far I have been impressed at the level of service from all the staff. We meet Pilar today to discuss the wedding and hopefully get some clarity on their policies of swapping out services for others. Will keep you posted! Chris

Good luck!!! & I cant wait to see your review!!!! CONGRATS AGAIN!!!

What are you doing for your recession and procession in terms of parents?  My fiance's mother wants him to walk her down the aisle, but now, I'm not really sure how to work this out.  How are you guys doing it?

Does anyone know what they mean by "preparation of the bride's gown"? Will they steam out a wrinkled dress? My seamstress told me she could do it to get out the deep wrinkles, and then show me how to fold it for packing so it wouldn't get re-wrinkled. But if the hotel will do it, I won't have it done here first. My dress is a big poofy thing with a satin skirt that is bunched, so ironing is definitely out.

My Fianc© is also walking his mother down the aisle. Here's how we are doing it. (We have a small wedding party, just 1 MOH and 2 Best Men): FI will walk his mother to her seat with his father following behind - Groom will stand at Pergola One BM will walk my mother to her seat - & take his place at Pergola One BM will walk MOH & they will take their place at Pergola Then me & my dad! Recession: FI parents together My Parents (or vice versa, I don't care either way which set of parents go first) MOH with a BM on each arm Then me & my Fianc© Easy peasy!

62 guest booked, plus Bride and Groom!

Met with Pilar today and she was very pleasant - Note: her office has been moved from the front lobby to next to the photography services on the main level of the spa building (sports bar upstairs). Pilar was very visual, she took notes and drew up ideas on how we wanted our tables to look like which was nice. No services were exchangeable (ie. photography for videography). Pilar said that this was due to them bring different companies, but was willing to credit us $150 for the photographer as we had hired our own. Prices were non negotiable, but she did forget to charge us for some of our services such as one of our Canopys (we wanted two) and she didn't charge us for one ($200) or to add flowers to them (unknown price). We also decided to reign in our budget and went with the Now toEternity and just pay for the Divine food upgrade, however she forgot to charge us for that as well ($240). We also were going to buy some cheap glass candle holders from the Cancun Walmart, however Pilar added 16 glass candle holders with candles free of charge. I don't know what our total savings would have been based on forgotten costs but I guesstimate around $500 - $600. Just out of curiosity I asked how many Emails Pilar gets per day and she said around 150 - 200 each day, double that on Mondays as she is busy with weddings all weekend. I asked her how many days off she has had in the last 3 months and she said only 3! She said that if she takes a day off it doesn't matter anyway because when she comes back she has twice as much work to do, so if you are not getting responses right away it's not that she's ignoring you, she's simply swamped with workload (she even has 3 assistants). As for the night life at the resort I can't say what it's like as we have been so wrapped up in final planning and running around that we've been ultra lame and in bed before 11:00 pm each night so far. Chris

Yes it is steaming you dress and veil.  They will also press your FI suit.  They do a very good job and return your stuff to the appropriate rooms a few hours before the ceremony...in our case my dress was in our room (they even thought to cover it by a sheet incase FI came in) and his suit was taken to the BM room.  They also did the GM suits for a very reasonable price (I think maybe $8).
