Here comes the Bridal hormones, crying. I can't! That was beautiful!! Was the video done by the resort or outside vendor?

Thank you! We sure had a lot of fun with the piñata! The video was done by an outside vendor.

The videographer is based out of British Columbia, Canada, but I know he does travel occasionally for work! We did have the divine package, but we chose not to use the videographer at all, since we had our own.

Instrumentalist questions:

Did anyone use one for their ceremony or the cocktail hour? I'm not sure which one to choose (pro's/con's?) I'm thinking guitarist for the ceremony, but I'm not sure.

Which instrument did you find better?

Can they play specific songs, or do they have a set list to choose from? How does that work?

Thanks!

I was married at the sister resort to the Now Jade, the Now Sapphire, which have identical wedding packages.  We had the guitarist and he was fantastic!  He played a good mix of contemporary and older songs, came with his own speakers and all of the guests loved him.  My dad raved about the nice touch it added to our wedding.  He played during cocktail hour and while we were having our pictures taken away from the cocktail hour site I honestly thought it was a CD that was playing he was so good!

@@A7Xtrish We have a small guest count also, around 25 people! There are definitely very few of us! I'm not sure about the sweetheart table, I've considering doing one, but since there are so few of us, I'm worried it might be weird.

Where are you having your reception?

We had 19 people and I did not want a sweet-heart table as I wanted to enjoy spending the dinner with our guests.  We had one long table set up for us (at the Now Sapphire) and it was perfect!

Did you have to pay extra to have play at the ceremony and cocktail hour??

At home reception RSVP vs. destination wedding RSVP.....

Who is having an at home reception along with their destination wedding?? We are having our wedding at Now Jade in November and an at home reception in January. I don't know how to handle the invites and RSVPs.

We need a final head count for Now Jade 45 days before the wedding date, I feel like this is early to ask people to RSVP for our January reception too. But I don't want to have to send out 2 invites / RSVP cards.

What have others done??

We had him only play at the cocktail hour - we used the speakers that were included in our package and our cell phone for the music for the ceremony.  This was good for us because then we knew that we would have the songs we wanted at the ceremony - didn't need to worry if the instrumentalist knew them or not.

Since it is a destination wedding and not everyone is invited, we decided to have an engagement party. That way we could celebrate with everyone and no one would be upset. Maybe that's a better option instead of doing something after the wedding?? We actually had two engagement parties since my family is in California and my fiance's is in New Jersey. Not sure if that might be a better option???

We are also doing an engagement party in June for our wedding in September, rather than have an AHR when we get back. At first we were a little iffy about having the engagememt party bc people may be insulted that they're not invited to the wedding, but it's something that our parents are putting together for us. We were going to do an AHR afterwards, but by the time we get our video and photos from the wedding, it's going to be time for holidays and winter weather, and it's just not worth it for us

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
