Hello Ladies

My FI and I had a civil ceremony (in ontario) to make our marriage legal before we went away.  Does anyone know what documents I need to bring to Jamaica with me? will a photocopy of the marriage licence be enough? also, is there any other documents they need.

This forum is more helpful than my WC...

I'm leaving in 2 days and I want to be prepared.

Thanks!!

Sher

I just got back from our trip, married July 24, it was amazing. Everything went off without a hitch. My WC Nekeisha was a star; she was awesome before I left and even better down there, she rocks! We all loved the resort, it's incredible. Food was soooo good, everything was fantastic. I would go back in a heartbeat. Any questions let me know!

Sarah :)

Hi Sarah, I'm from the UK I'm getting married 18th April next year. Wanted to ask you what you did for your reception. I can not decide whether to do the cocktail party and then go into one of the a la cartes to eat or to have a private reception. What would you recommend please?

Congratulations on your wedding IrieBride!!! I have lots of questions for you as im getting married in October! Where did you get married, what pacakge did you have? If on beach did you have a runner down the aisle? did you eat in blue lagoon, if so did you have the sound system in which you have to pay for, speakers and mic, is this worth paying for? Did you have any entertainment, we are thinking steel band for an hour not sure if its worth the $500. Did you pay for any extra lighting? how did you find the meal? If you could just give a general review on your wedding day that would be great or even some pics! Kind Regards

Hi there,

It's really personal choice I would say. We did a 4pm wedding and then headed to Poseidon for a private dinner. Our guests headed to the restaurant for 6pm and we got there at about 6:30pm (after photos). There was an open bar and then we sat for dinner around 7pm or so. I really liked the private dinner and  we had our first dance there. THen we did sky lanterns on the beach and then headed to the Infinity bar for drinks etc.  I will say that our meal was extremely filling (we picked the one with the soup, salad and app tho), so there would have been no room in our bellies if we had apps beforehand, but again, you could probably have a later dinner time in that case perhaps?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
