Hey! I am going barefoot for when I walk down the aisle, as I am klutz and even if I wear flip flops on the sand, I will probably trip over them.  The sand is only a little rough when you first get on it from the path and after that it's soft. You should be fine.

1:00 pm will be SUPER hot.

The other stuff the other brides can speak to as I'm not sure and as you know since we have been talking, I'm not getting married on the resort. However, as far as picture time, I would start your pictures around 3:30 or so if you want it to be a little cooler or want the nice sunset ish ones. The sun sets around 5:15 in November (it's 5:15 for us on the 11th) so we are taking photos from 4:30-5:15 and doing couple photos a few days later, as his sister is our photographer.

Maybe do all the group ones after the ceremony so people can go after and then come back for when your reception starts? That way you can do all the sunset ones just with the two of you :)

Noon is hot, but getting married in November it won't be terribly hot.  Plus there is a lovely breeze by the ocean.

It's hard to wear shoes and the walk is long.  I started in flip flops and quickly kicked them off.  They were flopping sand into my dress and onto my legs.  It was then sticking because I was hot.  No fun.

BBQ Theme dinner is a private buffet dinner by the pool.  It's dinner, drinks, and dancing all in one.

For a normal reception you get the restaurant for 2 hours.  If you pay to have it private I believe it's the same price as the poolside dinner, if they even let you do it.

Remember that sun sets on the west side of Mexico, so you actually won't see the sunset.  It'll be setting over the jungle.  Still a great time to take bride and groom photos, but you'll want all of your other images done and over with by that time so people can freshen up before dinner.

Hello everyone! I am getting married on November 20 2014, at the Akumal Beach location at 12 noon. That was the only time available unfortuantley, as I was hoping for a 1 or 2pm...Will it be really hot at that time? I'm not sure what to wear on my feet if anything, for walking on the sane.... anybody have advice on that?

I also have a few questions...what is the BBQ Theme dinner night? Is that the private dinner on the poolside?

I am hoping to get Arlequin for my 85+ guests- and I was told 5:30pm for that...but how long do we get the restaurant for I was told 2 hours? I read in an earlier post that someone had it for 5 hours??

I'm hoping it will be private as we have a large group coming....after dinner then do a private poolside reception.

Also, when is the best time to take pictures. I would like some after the ceremony, but thought maybe right before dinner taking some pictures with the sunset...

Thanks for your advice and replies! :)

I have less than 3 months to go and my emails are being responded to extremely slowly (once every few weeks).

I have yet to discuss any details with them, I confirmed my date long time ago but since then there has been little communication!

should I worry or this is normal?

Hi everyone! What a great thread, I have learned so much just scrolling through! I just booked my wedding at the Grand Bahia Principe Akumel, we are travelling December 6-14 2015 and the wedding is booked for the 9th @4pm at the Tulum Gazebo. I have requested the unforgettable package, is it worth the price or should I go for a lesser package and upgrade from there?

    Hi Gals!

Time sure flies! I'm getting married at the Akumal on November 7, 2014. I'm staying November 4-11th. I'm interested in using @Tlseege for photography! I was wondering if anyone else is going around those dates that would be interested in sharing her travel costs with me?

Another question: I really would love to do the poolside dinner/reception..Has anyone done this recently for 50 guests, and can give me an idea is it worth it compared to the restaurant and the approximate cost for the reception.

    Thanks!!

@samclarke is the day before you.  She might already have a photographer, but perhaps you could talk with her :)

How does it work if all 3 of us share? My wedding group is small like 10-15 including the bride and groom!
