Convertible Dresses

Recommended Posts

I've seen convertible dresses at Swimco and Le Vie en Rose in Canada for about $50! I have 2 that I love wearing on vacations because they can be dressy or casual, I'm totally thinking of getting them for my wedding party.

There were a few different options I found on etsy. I think Im going with a seller named Katesy. She sends you swatches for free and her dresses are between $100-$130 she said. It looks as though she has a lot of different colors and fabrics. She got back to me quickly and I am just awaiting my color swatch but with this postal strike it could be awhile! Frustrating!!

Sadly they don't have my color there and I'd rather not have my BMs pay $130. But the ones I saw on etsy, for some reason, were different lengths on everyone. If you've found someone else, please pass it on. Thanks!

My BMs are wearing the Multiway dresses from Victoria Secret. There are actually 3 different types, a short and Flirty, Long and Flirty and Short and Fitted. They all come in the same colours so I told BMs to pick the dress that will suit them the best in Red. Can't wait to see what they come up with!

That's what I was going to do but my colors are purple or lilac. I'm hoping Vicky's brings out a few new colors. The ones at Vicky's are also cheaper.

Ok ladies! I got my little sister to try on the dress I got from ideeli, and it looks AWESOME on her! So I know at least 2 of the 3 will totally rock it! I have no idea how they will choose which style to wear since they look great in all of them! I took a few pics of the different styles:

They should line up so the front shot is on top and the back shot that goes with it is below the top picture! :)

You can try Etsy seller Erin Nicole. Her store is Erin Nicole's Boutique. All she does is make convertible dresses to fit each person. The dresses, at last look, were $89/each. If anyone is plus size, or would like to add a tube top for add'l support, then extra fees were incurred. I found her to be a little difficult, as the dresses were not finished the day I asked for, but they still arrived on time. Other than that, the dresses were great.

way to rock the dress @krsmith!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this spring and we wore the dark purple long Henkaa dresses - they looked and felt so good! There were two junior bridesmaids as well and they wore short versions. I'm quite sure i'm getting these convertible dresses for my destination next year (still deciding between Hawaii and Jamaica!). Here's a picture...

To the girls thinking of Etsy retailers - a word of warning - I had another friend order her bridesmaids dresses from an Etsy seller because it cost less, but when she compared her dresses with my Henkaa one, the material seemed like bathing suit material or something so it was much stiffer. They were bulky and didn't flow as nicely and also weren't sewn very well. My friend and her bridesmaids didn't end up liking them but the seller wouldn't accept returns!  She ended up eating her losses and got completely different dresses from BCBG.

Anyway, I'm definitely doing the short version since it's on a destination wedding... but what do you ladies think will look better for the beach: the teal or the coral???

http://www.henkaa.com/convertible-dresses/sakura   I can't decide!!  My FI likes the teal because he says it's more "manly" but I'm afraid it will blend in too much with the water...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
